My kids love coming here to shoot hoops during open gym and we have registered them for multiple sports with great experiences each time. Family friendly and clean! What's not to love? I do wish the pool had a better schedule and was a bit bigger but over all a great facility. We are a family of six, 2 adults and 4 kids and you can't beat the price for the family membership.

The space was large, looked clean, and well laid out. We enjoyed the expansive family changing areas, different and a great surprise. Lockers are available, too for use while swimming in the large pool. The pool was separated in half. One half was composed of four lap lanes; good signage for those wishing to swim slow, medium or fast. The second half was also split in half, creating two smaller, square pools, one shallow (2-4 feet) the other deeper (4-5 feet). The shallow side held a water structure, shaped like a mushroom, that showered upon the kids splashing and playing in the area. (To turn this feature on, a lifeguard must be notified.) In order to be free to swim in the deep end (where there is a tube slide, which wasn't in use during our visit), one must prove to the lifeguards competency and skill - jump far enough in to hold your head underwater, swim the length of the pool without resting or stopping, and float or tread water for 30 seconds. This is a great tool for encouraging up-coming swimmers, as well as keeping people safe. Well done! After our swim session, our friends gave us a little tour of the class spaces, gymnasium, workout machines, free coffee/tea/hot cocoa, and kids/teen play and hang out spaces. It's a great facility and we look forward to coming back!

I've never been someone who can commit to a gym membership or regular exercise. I've tried many…read moretimes over the years, but I always get bored and unmotivated and then fizzle out quickly. I was nervous to try OTF because of my lack of fitness and experience. My trial class was with Coach Anna. The studio called the night before to walk me through what to expect, which I really appreciated. On the day of the first class, the front desk staff and Coach Anna walked me through everything and answered all my questions. Anna continued to check in throughout the workout to make sure I was doing okay. I finished and was shocked that I didn't hate it. I very hesitantly signed up, but I'm happy to report that months later, I'm still loving it and feel better than ever. Things I love about OTF in general: I don't have to make decisions about what exercises to do each day, I can't back out last minute if I'm not in the mood (there's some flexibility for real emergencies if you call them), you set your own pace and intensity, classes fly by and I don't get bored, coaches are always there to answer questions and give feedback/recommendations, the benchmarks and challenges keep me motivated, and maybe most importantly, I've seen huge changes in my overall health and strength. Specific Shoreline studio details: the front desk staff are so friendly. They always greet me by name with a smile. The studio is clean and well cared for. I mostly take classes with Anna and Mitchell, just because that's what works with my schedule. They are both amazing at what they do. They're kind, motivating, personable, and I love that they give me feedback on form when lifting. For me, this is really important so I don't injure myself and so that I'm working the right muscles. One piece of feedback is for ALL of the coaches to give feedback on form on the weight floor. I've taken some classes where the coaches are pretty quiet and don't really interact with the people in the class, and it's not as helpful for me as someone newer to lifting. Overall, I love this OTF studio and look forward to many classes to come (especially with Anna and Mitchell)!

The draw for ECA over big places like LA/24 hour was the smaller business vibe & I wanted to "shop local". I also liked the childcare options. 1. when we signed up at the Ballinger Village location with Brody, he made a big show of telling us (my husband and I) how they're a small business and they're not out to get money, he said most of them are just personal trainers or nutritionists, NOT BUSINESSMEN (i remember this line because he repeated it several times). So he encouraged me to sign up for the champions class. I asked specifically if I could cancel if it didn't fit my needs/baby schedule. He said "of course. But I'd recommend you try it for at least 60 days so you can really see if it works for you. And if you still need to cancel, just reach out. We're really chill here." This was near verbatim. 2. After more than a couple months, I found the champions class great for others but not for me/my toddler's schedule so I emailed to cancel which was the ONLY option I was given. And the email response was short, rude, and included a "$299 + tax downgrade fee" for the cancellation. Mind you, I wasn't trying to cancel our membership. Just MY champions access. I told them what Brody had told us just months prior and they absolutely didn't budge. That's fine. It's policy - I get it. But this is totally the kind of stuff big businesses pull and they should be up front. 3. We ended up completely cancelling our memberships (both of us) because we thought this way of business was shady and when you think about the cost and what they offer v. what big gyms offer (LA/24) then you'll realize it's absolutely not worth it. all that talk in the beginning is EXACTLY what it sounds like. a sales pitch. don't be sucked in. **I will say the teachers at the childcare are above and beyond. I have told everyone I know about our ECA experience and hopefully saved people quite a bit of $$$ but I have nothing negative to say about the teachers at childcare. ** in case my review is too long. read this reddit forum. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/oanvzy/emerald_city_athletics_a_toxic_manipulative_and/

Wonderful place to workout…read more Dozens of people have messaged me and asked more specifics relating to my other review. Here are some details: Classes can be very very full so plan to dance close to other people. As of March 2022 masks are no longer required and most everyone attending (adult classes) do not wear them. Music is lively and fun but also super loud so bring your ear plugs if your hearing is sensitive. If you register for a class don't miss the class or cancel the class no closer than 8 hours before the class (I believe) or you will be charged a $15.00 fee. Many many people want to get into class so cancel early. SDF has mostly dance fitness classes offered in the evening and a few other class options (turbo kick etc offered in the morning) as part of the $125.00 monthly membership fee. In addition there are some other special classes (Twerk and monthly dance parties etc) offered at about $25 per class but see the website for further details. I do not believe SDF is part of "class pass" etc. No showers or lockers but there is a bathroom and a bunch of cubbies. The dance floor is cushioned which is great for the KNEES. Super tall ceilings and the gigantic garage door stays open which allows for great air movement. Parking is often tough so you might have to park off site at the park or near the Costco and walk over to the studio. Uplifting community and a great place to land if you love to dance for fitness but aren't looking for super complicated choreography Yes, ALL are welcome here!!!

I can't believe I have been going to orange theory and haven't written a review yet, so here goes!…read moreFirst off I don't give out fives but this place seriously deserves one! When I first got to OTF I was a little back and forth about the prices, I thought it seemed expensive from a typical gym membership, but then again this isn't your average gym. For every class you have an AMAZING trainer in there with you and everyday there is a new work out so your muscles never get used to doing the same thing (which happens when you do those great DVDs at home). I took the three free classes to try it out and was hooked! I immediately saw changes in my over all health. My endurance was higher I was sleeping better, not to mention I was burning a sh*% ton of calories. I've been an athlete for years, I've coached, and hosted workout classes at Western Washington so I can speak to a wide range of people when I say (OTF) orange theory is for everyone. Hopefully if you are reading my review you kind of already know what this place is about (because I didn't really get into that part) but I will mention that each person wears a heart rate monitors during their work out that is projected on a board to keep track of where they are throughout their workout. So how does this work for everyone For the athlete: If you tend to be more competitive and need a harder work out, This class is great for you you get your results after every class and you can constantly try to improve on them the next time. You can also push yourself during ever work out by making sure you stay in the zones
