I could hear the phone ring, people talking, and could smell someone's lunch. It was all very distracting, but I had bought a few so I had to come back to just hope for the best. I guess they had read complaints about those things because the next time I came, my door was closed and the masseuse asked if I wanted a face massage and went to wash her hands first. I've come a few times now, on and off Groupons, and think they are great. I often come after the gym so my muscles are very tight at first, but I always feel a world of difference after. Not quite a 5 because they still have to leave the room for the hot stones and sometimes have a quick chat out there. It's only about a minute but is a little disruptive for the mood. Also, the ambience could be improved. Sometimes there's no music so I can hear the cars passing. Also, maybe some aromatherapy scents might be a nice touch. Overall, I've been to a few places since moving down here and I always come back.

I even said I like a very soft massage before we started. soft should be easy but apparently not for her. My biggest issue is that Selina, the owner, gave me a great massage last week and told me if I came back next time, she would devote 1 hour to just my shoulders which were very tight- I appreciated this, agreed and rushed my schedule to fit this in less than a week because of her promise. Today, I came today for my appointment, even called 30 minutes beforehand to confirm that I'd get a massage from her, and they said yes. Instead, when I walked in, she said she was sick and that someone else would be giving me my massage. If this was the case, why didn't anyone say so when I called beforehand to confirm? I squeezed in time on a very busy schedule because of her promise. Instead I got someone else, and also didn't get the focused shoulder massage by her so it felt like a waste of time and money- I felt tricked. If I had been conveyed this information, there would be more trust in this service, and I could make better decisions on whether I decide to come anyway, or another time in a few months for a massage I feel is worth the price. The price list said that $60 was for 60 minutes, $90 was 90, etc. I chose 90 minutes and asked if I could use my debit card. They said yes, but it would be an additional $7 charge. I figured fine, I was in pain. It was an ok massage, definitely nothing special, but when I tried to communicate with her she really, really didn't understand what I was saying. So I gave her what I thought she deserved as a tip (I'm usually a great tipper, but also fair), and she shook her head and told me that for a $97.00 massage, she wanted twice as much. I think she understood the expression on my face when I walked out.
