Came to this salon this morning to get my hair and makeup done for a friends' wedding. It was quite the production! There were a lot of staff on hand to help us all get ready, and they were so sweet! The decor in the salon is gorgeous, it's very white and clean. They have large windows letting in a lot of natural light, which is wonderful. It doesn't have that dark, cavelike atmosphere that some small salons with no windows have. The salon has a clean and spacious bathroom, a keurig fully stocked with good coffee and fixings, and the stylists were so helpful. They have Kevin Murphy and Moroccan Oil products to offer (love Moroccan oil's argan oil)! They have glo-minerals makeup, which I'm not a fan of, but the ladies that were doing makeup for the bridesmaids and bride were using a large range of professional makeup brands (urban decay, MAC, etc.) Kate did my hair and she did a wonderful job! She did a great job making my fine, straight hair look beautiful and voluminous in the up do that I chose. I showed her a Pinterest picture and she did a great job recreating what I wanted. Renee did a great job with my makeup, I love that she started by asking how I did my makeup every day. When I asked her for extra coverage for my rosacea she did an awesome job making sure that my makeup was on lockdown. The ladies that were doing hair were so friendly and efficient, finishing ahead of schedule in most cases, and doing an excellent job! Renee did such a great job of making the bride feel special, and kept the energy in the room high (even through a three hour beauty session)! This is an attractive salon in Portage. I don't know much about their array of services. I go every few weeks to get my hair cut by Emily. I can always trust her to make me look and feel great! There is complimentary coffee and tea and there is a variety of products for sale. That's about all I know. read more

So I went here strictly on the Yelp reviews. Pretty bold, right!? I know. I was soooooo nervous, but was dead set on finding my forever stylist here in my own city and not driving to Battle Creek anymore. I cold-called and spoke with a sweet young lady who set me up with Jennifer. She chose her for me for our hair similarities. Good choice. And coincidentally, my desired cut was almost identical to Jennifer's old cut. I'm anxious to wash it and do it myself. The building itself is beautifully done with its crisp and clean white, black and teal. The 4 out of 5 stars is for the parking. Drive in & out of the entire lot (back onto Centre!) 3 times for a spot before inevitably parking next door. The dude mowing should've, perhaps, not taken a spot if they have so few available. This is my second time coming in to this place of business for lash extensions. Today Marissa was my technician. She was awesome! I love my lashes even better than last time. She explained everything and went about applying them quietly and efficiently. She had a great sound track of music going. She also had a throw blanket and the whole experience was relaxing and great! The location is clean and friendly. They discount the second time around. I'll go back if in need of extensions again!! We had an apt for 5 bridal party members for hair and make up in September, 2018. We arrived for our apt and found the business closed! The shop had called my residence for a credit card number to charge for the appointment in case we didn't show up a couple weeks before the scheduled date and given the names of the two ladies who would be working with us. And they were closed when we arrived! NO excuse is good enough to cover this one! read more

Very rude customer service. I went in there (walk in) for wax appointment and no one was there to help me out for more than 25 minutes. There were no customers beside me and all the salon people saw me but didn't bothered to help me and told me to wait for the receptionist. After 25 minutes the receptionist arrives and told me there is no availability. In the meanwhile nobody greeted or asked me to have a sit. Anyways the receptionist told me that she can book my appointment for tomorrow. But with this insulting behavior, I decided not to deal with them and give them extra space they need! read more

It was my first time here. I went to see Sarah N. (Master stylist) I love love my eyelash extensions. She applied natural extensions. It was comfortable. I may have even have slept during part of it. I definitely will recommend her. Very nice and professional. Before I left, I tried to make follow up apptment but she has limited availability. I definitely will go back to this place! Pure Lash & Beauty Salon is one of the best salons in the Portage & Kalamazoo area. They use and carry top of the line products that you can't find nearly anywhere local like Moroccan Oil, Kevin Murphy & Glo Minerals. The salon is so comfortable, clean & contemporary with the cutest white and teal design palette. I absolutely love coming in to get my hair done by Christine. She is so good at giving me the look I desire while offering her expertise advice on what would look best. I've NEVER left disappointed and recommend all my friend and family to come see any of the talented girls here at Pure. You have to come try one of their many services they offer!! read more

Came here for a Brazilian wax today, and I have burns all over me. This isn't my first time getting a wax either, I've been doing this continuously for almost 9 months. Such a waste of money($65?!?! Really?!?) I have never had an experience like this with a wax even on my first time. If you need a good place to go, I would recommend Elina Organics on S Westnedge. I will NEVER be coming here again. The girl who waxed me left a bunch of hair on, and I had to call her back in the room to have her get everything. The quality of service isn't worth this pain and the money. read more

I drive by Pure Lash & Beauty almost every day and when I needed to find a new esthetician I checked out Pure. Sarah N had texted me so we could schedule after hours and she was able to squeeze me in for a last minute Saturday morning appointment for a wax. Sarah was great and made me feel comfortable. Made sure to schedule my next appointment within the next 4 weeks which allows me to have a bit of a discount for returning. The location is clean, modern and bright. Highly recommend. read more
