They did a great job on our couples massage. Only reason for one less star is because the rooms are separated by curtains. During our massage someone came in for their appointment and they were very loud talking on his phone and had some of his personal alarms go off. I went on an end of the summer budget vacation determined to get a massage. I shopped around online to look for a comparatively affordable day spa so that I wouldn't have to pay over a $100 for a 60 minute massage in the other spas around the Poconos. I found out about this place and saw that they had really great hours (10-10). Aside from having a hard time communicating over the phone due to the woman's heavy accent I decided to go with it because of the decent price. So first off I have to say that I did have a really relaxing massage. The woman (who I'm pretty sure owns the place) seemed to really know what she was doing. I came 9pm so it was nice and quite even with the sectional "rooms". It felt amazing and I would've left on cloud 9 had I not left on a sour note. So I paid $60 for a 60 min massage. If I had more money I definitely would've tipped her right away. However, I'm a full time college student who has a part-time job that pays minimum wage (something around $9-10 an hour--way less than she's getting) and $60 was a splurge on my budget vacation. And, like I said it seems she is the business owner. When I paid she asked me for a tip. I didn't have much cash on me and I gave her a dollar. She laughed in my face and her coworker (a man, who is probably her partner) did too. She said "Haha, so funny, $1 tip," and told me to give her at least $10. Despite the rudeness of telling me how much I should give her, I told her I'd love to be able to and that it's not because she didn't deserve it but I couldn't afford that much more. She laughed again. i was up visiting my mom from philly and we decided to try to find a massage place. after looking on yelp at pretty much every place in the lehigh valley i came across this place. the website reminded me of the palce i go to reguarly in philly-no frills, good price, and what i figured (correctly, as it turns out) would be a great massage. body renew is clean and quiet, and the women were kind and friendly. we got the couples massage, which is 90 min for $150-can't beat that! the massages were fabulous. the women used plenty of pressure, which i love, and the foot massage was one of the best i've ever had. i will definitely be going back. oh, and our masseuses' names were kelly and mary. read more

I recently developed severe back pain thanks to my job. I work as a clerk sitting in front of a computer all day. My doctor advised me to get massage therapy to relieve my back pain. I looked up craiglist and found Body Renew at 696 Milford Rd. in East Stroudsburg. I called and the girl who answered the phone was really polite and nice. There was slight trouble conversing in English but it didn't really bother me as the girl were really courteous to talk with. Her name was Kelly. We settled on a 90 minutes swedish massage on Friday afternoon at 2pm. The price was very fair at $75. Like the other review mentioned, Body Renew is located in a strip mall on the corner of Milford Rd. and Route 447. There are two entrances and exits so it's not too bad to get into the strip mall parking lot. The inside of the store was quiet and soothing with a feeling of relaxation. We started massaging right on time at 2pm. The bed was not the best but it's ok and feel comfortable. The swedish massage Kelly gave me was a kind of gentle but firm massage just for my kind of back pain. You could tell she had been working as a massage professional for many years and she was excellent at it. 90 minutes flew by fast and my back felt really relieved afterwards. They've earned my business and I now frequent Body Renew at least once a week. If you have similar problems with back pain, sole muscle, shoulder and neck pain, I think you will feel much better after you visit this place. read more

Body Renew...more like Body Don't Do...EVER. I can't believe this place stays in business. I booked a couples massage for my wife and I and when I made the reservation requested both of us to have a female masseuse. When we arrived we were taken behind two hanging sheets, not into a private room. Not only can you hear everything going on within Body Renew such as other people breathing, phones ringing, people going in and out, and timers going off but you can hear everything in the businesses on both sides of the building. As for the massage. In most places I've gone to you get a form to fill out before your massage to indicate any injuries or places to avoid. Not here. Also my wife was given a male when she requested a female. His finger nails were so long they were scratching her. You would think a couples massage would happen together at the same time...not the case at Body Renew. We booked for 5pm. My wife's massage started at 5 but no one came to start my massage until 530. So my wife is halfway done before I even began. I just laid there for a half hour waiting. During the massage it was like we were their least concern. My lady stopped to answer the phone during my massage TWICE. The guy massaging my wife left in the middle of the massage to assist another guest at the register. Needless to say we did not feel inclined to leave a tip at the conclusion of the services we received and yet the lady insisted we do and acted confused as if she'd done nothing wrong. Let me start off explaining my reasoning for 2 stars and not one. The lady that works there (there was only a lady & a bald headed man when we were there. I assumed owners) was very very nice & that is the only reason for 2 stars. It was difficult for my husband and I to find it since we are not local, but we eventually found it in a strip mall with a Chinese food place next to it & a bagel place called "hot bagel". We walk in & we are greeted & taken to this room which isn't really a room it's separated with curtain rods & curtains .. Not very private. She has us get ready to lay face down & she informs me the man will be doing my massage. I told him I would prefer a "medium" massage since that's what I normally get. As I'm laying there trying to enjoy this bizarre massage you start hearing banging & muffled voices from the Chinese place right next door! During my 50 minute "hot stone massage" I had to practically fight back tears from how painful it was. He used the hot stones for about 3 minutes which is not what I'm used to & he was rough with them on my back! After that disappointing & painful massage it's time for our 40 minute foot massage. At this point my husband is snoring, let me say the heels of my feet are literally bruised. He kept doing this awfully painful "technique" all over my feet!! It felt like he was using his thumb to dig into my heel, toes, sides of my feet, ALL OVER. I was close to telling him to stop many many times but I didn't want to interrupt my husband who seemed to really enjoy it. After waking up my back is in horrific pain. I'm going to need another massage as soon as I return home. I will never go back. read more

definitely a no frill place that offers reasonable prices...will i go back, for sure! friend had the 90mins deep tissue massage and at times was hoping for more pressure....overall, enjoyed and felt pretty good afterwards. place was very clean including the restroom and staff/owners were very pleasant. my only gripe was occasional noisy footsteps or people speaking above a whisper. it can be annoying and distracting since you are not in an enclosed room but only in cubicle-like rooms w curtain covering the doorway. as stated, no frill but well worth a visit if you need a good affordable massage....and who doesn't?! read more

I personally am very particular with my massage that prior establishments never seemed to listen to my requests.. Went in to cancel my account a few weeks prior to delivery of my baby due to not being able to work out for some time post-delivery. I was told that instead of canceling my account that if I brought in a doctors note about my pregnancy that they would be able to put my account on a hold for up to 12 months. I brought in provider documentation and was told my account would be put on hold for 12 months with no charges to my account. Two to three months post pregnancy I noticed my card was still being charged: I called, they apologized and said that it would be fixed. I have yet to receive a reimbursement and as of today six months later my card is still being charged monthly and I have not received a reimbursement even though every time I speak to a representative my account states that a hold is in place. I would not recommend this place due to the lack of disorganization and inability to follow through with their commitment. read more
