I have had this discussion with you or your staff at least 4 times. You , yourself have told me they are expired. Each time I am finished with a service I get a hard time about my certificates . I was told that I should have informed the staff that I have old and new certificates. The staff is in front of the computer . How do I know which ones they are using. On top of the fact , the amount used to purchase the certificates don't expire , as per the law! You and your staff have argued with me about this. Last time I was told one certificate had $60 something dollars on it but your staff said that must be a mistake because it says I was only owed lunch in a package . Which is it , lunch or $60 . This is unacceptable. Now that I write bad reviews everywhere, now you want to give me the gift certificate value. This review is simply about the cuatomer service. This place should receive a negative in customer service as I never actually got a chance to be services. I must warn anyone that does not fit into a size 2 that this is NOT the place for you. The first time I called for an appointment they never called me back. The second time I called wanted to schedule an appointment and advised her that I was a larger woman and would this be a problem. I was told that it might so she would fit me in with a person named Carlie the person sounded unsure so I asked would you feel more comfortable asking your boss she was like yes because I'm not sure if we've ever done larger people here. (Okay let's stop.....did she just say that?) So she said she would check with her boss and call me right back needless to say she never called me back thus: FAT SHAMING IS TOLERATED AT THIS SALON! I'm fairly new to the world of massages. I got my third-ever massage here at Beaver Brook, which opened about a month ago. Not being from Hunterdon, I found the location pretty difficult and frustrating to get to. But, I called to explain I would be late for my massage and was met with nothing but calm and reassurance. My massage was incredible (thank you Carla!) and I wasn't rushed out even though I was late. A one hour massage is still at an excellent introductory price ($60; the word "introductory" makes me think it might change soon). I'm looking forward to coming back for more. read more

The Day Spa is clean and very relaxing with soft music playing throughout the rooms. I never feel rushed or uncomfortable. Very easy to make appointments with the friendly receptionist at the front desk and the hours are helpful to those that work late. I receive my services (waxing and massages) from Carla and she is the best! She is very professional and listens to your wants and needs. While this was my first visit to the Beaver Brook Day Spa, my daughters and I have been clients of Kirsten for a number of years. My daughter and I needed eyebrow waxing so I called for an appointment and we were given a time that worked well for us. Kirsten greeted us in the reception area and took us back into the waxing room. Everything in the place was very peaceful and welcoming. Kirsten talked to us about how we wanted our brows shaped. Hard wax is used at the spa and it is so much less painful than strips. As always, Kirsten was pleasant and professional -- it's why we followed her to the Beaver Brook Spa! We've been to nail salons and had our brows waxed in a pinch but I highly recommend having them waxed and shaped by Kirsten at the Beaver Brook Day Spa. You won't regret it! read more

I have been to This spa twice already. I decided to go there after reading their amazing reviews. My esthetician is Kristen who is amazing. On my first visit-she explained me everything in detail and put me at ease. My facial was amazing and I felt great afterwards. Getting massage from her while getting the facial is great- she's just the best. Not even once she tried to push products on me but did educate me about the product-line eminence Organics. She gave me a couple of samples which I tried& I loved most of them. Second time, I had her write me a list and then I bought all those products and I love them. Best Brazilians ever!! I followed Valeria here when she opened Beaver Brook, and despite being a 30 minute drive from work she's well worth it!! She really takes her time to get you clean, the waxes last for weeks, and she's so much fun to talk to! For a great Brazilian wax, you have to go to a great Brazilian waxer!. I've gone here twice now for Brazilian bikini waxes with Carla; she's awesome! She works quickly and uses only hard wax. She also abides by general safety and hygiene standards- such as never ever re-dipping the waxing sticks. I think it says a lot, too, on how relatively pain-free this last waxing was given that I am 39 weeks pregnant! Making an appointment was easy and the front desk staff was nice. Upon arrival for my spa day I was pleasantly surprised by the soothing music and well decorated office. I had my facial first and Kristen was wonderful. She provided customized care for my skin. My massage was next and it was great. I can't remember her name but the masseuse was very friendly but professional. Lastly, I had a wax. I'm very picky with where I go for a wax. The same lady that did my massage also did my wax. Ordered gift certificates for my wife and a friend for a 1 hr. massage each. When the wife tried to book the massage was told they do not do 1 hr. massages. (yet they list them on website and in brochure) When they arrived they were told No 1 hr. massages and had to take a 30 min. massage and a 30 min. mini facial which they didn't want and had to pay extra on top of the gift certificate that they had. Why advertise and sell a service you do not intend to honor? Wife said massage was fantastic but this was a crappy way to cheat a person out of a 1 hr. massage. I will never purchase another gift cert. from this place and the wife will never be going back. read more

I just had a wonderful facial with Carla today! I feel so relaxed and my skin looks and feels great! I have been a client of Carla's for many years but this is my first time writing a review. I am very picky about who waxes my eyebrows and Carla is a perfectionist so needless to say I am always happy with the results! Thank you Carla! From time to time, I also see Joan. She is also great. Always has a smile! I usually see Joan for waxing or a facial If Carla is booked or if I want microdermabrasion. I like both ladies and feel fortunate that they are both at Beaver Brook Day Spa. The day Spa is beautiful. I have had many facials and massages in my lifetime. I enjoy going to this Spa because I feel welcome by the staff and the Spa is clean. This is an important factor to me. I ended up at this spa because of a really bad wax experience elsewhere. I had never been so red and irritated. If I had not been waxed years prior, I would have been too scared to have it done again. That said, I read some good reviews on Beaver Brook Day Spa (and saw they use hard wax) so I gave a ring to set an appointment. It was easy to set an appointment and the staff was friendly. I had a Brazilian wax with Carla and it was wonderful. She was efficient but professional and accurate. There was no pain, I had no lingering irritation of my sensitive skin, and the results were smooth and clean (without her going to town with tweezers to clean up). I will be back and highly recommend to friends. The only downfall is that this place is in a strange location off 31 so it took a bit of trial and error to get there. read more

I booked the Perfecting Clarifying Facial using a SpaFinder gift card I had received as a birthday gift. The receptionist was kind and courteous and I found out they use Eminence products, an organic line from Hungary, which is good. I was introduced to my aestician, Carla. I felt as if she was in a hurry to do my facial. She was rough and kept leaving the room (she did it twice), which didn't make me feel relaxed at all. I wasn't sure if she forgot products or what, but each time she left she touched the doorknob twice then proceeded to touch my face, which grossed me out. I won't be going back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Elaine was excellent! I had a hot stone massage after a particularly grueling kickboxing class and it was exactly what I needed. She was firm enough to work out the kinks in my muscles, but gentle enough so she didn't hurt me where I was already sore. Everyone in here is so, so nice - even when I got the time of my appointment wrong and showed up half an hour late! I was looking for a new wax place and saw Beaver Brook Day Spa while driving down Rt. 31. I decided to check out the reviews on Yelp and since they looked okay, I called and made an appointment. The receptionist was very nice and sweet, and was able to book me an appointment for me within the next few days. The spa is in the Beaver Brook complex off rt. 31. You need you park on the side/back and then enter a hallway if you will, and then enter the spa. The inside was very serene and peaceful. Lights are dimmed, there is tranquil music playing while you wait on a nice fluffy couch for someone to get you. I met with Carla and immediately felt at ease. She was very down to earth and was very professional. The wax room looks a bit like a dr office and brighter than the other rooms, but that is pretty standard with other places i've been. I was happy to see that they don't "redip" the wax. She used a new stick with each application. Prices are average/reasonable too. I was very happy that I tried them out, and booked my next appointment already. Definitely must try and ask for Carla (the owner)! read more

I have been getting facials most of my adult life and at some point the aesthetician steps out, darkens the lights, and lets you relax while they take a 5-10 minute break. Best deep tissue massage by Renee. She finds every single knot in your body and loosens every tight muscle. I have never had such a knowledgeable massage therapist in my life. She is truly capable of deep tissue massages since she's strong, but can cater to any pressure. Every massage is tailored to you. She doesn't just go through the same moves with every massage (what I have been used to in the past), but truly customizes each massage. I have never had the same massage twice with her since she really pinpoints knots and tightness and adjusts the session around your body. She knows what she is doing, and she is great at it!
