I had called on a Saturday looking to get a Brazilian Wax and was scheduled on the Wednesday. Upon walking in I was greeted by the receptionists, very lively ladies although I didn't catch their names. They introduced me to Mary and informed me she will be servicing me today. I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed and contemplated on getting on massage and asked when the next available massage was and was booked for the following day.. Mary was amazing she explained what she was going to do and what type of wax she believes is best. Mary is very knowledgeable. She also listened to me when I was expressed I prefer "the one swoop" deal lol instead of little by little. Mary indicated she thinks it hurts less to which I countered that it actually hurts more for me. Mary was gentle and has an amazing personality she really helped me feel comfortable. She even asked me at the end if all I was getting was the wax I had told her I had actually scheduled a massage for the following day upon arriving because that's what was available. Mary said she had an opening for me and asked me if I had time for the 60 min massage. I absolutely needed it! Again Mary asked me what were my pain points and areas of concern and it was the most relaxing experience. I walked into Pure Day Spa nearly in tears over feeling overwhelmed and stressed from work and everything else and honestly I was taken care of! I was long overdue for a day to pamper myself. My hair was a frizzy mess and I had two caterpillars instead of eyebrows. My body was aching and I felt wrung out. Holy Smokes!! The team at this spa were fantastic!! From the ladies at reception to every staff member, everyone wanted to ensure I had a great experience! I scheduled for a massage, facial and haircut. The massage therapist and esthetician spent so much quality time with me before performing any service (to ensure it was a wonderful experience) that I was running late for the next therapist. They said, No worries! Relax! We will sort out the schedule! And they did! Of course I was late for the haircut but My stylist still took the time to ask me a ton of questions about my hair and how I normally wash it, etc. I then got a top notch cut and blow dry! My mother and I went for a hot stone massage today and it was fantastic! My mom had received a gift certificate and was nice enough to bring me along. This was our very first massage and our massage therapist were Amy and Nari (I'm so sorry if I spelt that wrong). They did such a fabulous job explaining everything to us before starting! Nari was very gentle and applied just the right amount of pressure to get all the kinks and tension out of my neck and back! My mother reported that Amy was also fabulous as well. I booked myself a mini spa day for my birthday and what would have been my first pedicure, facial, and massage since having my daughter a year and a half ago. I booked the appointment 2 weeks beforehand for the specific date, and confirmed the timeline of all 3 services with the receptionist. I was very much looking forward to being pampered! I arrived well ahead of time so I wouldn't feel rushed or stressed, and while the waiting room was very bright and clean, the receptionist was not as friendly or welcoming as I would expect for a day spa. She basically just abruptly asked for my name to check me in and that was about it. My 60-minute full body massage with Amy was first, followed by the facial which was also with Amy. I've never had a facial immediately following a massage and it was truly SO relaxing! Amy was very good and this review doesn't reflect that part of my experience - I would definitely go back to Amy! My pedicure was going to be last, but the nail tech said she was double booked or something and couldn't accommodate me. I was honestly in such a relaxed state of mind that I just said "okay" to rescheduling the pedicure and went to pay for the services I did receive. Again I was expecting more of a friendly customer service experience, or at the very least an apology from the receptionist - I got more of an apology from Amy and the nail tech than from anyone potentially responsible for the scheduling mixup. The receptionist didn't even acknowledge the mixup, didn't ask how my massage/facial was, didn't really say ANYTHING except how much I owed. The whole interaction felt very businesslike and just not what I would except from a place you go to spend money to pamper yourself. Needless to say, I had worn sandals expecting to show off my pedicure at my birthday lunch, but instead I had to explain my sad, unpainted toes and my overall disappointment with what was a much anticipated day. Unfortunately the pampering started and stopped in the massage room. Considering they charge a 30% fee on no shows and cancellations, it would have been nice to receive the same discount for a future service seeing as I didn't get a pedicure because of THEIR mistake. read more

The BEST spa in the Poconos! I went here a few days before my wedding to treat myself and relax before the big day and they totally provided a welcoming experience. I was there for about 3 hours and had gotten a: full body massage, deep cleansing facial and sea salt scrub. Everything was absolutely amazing. They really took the time to make sure I had every accommodation that I needed and I was happy with the services being performed. While this spa is a very beautiful and peaceful environment, I must say my actual service was very much disappointing and underwhelming given the reviews I saw. I went with a group of three girls to get spa pedicures and the whole thing was just incredibly awkward. Nail techs made no effort to make conversation with any of us. The application of the polish was done very well, but the massage we paid extra for was severely lacking. The most disappointing thing was towards the end of the appointment all three of our nail techs disappeared after telling us they would be back to spray our nails with the quick dry spray. One of them did return to do so for one of us, but the other two were left sitting there confused and waiting for about 15 minutes before we just put on our shoes and left. All three left without saying a word to us and we did not even know the appointment was over. Would not recommend, but maybe some of the other nail techs had better customer service abilities. read more

I was extremely disappointed today. As a new mom of a 6 month old I was really looking forward to my deep tissue massage that my husband had gifted me for my birthday. When I arrived for my appointment, I made Ashley aware of the pain and knots in my back especially my shoulders. I asked her to use the majority of my 90 minute massage on those problems areas, and she agreed she would. Well- that's where she started and lasted just about 20-25 min. The rest of my 70 min massage consisted of nothing deep at all. It felt more like I was just getting lathered with OIL rather than rubbed for a massage. I haven't had a mani in years and decided to treat myself, for my partner's Christmas party. I was able to schedule a 12:30 appointment, so I could go during my lunch hour. Here's the thing, Pure has staff on-call. Marnie was gracious enough to come in within an hours notice. When I got there she was ready and waiting for me, and I arrived early. We went as a bridal party, some getting mani's, pedi's, some both... our bride made our appointments, they called her yesterday to confirm appointments... our bride verified we could chose what service we wanted when we got there ... well we arrived and we each stated what service we wanted... well the owner literally got into the brides face- stating you booked mani's & pedi's, 2 hour slots for each girl andI turned away customers and now there are open slots where the technicians are not making money, you were told about the cancellation policy ... the owner Mary Nauman was literally argumentative and rude to our bride... the technicians were great but with how unprofessional this owner was I would not recommend going to this facility .... Response to your comment Mary: The bride did confirm the day before but it seems as though the staff member who called to confirm was uneducated in your policies. You should review what happened with your employee not the customer. Regardless of what occurred, it was wrong of you to talk to someone like that who was getting married the next day.
