I have taken two Pure Barre classes at this location through Class Pass. Prior to this, I had taken a few barre classes at a couple other studios (not Pure Barre), but none were at the same level as this brand. Each instructor I've had has been great. During class it's clear I'm not a regular, so I appreciate that they do a really great job adjusting my form to ensure I am getting the most out of my workout. The classes fly by and they have a nice flow. I love that there are short stretch sessions after a "set" because my muscles are always exhausted and longing to be lengthened. All the tiny movements in each set really fatigue and tighten the muscles. Because the class goes so quickly and the instructor walks around more than she demos, it's easy to get a bit confused about what you are supposed to be doing. The more you go, the easier it probably becomes to follow along. But don't worry, if you are doing something wrong it won't be long until the instructor comes by to help. It's such a small studio space that you can't hide. Note: Pure Barre runs a tight ship! If you tend to come to classes a couple minutes late, look elsewhere for barre classes. They start on time and don't let people in after the music starts because the classes jump right in - there is no warm up. Also, you do need special socks for these classes. read more

Initially I had a great experience at Pure Barre! I loved the instructors and the staff and was willing to sign up for a year long commitment of classes to get a discount but things went a bit sour due to some miscommunication. When I signed up there was a new member challenge that entailed completing 10 classes to earn a free pair of socks. I was super excited for this challenge and for the socks since they were cute so I completed 10 classes. On my tenth I walked in and they welcomed me and said congratulations on completing the new member challenge. They even took a photo of me with a sign saying I'd completed the accomplishment. Afterward I asked if I could choose my pair of socks and I was looked at as if I had two heads. Both women at the front desk said there was no such thing and insisted members only get a pair of socks for completing 100 classes. I thought I may have misheard when signing up so I went along and continued with my classes. Except the following week when another woman had completed her tenth class and was awarded and allowed to choose her complimentary pair of socks. This hurt--was my accomplishment not the same? Was I not valued the same way? It seems silly but this small miscommunication just made me feel unwelcome or as if my money or commitment to showing up didn't go as far as someone else's. That day I sent an email requesting my membership to be canceled. We went back and forth a couple times until I was notified that there was a 3 month commitment but once the 3 months are up there was a note on my account and my membership would cancel and I wouldn't be charged! I said great sounds easy enough. So I continued going to classes. When my last class rolled around I wanted to double check that my membership would be ending and safe to say no note was placed on my account and this was very disappointing. While the instructors and most of the staff are wonderful I really wish the management at this place was more thorough in communicating with their team to make sure everyone knows the policies and current promotions/challenges. I would have loved to continue working out here but just couldn't stand the idea of showing up somewhere being promised one thing and provided another. Not to mention many of the classes were repetitive in moves/music. After completing a month of classes I felt like I was stuck in the Groundhogs day movie. Additionally, while there are a variety of classes most class types are scheduled for the same days/times so this limits your ability to sign up for a variety of workouts. read more

I had a great workout experience here. So disclaimer... I never work out but I am trying to get started. I enjoyed Pure Barre because your first class is free and you do not have to commit right away. I went to the 5:30 Monday Classic Class. When you walk into the studio not far from the front desk are lockers that you can put your stuff in. The class was pretty full. But there was enough distance between people so you don't feel suffocated while you work out. They aLao have wipes to clean the equipment you use(they provide all equipment, you just bring your socks). Our instructor was Abby. She was very attentive and corrected my form whenever I wasn't doing things properly. I will say the class goes a little fast so it was hard to keep up (being that I am new to the language). I'm sure if you go a few times you will catch on. All and all this was a great experience and I could feel each movement targeting specific muscles. I will likely try it again! read more

I LOVE, love love my visits to Pure Barre! No matter what time class I take or which instructor I have, this is ALWAYS a great workout. It's a cute little studio with a check-in desk at the front, a retail section, cubbies for personal items and then the studio. The room is a good size and it's easy to see/hear the instructor. Plus the instructors wear a headset microphone so you can hear them over the music. They always do a wonderful job of remembering names, most are regulars but I'm not so this always impresses me. The class was tough, I try to get a workout in once a week but that's not always possible so this is coming from someone who isn't very fit. My mind usually goes along the lines of "Well this is super hard and I'm sweating like crazy and my body is shaking BUT I don't feel like I'm going to fall over and die doing this so that's a bonus..." The 50-min class always flies by. The classes I've taken start with stretching then move into arm exercises with the weights, barre for leg work, sit down by the barre for a mixture of abs/arms and then finish with abs and more legs. I enjoy the variety of exercises that target different areas of your body. The studio also provides you with everything you need so you just show up with your water and barre socks and you're good to go. Also, parking is a huge perk for me and this place offers plenty of free parking! read more

I am new to Pure Barre, but I am hooked. The staff was very helpful in getting me started and the facility is brand new. I will say - this is the most challenging workout I have ever done - and I love it. The class schedule seems to be expanding and there are very early and very late options as well as weekends for those that work - like me. It is pricey, but a great value for your money. The classes follow a routine that helps keep you focused and working. You use the entire hour long class to work your body. read more

Good workout but rigid, inflexible policies. The instructor shuts the door at the start of class. If you're late, you forfeit the class and the fee. If you're on time, but the door is closed, you forfeit the class and the fee. Today's class was 4:30. By the time I came in, listened to "I'm sorry" and walked back to my car, it was 4:30. But the door is closed. We can't let you in for safety reasons. read more

Pure Barre New Albany is an amazing place! Finding the barre was one of the best things that happened to me in 2015 and I am excited to start off 2016 with my 100th class this week! I absolutely love this studio, the instructors and the workout itself! Pure Barre is truly something I look forward to attending 3-4 times per week. Each class is challenging and fun and the hour flies by. I also love that barre is a full-body workout so all I need to supplement is some cardio throughout the week though the barre class itself does get your heart pumping, too. Plus, a new cardio class was just added this month! (Overall, the barre workouts are always being updated and refreshed so it never gets boring.) Everyone at this studio, both instructors and clients, are friendly and welcoming. The space is clean and inviting with a nice retail area that sells Lululemon and other great brands. Class times are plentiful and convenient and always start and end on-time which I highly appreciate. The price is right, especially if you get a contract which includes retail discounts. I LOVE this place. The workouts are hard and effective and I have seen a big difference in my body from consistent classes (think more inches lost than lbs- which is fine by me!) I also like that they have early morning classes daily which is great for my schedule. Natalie, Emily, Maggie, and Heidi have been my favorites at this studio. I would recommend taking a "Breaking Down the Barre" class if possible before taking the regular ones - some of the moves can be confusing but you catch on quickly. I also like the addition of Platform classes which get you some cardio in and are faster pace. The ONLY negative is the cost is fairly steep compared to most boutique classes in Columbus area. They do sometimes have specials so I am hoping they continue them. read more

My first experience at Pure Barre New Albany completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in the staff was welcoming and seemed genuinely excited to have me in class, which I loved! As someone who exercises on a daily basis I was surprised at how much of a work out it was. Going to Pure Barre is one of my favorite parts of the day. I was nervous the first time, I'd never done a class like this before. I was happy to find a welcoming, friendly environment with a helpful staff who pushes you to do more than you think is possible. The class is fast paced and fun. I absolutely love this Pure Barre studio! The girls who teach classes and run the front desk are so kind and welcoming! My favorite instructors there are Abby DiSabato, Natalie D'Onofrio, and Emily Swanson. The studio is located in a quaint little plaza and I just love how I actually look forward to working out when I go there and I am not a fitness fanatic by nature. Aside from loving the classes, the studio is clean, decorated well, and run very smoothly. I would highly recommend this Pure Barre location. With each class I have taken since they continue to help me when I'm confused without ever making me feel uncomfortable. And the classes are a great workout!
