While I was taking the class, I was in a place where I couldn't see myself in the mirror and look at my form which was unfortunate. While it may look easy, you will get a great workout and the instruction, the care, making sure you are in the right position to do it correctly and prevent injury is fantastic. The workouts are diverse enough that I don't get bored and I feel great.

The studio is tucked away in this plaza, in the corner next to some other restaurant. Parking was super easy to find. The process to sign up and make it to class was pretty seamless.

They will customize your workout experience even in large classes. The coaches will make sure you are OK. If you have an injury, you will get modified instructions tailored to your needs. The other clients are very cool. Mellow, happy, joking, one big family. The coaches care about you and want you to reach your goals. The price: You get back so much more than you give. Also, you will not find more inexpensive classes at other local studios. Think Pilates is only for rich people? Not at HBP. The largest investment is your time. It's worth it. My recommendation: Sign up today. Start with Mat Pilates. When you are feeling stronger, try Lean & Fit and Barre. While it's understandable for regular members to have established connections, the class itself felt very cliquey, and the instructor provided little to no explanation of movements and offered zero modifications. Overall, the environment wasn't welcoming. The studio lacks aesthetic appeal, the equipment felt outdated, and the overall vibe was unfriendly. I attended one class and did not return. I'd much rather drive to the studios I regularly attend in Costa Mesa and Newport, where the instruction is stronger, the classes are higher quality, and the studios are beautiful.

This is the gripe: I joined CP south HB location July 5th, 2024 with a monthly unlimited membership. On August 28th 2025, the studio offered a semi-annual prepaid membership, which I signed up for. I was advised by Carol not to wait until the monthly payment was due in 9/5/25 to make the switch, and that she will tackle on a week at the end of my semi annual membership since it was already paid for. By my calculation (and hers) at the time of the prepaid membership was done, the 6 months should end February 28, 2026 (+ the one week). Today January 28th, 26 I received a call from Carol, telling me that my membership has expired and that I'm "locked out". And she would offer me a discounted annual membership if I renew today. I asked her what happened to the one month that is left. That is when Carol got really frazzled and not knowing what to do. She indicated to me that my account was being "audited", and that I need to speak with corporate. When asked for a corporate number, she refused to give it to me and instead asked me to email someone named "c sweet". I did so, without any response. Then she had the audacity to tell me that she'll let me "have the prebooked classes". Excuse me? I've paid for them til the end of February. You are not doing me any favor but instead locking me out of booking my classes one month earlier than expected. This is thievery. See photo for the receipt of my transaction, which clearly indicated the date the transaction occurred, as well as the type of membership it was.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

Too hard to find open swim time, too hard to properly staff lifeguards, too hard to get funding to finish the pool remodel, too hard fathoming the loss of all that money updating a clubhouse that was in better shape than the pool. Too hard justifying $85 per month, year 'round, and soon to increase...again. We'll miss the tennis courts...easily the best part and most under used part of the club. Epic Friday night family parties with the kids safely swimming (with a lifeguard) while the folks get hammered. Campfire smores, good friends and a wonderful staff. See ya.......................

Decided to surprise my wife with a relaxing duffy boat ride for our wedding anniversary with some friends. Went straight to Yelp to do my research (thanks Yelp!). Originally, I was going to book with a rental company for Newport Harbor, but then came across a Groupon for PCH Electric Boats. After checking out their website and reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I immediately booked. I called to book a white duffy boat on the day before Thanksgiving. The person on the phone was friendly, courteous and really easy-going. They asked if I had a Groupon and if I could provide the voucher number. BOOM. done. all set! I received an email with VERY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS (including photos) of where to park and where the meeting area was. Additionally, a link to the waiver form that every passenger is required to fill out (even your babies) was included in that email. On the day of our booking, we were met by the owner Grant who I'm pretty sure was the same friendly, courteous and easy-going person I talked to on the phone days earlier when I booked. He provided specific instructions on where we're allowed to go and what to avoid. He saw we had several small children in our party and recommended everyone use the restroom nearby before boarding since there is not place to stop out in the harbor. After we came back from our potty break, Grant lead us down to the dock and got all the kiddos fitted for their life vests (all in great condition btw). He assisted us with our bags so we could focus on boarding the kids safely and even took a group photo for us! The boat was clean and easy to drive. The sound system was bumping and all the windows easily lifted up for that nice harbor breeze. It was a beautiful and memorable day. On our return, Grant was at the dock with one of his employees ready to receive us. He guided us in smoothly and as we were gathering our belongings and cleaning up, he helped all the kids out and grabbed our bags. We handed Grant a tip and immediately he passed it over to his employee who was going to do the post-ride cleaning.. what a great boss!!!! Definitely will be booking with PCH Electric Boats again! Thanks Grant!!!!

I was looking for a workout that targeted my core without the high impact. I don't like Yoga and so I gave Pure Barre a shot. I have been hooked ever since! love it!!! It is a fantastic workout. I came into Pure Barre already fit from playing competitive soccer so I was a little wary. Wow, it kicked my butt! The workout is intended to target specific areas such as abs, thighs, seat, and upper body all while maintaining a tight core. Expect your legs to shake, the seat to cramp, and your abs to tighten up. To quote the instructors "let it all shake, we are reshaping your body". I do have my favorite instructors and some are challenging more than others but overall, they are all fabulous. Brittany, Chelsea, and Katie are tough and make you work hard but you leave there feeling fantastic. Even if you go on two consecutive days with the same instructor, don't plan on doing the same routine. They are always changing routines and choreography which makes it that much more interesting and challenging. I am particularly biased to the Pure Barre Huntington Beach. The studio, although small, it is larger then other Pure Barre studios. I figured the size is intended to maintain a good instructor to client ratio. The clientele is also unique - from grandmothers, to mothers, to college students. All shapes and sizes, all trying to look great! It is a fun and comfortable place to work out. So I'm really excited to talk about this new obsession in my life. Last spring, and about 5 months pregnant I caught wind of this gem of a place. Unfortunately being so pregnant I had no desire to work out , but vowed to myself that as soon as this baby arrived I would start taking classes. Well 4 months postpartum I finally felt it was time to get my body back. And ladies, I have never regretted a moment of it. The first 3 days were intense. By the time I hit my 4th day I was already seeing changes in my body. That is what keeps me so motivated week in and week out. Ive never been a gym kind of gal, I easily loose interest, the structure in here is what I thrive for. I make it a point to come in at least 3 times a week, and even though I come in pretty often it never gets old, the works are constantly evolving. I look forward to what these amazing instructors will be making us do next. The main girls in front are super sweet and helpful. And best of all the monthly deals make my me obsession a little easier on my wallet. Both locations are beautifully maintained. But will always have a soft spot for my HB location. Summer is just around the corner and you better believe I will be wearing my bathing suit with more confidence thanks to this place and it's amazing staff. read more

I'm so happy about this new location!! I can now drop my kids off at school and pop over for a 55 minute workout. (Its at Goldenwest and Yorktown in the Seacliff Shopping Center). Pure Barre Huntington Beach has great teachers - All very friendly and helpful. The studio is warm and welcoming with plenty of room to move around. I've been working out at Pure Barre Irvine for a year and continue to feel an intense challange. The music is always fresh and current, the moves are changing and updated regularly and vary by teacher. Before PB I had taken about 10 yoga classes and basically walked my dog for exercise. It was easy to transition into a PB workout (no prior experience needed). I've never been overweight - but now I'm more toned and extremely flexable (which I have never been in my life). The work out consists of small movements; first working on your thigh area, then seat and lastly abs. After each stint - there is a stretching period. No bouncing and no yelling - Yet you get your heart rate up and have a positive experience. read more

I had a wonderful first day experience at Barre. I called a day beforehand, and I appreciated how they told me how to take advantage of all the special deals going on. I have been running and doing gym classes for 5-6 years, but took a 6 month break due to injuries in my knee and wrists. When I got to the studio this morning, I told them it was my first time, and the front desk and teacher both had great, welcoming attitudes. The teacher helped me to set up the equipment and space since it was my first time and I was filling out my paperwork. When I went into the room, she reserved the best spot for me (in my opinion) - right in front of her so I could best follow along. And she explained the moves to me in advance, but also gave me enough attention during the class to help guide/correct my movements. In all my gym class experiences, I have never done these types of moves - they are very unique to Pure Barre - and it felt both great and challenging. At first I thought it was ok, kind of small, but then the alpha mom came in and started picking on this other lady, she made it a point to walk up and talk bad about this other lady, this other member even asked her to stop, till the lady ran out. Then Alpha mom continued. The worse part was the owner/manager she seem to support this behavior. I never scene such abusive behavior toward another living person let alone a business. It was like an after school special. I have taken 2 classes here now and am hooked. It is a wonderful very focused workout. I like that it targets the areas we women want to tone the most, thighs, butt and abs. The warm up does provide a nice upper body workout and I feel like it helps with general toning in that area as well. I have had different instructors each time and enjoyed them both. Clear instruction and correction if they see you are not in the correct position. They seem very knowledgeable and encouraging. Plenty of burning going on throughout the session. I also like that the class isn't packed. I have been to this type of class at another workout facility and the class was always so packed you were squished right up against your neighbor with no room to really move. Not the case here. The studio is huge and could accomodate a large group easily. I am a fan and will definitely continue to take classes here! read more

I was so excited to hear that a Pure Barre was opening 5 minutes from my house. I had been going to Bar Method in Newport Beach occasionally but it was hard to go consistently since it was a 30 minute drive. When I took my first Pure Barre class I was hooked. Not only is the studio brand new and clean but the staff is so welcoming from the instructions to the front desk. The instructors are all really nice and encouraging but they kick your butt too! In the month that I have been going I can tell a difference in my body. I can tell that I have gained muscle in my arms and lost inches in my waist and thighs which have always been my problem areas. I started doing the Pure Barre classes in Huntington Beach in January of 2011. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the studio, and the professionalism of the staff. The movements involved in the exercises are small and the instructor was always there correcting my form and making sure I got the most of my experience. I have NO previous dance experience (except for ballet classes when I was little ha ha) and was happy to see that I was able to do the exercises. I have added this Pure Barre workout to my other routines and I am pleasantly surprised at how much it has improved my overall fitness including my tennis game. In summation I am hooked on Pure Barre and would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great workout. read more

I've been to a few PB studios, and this is one of my favorites. The staff and other clients are all very welcoming. I think I've had 4 or 5 of the instructors thus far, and they are all very encouraging and attentive to form. My biggest complain about PB has been how expensive it can be, but since I moved to HB, I've gotten a bunch of packages on various specials for 4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc, so if you get on the mailing list, you can easily most of your classes for less than $15 a piece. Classes tend to be small here, which I like, which I a nice change from my "home" studio in the last place I lived. read more

I started going to Barre about a month ago! I had always heard about it but had never actually tried it. I took advantage of the $100 introductory special and I am fully addicted to it now. When I leave I feel that I have gotten a complete workout and I'm still sore for a few days after! I have noticed a more defined "tone" in my arms and legs and definitely in my butt! I did Pure Barre today for the second time (my first was a year ago). I wanted to go to another class because it was a charity class and I wanted a break from the normal gym. I was really impressed with the instructor Brittany and with the friendliness of all the students taking class with me. I really feel Pure Barre would help me with my core strength. I would recommend for people try Pure Barre as a way to break away from normal gym training. I can't wait to go to another class! read more

Pure Barre is awesome! I love how fast-paced and high energy the classes are. I am not exactly the biggest fan of working out, but I truly enjoy the workout I get from a Pure Barre class. It is definitely tough, but the fun, upbeat music and awesome instructors make the classes go by quick. I feel like Pure Barre definitely gives me a full body workout! This is an absolute full body workout! The studio is clean, the instructors are great and the classes are intense. I've been to other studios and this is the one I am hooked on! Brittany is a drill sargent but encourages you to go at your own pace. Especially nice that women of all ages attend the classes and newbies are always warmly welcomed. The Pure Barre classes provide a total workout for specific body areas that I would never focus on while working out on my own. It is easy for me to acquire aerobic activity, but the Pure Barre classes focus on core strength, stretching, abdominals, arms, thighs, derriere, and back strength (which is so important to me as aging continues). It is a difficult workout yet enjoyable. It definitely gives you an overall workout in just one hour. I particularly like Sofia!! read more

This is a great studio. The instructors are all very different so it keeps your workouts fun while at the same time challenging. I love the community of women and have found a new family here. It is a bit expensive but it's well worth it. I've been a gym rat for years, always searching and trying out new studios, new disciplines of exercise, but here I've found something that has kept me interested plus it's gentle on my joints. I did my first class last night at the HB location and it kicked my butt! But it was AWESOME! Our instructor was Caroline and she went through EVERYTHING with my friend and I before class started. She took the time to explain the flow of the class and equipment and where everything was and it was super helpful, I didn't feel lost at all! The location is great too! I was so excited when this opened in HB...I had been going to the one in Costa Mesa but this is so much closer. Pure Barre works. It is that simple. It will change your body...fast. In 55 minutes you get strength training, stretching and cardio...which is awesome because it combines them all in one workout. When I called to find out why, I was told that I was required to come in person to cancel. This was never clearly communicated to me during any of my previous conversations with staff. I then requested a manager call me back. No one did. To be fair, the employee I spoke with most recently was very polite and professional, and none of this appears to be her fault. However, the lack of communication and accountability from management has been extremely frustrating. The following day, I received a call informing me that they would be issuing a refund and asking if I would remove my Yelp review. That is not happening. Everything I have written in my review is truthful and based on my experience. If the company is concerned about negative reviews, they should focus on improving how customers are treated rather than asking customers to remove honest feedback. Being charged after I believed my account was settled, struggling to get management to respond, and then being asked to take down my review has only reinforced my concerns. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

I live south OC, but work in Westminster so this is perfect for me. Flexible hours. I go in either before or after work.
