We were rushed & told we could not get a package completed. My pedicure had to be finished by another person. They blamed it on me telling me I was five minutes late. After speaking with the pedicure person, she said that there should be grace time alotted between services & I'm not the only one who's had issues with the way they schedule packages. Five minutes late should not have been an issue for any business. This is not a place to go if you want a relaxing experience. The system in place is severely disorganized. After speaking with the receptionist she said there's nothing I can do as the manager is on leave. Additionally, they're packing stylists in the building after Don Franco's closed. I came here for a facial after a stressful month of studying for a big exam so I was really looking forward to unwinding and I was pleasantly surprised by this spa. They start by giving you a locker to store your personal belongings in exchange for a soft, comfortable robe and some slippers. The slippers were clean, however in the future I think I'll bring my own as I felt weird putting my bare feet into shoes that someone else has worn. You're then escorted to a waiting area with dim ambient lighting and some soothing background music. My esthetician then came to get me for my anti-aging facial. The cinnamon enzyme peel she used really brought the impurities out of my skin. While it's not an overnight cure for fine lines and hyperpigmentation, it did peel away the layers of built up stress in my skin. I also wasn't aware they do a foot and arm massage while some of the creams/peels settle so that was a nice added bonus. It's my birthday month and they offer $10 off services, so I do plan to return for a massage in the near future which I also anticipate will be a great experience. read more

I recently took my Mom here as part of her birthday celebration. I scheduled an eyebrow/face waxing for her and a Signature Facial for each of us. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff at the front desk and given a health/skin survey to complete. Once finished, we were taken back to the locker room where our lockers (with keys) were tagged and waiting for us. In the lockers we had a robe and slippers to change into. The locker room also has a sauna and showers. Once changed we were instructed to go to the relaxation room and wait for out Aestiticians. The relaxtion room is a small corner with dim lighting, a few comfy chairs and light music creating a nice relaxing atmostphere. There were also a few complementary snacks and strawberry infused water. After 5 minutes, the Aesticians came to get us and take us to the room for our facials. The Signature Facial was fantastic! It included a small head, hand and foot massage. She took her time with each step of the the facial and it was very relaxing. I surely did fall asleep during my session. My Mom thoroughly enjoyed her experience and we both left with glowing skin, feeling like new women. Kailey and Brianna did a fantastic job. The facility itself was clean and quiet. I'm told that they have been here a few years (I think 5) but the place still looks new. All of the ladies that we spoke to were pleasant and helpful. Pure Bliss offers many other services (that we obviously didn't try this time) including hair salon services, nail salon services, eyelash extensions, spa/massage services and makeup. I think most of the prices are standard/reasonable and there were a few things that I think are priced a little high. Overall, it was a great experience. A pleasant surprise. Recently, I saw Dan B for a color boost (highlights interspersed with low lights) and a hair cut, of which I was in dire need. For reasons too weird to recount here in great detail (my once trusty and reliable hair stylist went AWOL at his last salon and has seemingly disappeared into thin air), I checked out Pure Bliss on a whim and was led to Dan B by the guy answering the phone. I knew immediately that this was going to go one of two distinct ways: either it was going to turn into a colossal train wreck, a definite "don't" that I would be talking about for years to come or I was going to leave a satisfied customer with a new stylist. Luckily for me, it turned out to be a case of the latter and not the former. When it comes to salons, there usually is no grey area in my book. You either love it or hate it. Knowing next to nothing about Dan when I booked this appointment, I had reservations and nearly cancelled before heading over to the salon to let him work his wonders with my hair. I'm not going to lie- Dan was great. He was pleasant, funny and easy to work with. He came up with great suggestions and went through a thorough consultation with me before starting on my hair. He asked me very specific questions about what I liked, didn't like, how I wear my hair, what products I use on it, etc before coming up with a game plan of how to tackle my naturally curly, thick hair that I usually straighten. Somehow, I knew the moment that I plopped down into Dan's stylist chair that everything was going to turn out okay and it did. He listened, took his time and rechecked his work when he was done to ensure I left with the best cut and color possible- and I didn't hate the way he styled it like I do with most hair stylists. In the end, I was very pleased with the final product and anyone that knows me is well aware of how fussy I am when it comes to my hair. Dan did a great job, was professional and easy-going and he even threw in a free, moisturizing hand massage for the hell of it! My hair looked great, I loved the sexy low lights mixed in my ash blonde base color and, truth be told, my hair looks better than it has in months. My husband was pretty impressed with how well it turned out (he's picky about his hair as well) and hasn't stop talking about it since. Now, he's booked an appointment with Dan as well. As for the salon itself, it's located in a weird little hodgepodge of office suites in Gateway Centre, making it seem a bit out of place and slightly hard to find, but I don't really care about that. Once inside, the ambiance is very relaxing and the staff is friendly and outgoing. Now for the price- cheap, it was not. I received a quote over the phone for color services and it was higher than what I was expecting by about $30-$40 (maybe that hand massage wasn't free after all). That said, I still left very pleased and transformed into a repeat customer. Despite the slightly higher price involved (I paid $205, including the purchase of a styling product before walking out the door), it was a quality experience. read more

My husband and I recently had a couples massage here. I was so, so pleasantly surprised with our visit. Don't let the Flint address scare you... it's a really nice area, inside of a business park. We were greeted upon arrival, offered coffee/tea and walked through the "new client" paperwork. After completing our paperwork, we were promptly taken to the locker room, provided with our locker number and key, and shown the relaxation room (where we would wait once we were changed). The locker room was reasonably sized for the facility, and contained a vanity area, shower, toilets, sauna and lockers. The relaxation room was dark, had very comfortable furniture and a table with water and snacks. It was so cozy that I wasn't sure if I wanted my massage or just a blanket and a nap! As I previously mentioned, by husband and I had our massages (deep tissue) together in the Grand Suite, which is really just like tow massage rooms, end to end. My massage therapist was Julie. She did a great job walking me through what to expect from my first deep tissue massage. She also did a great job at adjusting pressure as I asked through out my massage. When our sessions were finished, our massage therapists walked us back to the relaxation room, offered us snacks, advised what we should/shouldn't do to get the most out of our treatments. This was a wonderful experience. When I first arrived at Pure Bliss, I was greeted warmly by the front desk attendant. She offered me a beverage and I was told I could have a seat in the waiting area while the Nail Technician, Natalie, finished up with her client. My experience with Natalie was great. She was friendly and easy to talk to. She suggested a nail color for me and I absolutely love it. She took her time with my shellac manicure, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. My daughters and I went to get mother/daughter pedicures here because I got gift certificates to it for Mother's Day. They couldn't have chose a better place!! As soon as you walk in you know it's a first class establishment. The receptionist was super friendly and worked to get us all in together even though we hadn't made an appt. She got ladies for all of us after a very short wait during which she made sure we were comfortable and had drinks. Then the pedicures were AMAZING! Heather, Kelly and Vonda were professional but also sweet, friendly and funny! They made us feel like we were being pampered while hanging out with some girlfriends. i got my tape in hair extensions done here for prom, i was given a gift card so and it looked nice. Shannon Kelly was my stylist and she said she would be able to do it all during the consultation and seemed nice. she colored my hair first and i payed 150 she colored my hair then tried to match exstention swatches to it and none of them matched very well. after she put them in the color did not blend in with my hair very well until i toned it at home. while my color was siting at the bowl she took another client and when i walked back into the room after 2 other girls washed my hair, there was hair all over the chair and the floor from the previous person that was just left there. i started to look around and there was old hair all over the ground and in the corners. she had walmart root cover up spray boodles laying open and tipped over, all together not cleaned safely. the next day she put the extensions in. i payed 292. she had told me she might not have enough hair from what i purchased and can use some of hers and earlier had told me she just took out her exstenations . i fully did not understand but later when my boyfriends sister took them out she told me the exstentions the other stylist used where used exstenotions and still had the old tape on them underneath the new tape with the stylist hair still stuck in it from the used tape. not only is that nasty but that's agents all sanitation and safety. she was talking to my mom most of the time about sleeping with there husbands and take showers with them and it was very un professional. i told her about my boyfriends sister who also does hair (important later). about a day later after she had put them in i realized one of them was sticky all around it and slipping and it was all over my hair. i texted my boyfriends sister to ask if it was normal and she said she would look at it when she could but to text the stylist to see if she will fix them. i did and her response was along the lines of she could but wouldnt it be easier if i had my boyfriends sister do them because she's closer. that surprised both me and his sister. just again not professional at all then about 2 weeks later one of the extensions started slipping half way out. then another week later they started ripping in the middle of the extensions breaking my hair. i went to his sisters to get them fixed and when she looked at them she told me they were done completely wrong. they are supposed to be sandwiches where the hair is in the middle and there's two exstentions on each side. this gives support and volume. there was one exstention with tape on it and it was just stuck to my hair. his sister called the salon to ask what tape she used and if she could come get it because normal you buy the remover and extra tape with the exstentions and if you don't use the remover meant for the extensions geting them out is a struggle. at first she was snotty with her saying are you sure you know how to do it and so on, then once she told her she was certified and where she worked she switched up and was all nice. when she asked for the tape and remover the stylists response was "oh you know just from amazon" my boyfriends sister said what? and was mind blown that a professional is buying tape and supplies like this from amazon and at random. she told her no and you can't just use stuff from amazon and left the conversation at that. when his sister did take out the exstenations they were so sticky and cheap that the glue was impossible to get out and it left résido in m'y haïr for about a week or 2 even when his sister used professional remover. i payed 150 for the color that i think was just toner. 292 for the extensions and 100 for her to put them in when they damaged my hair and we're done completely wrong. i wanted to say something about this for a very long time but i just thought i should leave it alone. now i'm in Cosmetology school and realize how bad of a service this really was and should say something. i'm not sure how the other stylist there are but i would not recommend going to her. this service was no where near cheep as i was 15 paying for it with birthday money and i already had damaged short haïr that won't grow. i was getting exstentions to also help from me not using heat as much and with all the damone she did i was better off without them. i have pictures of my hair with the exstentions in and i think i still have the texts from her. i'm not sure if i can add them to this tho for proof. read more

While in town from Houston to visit family my cousin and I came for facials and some relaxation. We both LOVED our experiences! The salon smells so good and is clean and appealing. The receptionists greeted us warmly and our estheticians were quick to welcome us back to our rooms. Previous reviewers mentioned a spa lounge and locker room area. I didn't see any of that, maybe due to post-pandemic protocols, but I did not miss these features at all. The facial I received from Yasmine was one of the best I've ever had anywhere! After cleansing and assessing my skin, she recommended the best treatment for me. I was comfortable throughout the entire facial, and went into a deep state of relaxation during the neck, hand and foot massage. Yes, you get a lovely massage while the mask sets!! Yasmine has a gentle and soothing touch and it felt so luxurious! Just the relief I needed after a long week with the family, lol. I walked out feeling fresh-faced and pampered. I will for sure come back next time I'm in town! I hope Pure Bliss holds onto Yasmine for a long time bc she is an absolute gem! They then proceed to not only treat me like a queen but they used olaplex, toned my hair, and used a SOS treatment on my hair. To celebrate my birthday, my friend booked spa appointments for us here weeks in advance of Saturday 11/12/22. When we arrived to check-in, we were told that there had been some confusion amongst the staff about our (confirmed!!) appointments and that one of the therapists had gone home so they could only provide one of us with services. That was the only "solution" presented to us. Though the confusion had apparently occurred earlier that day, no one from the spa had attempted to contact us prior to our arrival. They clearly had not asked the therapist to come back. Instead, they waited for us to arrive to essentially turn us away. It was baffling! Even more baffling: no one from this place called to apologize to my friend or make any attempt to rectify their screw up after the fact. We are both still stunned by the disrespectful way we were treated. This was the first and last time either of us will walk through their door - which, by the way, is not a relaxing experience. The whole place stinks of acrylic nails, and the lobby area is jam-packed with crap for sale... everything from lotion and shampoo to baked goods. Chaotic, stinky, and unprofessional. Went for a gel manicure. 3 days after, the color on one of my nails just fell off. Called and she fixed it. 3 days later, another fell off, and then the next day another and the next day another. So in total, 4 nails had the color completely fall off within 8 days. Called when I got back in town and explained. They wouldn't do anything. They said it would be 2 weeks in a couple days anyways so I could just pay to have it redone. Gel manicures should last 2 weeks. They even last 2-3 weeks when I do them at home! I won't pay for such poor service. They also offered to have me come in and have the rest of the color take off. Since they are all coming off by themselves, I declined that offer. This is poor customer service. They don't care if the customer is happy or if they come back. read more
