Went here for the first time today when I decided to get a mani/pedi on a Saturday on a whim. This was, seriously, the tenth place I called, and the first that could get me in right away. When I first walked in, I was impressed by how large and uncluttered it was. The stations are spaced decently apart so you don't feel crowded, and it all looks so clean. I went for the deluxe pedicure and Shellac manicure. While the pedicure itself wasn't anything special (the water was too cold, and I should have said something), my nails (both fingers and toes) look fantastic. She was super meticulous with the shaping and polish, and I'm thrilled with the result. I plan to be back, and if it remains consistent, this could totally be a five star place for me. read more

Some people don't listen. I said nothing off my length (they are my natural nails). Leo took a drill to the length of them. He said that's what I wanted. I asked for a discount because that's not what I wanted, and chose to put a white French tip on to make them feel longer to me. He gave me only $5 off which is insane. Then proceeded hover as I tipped and finished it off with a laugh when I didn't tip. I said I want to keep my length in the beginning!! I almost walked out in tears because I felt bad but it's not what a I wanted. My natural nails take forever to grow. read more

I've given this place more than one chance and every single time I have been disappointed. they are very rough and drill on your skin. they leave nails crooked and different shapes, lumpy and overly thick nails. I used to love this place and recommend it to everyone. They have really gone downhill. They no longer allow us to make appointments online and the last two times I called to book a certain tech, the person I scheduled with was not there. The last pedicure I had was horrible. The woman who did it was rather rude (my adult children's words) as they were sitting next me getting their toes done. I was then rushed out of my chair to go up front and pay while my adult children were allowed to sit and give their toes time to dry. Vincent agreed to do a chrome dip manicure as I requested but clearly didn't know how. He repeatedly attempted until the nail was several millimeters too thick. When I showed him it was too thick, he got upset with me and told me he wasn't going to do the chrome and dremeled the surface of all of my nails down and put a regular top coat on. Now I not only don't have chrome as requested, my dip is also too thin in places because he filed them too far, the shape of my nails is inconsistent, and the manicure is just sloppy with top coat spilling over the sides of some nails and missing in other places. I told him I was unhappy and it wasn't what I wanted and he still charged me $45. When I asked what his name was at checkout, he refused to tell me and I had to ask another associate for his name. The service I got was pretty good however I was not satisfied with my end result. In the pictures below you can clearly see I did not get what I asked for. Where did the pink come from? That was supposed to be white. My nails are very blocky, different lengths, my nail didn't get coated all the way in polish, the lines stop halfway on my nail, and they curve at the ends. This place is such a hit or miss, but lately the misses far outweigh the hits. The techs are extremely rude, talk constantly making it hard to relax. I can usually ignore that. But the quality is also down - I now leave feeling like I didn't have anything done. Don't even bother with pedicures, they off handedly slap some cream then change color. Can be very very pricey especially with the 2.5% increase when using a credit or debit card that would probably be my biggest pet peeve about the business! First place i went to get my nails done since moving to portage and they gave me exactly what I asked for and we're quick!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! The owner, Brian, he said he could do my nails that day since they didn't have any nail techs available. For being the owner, he sure was unprofessional, rude, my nails look like it was his first day doing nails. It was like going into a chop shop! He just sat me in a chair and just did some random work on them to make it appear as if they were done. They were very thin, rough underneath to the point that they were snagging and ripping underneath. Very jagged, the acrylic was splattered all over my fingers. He dug into my skin with the Dremel causing a few of my fingers to have knicks in them. Never even acknowledged that he did it. He asked what color polish that I wanted. I showed him, he kept talking over me, so I pointed to the color. Once it came to putting color on my nails, about 20 minutes later, he asked me again. I told him the color that I wanted was on one of the samples he took away. He looked at me and in a digusted tone asked me, "You don't even remember the color?" And he made a pffft, sound at me. I was treated so rude through this entire visit. Way over priced, dirty and it just appears that they are trying to push people through. It 's a sweat shop that Brian is running. He is disgusting with the younger girls that come in to the shop. Meaning, if your twenty something, he only has eyes for them. It's very uncomfortable the small talk he makes trying to impress us. He grabbed onto my hand so tight as well. Oh, and make sure you don't hit the percentage amount on the tip screen. The amount it shows is not correct and is actually more! That part is a scam. Just put your own tip amount in, if you even do a tip there. Do NOT trust what they have programmed in there!! I would not recommend having your nails done at this place. Very unprofessional. They are trying to be upscale, but definitely are not. Also, hopefullly you don't get stuck with a girl named Jenny. Talk about rude, doesn't answer when you ask her a question, just grunts and when she does answer she snaps at you. Very moody and unapproachable. And not impressed with the way she did my pedicure. I would not go back to her. Definitely think twice before going to this sweatbox to have your nails done. It is one of the worst nail places that I have ever been. read more

Well here I am, editing my review. I absolutely HATE doing this, I do NOT like leaving bad reviews at all!! I kept my daughter home from school, we were going to have a special "girls day " I wanted her to get some cute nails for her upcoming birthday. I made the appointment online, which it NEVER told me it was made, I just hoped. No conformation. Nothing, although it asked for a phone and email? So we went in today. We sat next to each other and my daughter was given colors to pick from. I on the other hand.... was not. I sat and got asked 3 words. Short or long? I said short. Sat the whole hour in silence. When it comes to the color, she said "what color" didn't show me what to choose from . So I said "light pink, like my daughters sweatshirt" and pointed to it, (I'll put a picture with my review) so she brings back a color and that was it. My daughter had a gold glitter she used so I grabbed it, at least I liked that! Well the outcome looks terrible and I'm so unhappy with my nails AND how much it cost. $75 for the freaking 2 of us. When we first got there I said she wanted polish. POLISH I didn't say manicure. Never did I utter the words MANICURE! I have BUMPS in my polish, my thumbs are shorter than my other nails, my right pinky has a little blip on the end, kinda pokey and the left nail has a damn wave to it!!! I went to get a pedicure here and will never again. The lady cut my big toenail at an angle, kept having her try to fix it only made it worst. I asked to have my legs washed off so I could leave but instead a new girl came and fixed it a little. I was ignored, I asked for the 33.00 pkg and was charged 49.00. My granddaughter (14) was there and asked for the 38.00 acyrilic nails and when done was charged 53.00. They take advantage of older and younger people. They make a BIG deal when you speak up and I was humiliated with all eyes on me when I tried to quietly just stop and leave. Will not recommend or visit this place again. I knew better; Went in for a full set because of a scheduling error for my normal tech based in Grand Rapids. One thumb had barely any acrylic on it while others were SO thick. I mentioned it. Already disillusioned from my experience as I was told this was one of the better salons in Kalamazoo.... It was apparent they were speaking about me with the language barrier to hide behind. (I find extremely disrespectful) -Space between real nail and tip would have immediately caused separation with the first shower as well as running huge fungal risk. Asked to change services to just soak them off as 4 of the 10 needed to be taken off and put back on because of the huge space where water would go right in anyway. - Didn't even sit through the entire soak off process. The blatant crap talking was enough for me as well as them assuming they knew what's best. I should have never lowered my standards to go into a chop shop salon anyway. -Still paid the $20 and tipped $5 because I'm not a horrible human being. But I won't be going back to a salon where I'm mocked to tears by unskilled immature staff/owners. read more

I've tried this place several times and either they're SO good or SO bad. One time a guy asked me if I was expecting my first child, I'm not pregnant. Most recently I got a no-chip manicure and three days later the top 2 layers peeled off. They never do high quality work and it's just not worth the price for the level of service they do. A no-chip only last about a week and they should last at least 2. My pedicures are always jacked up and they give you 3 swatches of colors to pick from when they have about 50 hanging up. Don't waste your time, there's other places that are better. read more

Is there seriously no good place in Kalamazoo or Portage to get a decent manicure and pedicure? I'm not asking for much. Just something that doesn't look like a four year old did it or like I did it myself with my eyes closed. This place was busy, super loud and of course said they'd get me right in, but an hour later I was still sitting and waiting. They just want your money and don't want you to leave. Two women did leave while I was there because they were tired of waiting. The young man who did my nails was friendly, but it was obvious he had no clue what he was doing. He had no help and when I pointed out to the female manager that they were very sloppy, she looked at my polish and said they could "redo them" but would be another hour and they were closing soon. I told her never mind... I just won't ever come back. I don't think the salon realizes that eventually they're going to push everybody away with bad service and sloppy manicures and pedicures. I had made an appointment for Sunday when they first opened. I arrived and the place was packed. Even though it just opened the place had no pedicure chairs except in the VIP area. This was fine but why should I have to pay more to sit in there va out in the other room? I have an appointment after all, but yet they stuck me in this area and charged me more. Even now I never said I wanted to be in there. I was in a hurry and wanted just a basic pedicure and manicure with gel. They assigned the oldest person (no offense, I am getting up there as well.) in the place. He took almost 2 hours to do a pedicure. I guess I could see my frustration because they assigned somebody else to do my nails which took 20 minutes. I wanted to be in and out and that did not happen. The nails and toes were fine as far as the outcome but I don't have that time to waste. read more

Just terrible... I made an appointment for a full set and pedicure for 2 PM. I was sat right away for my pedicure but no one came to offer a color book or turn my water on. When I did pick a color, the color that was put on my nails was completely wrong (I asked for light blue and got a medium gray??) When I pointed it out the employee said she'd fix it with a design but all that got added were a few small lines on my big toes (which she added $8 for!). This is all not to mention my hands, which I had to wait for another hour to get someone to even notice me despite having an appointment. By the time I got sat down it was closing time, so the woman doing my full set was incredibly rough with the filing and nicked the cuticles very badly on two fingers causing them to painfully bleed. They spent half the time trying to up sell me to a more expensive service and telling me to get the shellac because the regular paint I wanted sucks and wouldn't last more than a few hours. The whole thing was rushed to get done (I was there with a wedding party) and it was a bad job. Thy didn't do anything to clean up my cuticles and barely buffed. I watched a guy pick bits of nail and skin off of a used towel used for the previous customer and try to use it for the next lady (I was third in line at that table and was sitting feet away the entire time). Went here for a full set!! Was charged $70 for a shitty job. The lady who did my nails rushed towards the end because she had one of her regulars waiting. She didn't make sure that my nails were shaped evenly. I wanted almond shape nails with green tips. I had a couple of nails that were super crooked. The service was great and they were accommodating to wanting a different color on one nail. Which I have had problems with at other places. I went here last weekend with my teenage daughter. She wanted acrylics that she was paying for and made the appt. All of the other technicians in the place seemed friendly and chatty with their clients. He never spoke to her and when she asked any question, he stared at her blankly. She said he clipped the acrylics too short and he laughed at her kept going. Then he proceeded to cut her cuticles badly when he was smoothing down the nails. Not only was he rude but he cut her badly and never apologized. I didn't know any of this until we got home or we would have marched back in and demanded a refund. read more
