Well 5 months later we started getting text & phone calls from a collection agency that we owed $600 each, come to find out a freeze is only for 30 days. We were mislead and not informed by this club of the situation. i have the emails to prove it. This club is the worse of the worse and if this club does not resolve this we will take legal action. There is a definitely a sense of community and support. They push you hard- I get a way better full body workout here then I have at other barre studios. I love this and feel I get my money's worth/ especially if I'm taking a full 60 minute class versus the 50 minute express. On Tuesday afternoons Catherine teaches a Cardio Barre class and you do bursts of HITT workouts in addition to regular barre routines. Think jumping jacks, burpees, etc. It is a great way to get in some cardio and switch things up. The first class you try at Barre South is free and then. While I don't see myself spending that much money monthly for a gym like this, I do respect what they do and that the people who work their are genuine and create an environment that helps people feel comfortable and challenging. We selected this day for my first time (read: I am super out-of-shape, do not go to the gym, etc.) because it was low on cardio, focused on different stations of strength-based work, and easy to be modified. For example, if you move to a station where you are to lift weights, you could select 10 pound weights or 30 (or whatever) that is best suited for your needs. I wasn't nervous about coming because I've been to gyms of similar formats before. I was weary of embarrassing my friend in front of her other friends and coaches due to my lack of physical ability, but she assured me that no one would be judgmental and everyone would be encouraging. She was exactly right. Even better, no one seemed to give a rat's ass about what I was doing. And I mean that in a positive way. How nice to be able to work out and not feel like anyone is looking at you. That said, the coaches did keep an eye on me, to make sure I was doing the correct format or to offer me tips and modifications when it was obvious I needed it. I really enjoyed training at F45 this week, and I wish I lived in town so I could go back more often. I might want to check with the facility to see if they offer packages where you can purchase like a 10-class pass or something, because then I could join my friend when I visit from out of town or am home for holidays. I highly encourage anyone in Mount Pleasant or who lives in the area of an F45 to try out a class. You will not regret it!

Only qualm would be needing to check in with a staff member each visit. Room for improvement could be a card that you get for the term of your pass. Otherwise, it was seamless! There's a great turf area for stretching/any kind of free weight or circuit you'd like to throw together. Free weight area has plenty of space to always get a mirror spot. Cardio equipment is a bit on the older side but did its job. I did a good amount of running and intervals, and didn't run into any issues. I will absolutely be back when I'm in the area next! And highly recommend.

Disconcerting teacher and class. The "shanti shanti shanti" chat is weird and off-putting; not the first time I have heard it, but it gives cult. The teacher was equally off-putting to me; the main reason is she ignored my request not to be touched for adjustments. Anyone not wanting assistance was asked to raise a leg in down dog, and she later ignored it to try to touch me twice, and she also felt the need to move blocks closer to me since she wanted us to use them. It was cool to try to use blocks to help me transition from cheetah pose to low lunge, except I sweat too much and the blocks became slippery....so I knew why I was choosing not to use them. She did apologize after, which I told her was appreciated. I'm a devotee of vinyasa flow classes and get aggravated with classes that mix and muddle the different traditions so it isn't clear what kind of class you are leading. One thing I have noticed as I try new studios is that the ease with which you can use their website to register for class *and communicate with the studio* is a reliable indicator of how well run the space is. Emails about the spaces for our class that I had reserved and whether my friend could use one I bought were not answered in the two days before class, so we had to show up to know if my friend had a spot. My friend thought the class itself was great; I was glad I had the chance to do yoga with my friend.

I knew nothing about yoga, and ended up going to the hot yoga class, which was truly a work out, I never expected. I don't work out, I walk. That's about as physical as I get. i'm about to hit 60 in June and felt that I needed to try something to slow the progression of aches and pains and stiffness. So with much trepidation I decided to give this class a shot and I'm so glad I did. The staff and customers are wonderful. No pretense, no airs & graces, just the love of yoga. The space is beautiful and relaxing clean which is a feeling of serenity even though you're going to work every muscle in your body. In fact, muscles you never knew you had. After that first class of hot yoga I was hooked, even though I was exhausted. Nevertheless, I joined for $75 for the month with the full price to be deducted each month. I like the fact that you can cancel whenever you want. I've since booked a couple more classes, different ones, basic ones to learn the whole yoga jargon.. If you're on the fence, definitely give Powerglo a shot. They offer several different sessions, which are all online easy to book easy to cancel!!
