If I could leave less than a one star review, I would. This was the worst doctor experience I've ever had in my life. They made me wait one hour before I actually got to see the doctor. They also DID NOT tell me that the doctor that I booked the appointment with was not there. The front staff and the nurses did not tell me the doctor I booked with wouldn't be there. TRUE MALPRACTICE. The doctor that helped me, Dr. branch, was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever experienced. I told her about how my period pain completely immobilizes me and she said "sorry that's basically just period pain". At one point when I did not want to interact with her anymore because of her dismissive and rude attitude, she asked me "did I say something to piss you off" what kind of doctor asks that.... She also told me to look into eastern practices for help with my pain. I literally couldn't even listen to her, the worst "doctor" I have ever had. Insane. Please please do not book here. I have never left a negative review in my life and I never complain. This was genuinely so so horrible. Left in tears. They also have extremely sketchy pricing. Please stay away. read more

If you're going to have your baby delivered at a major hospital, I highly recommend going to an OB-GYN at that hospital who will also be the one to deliver the baby. Please do not risk your pregnancy care at this dingy clinic with "obgyns" who, I believe, have dubious credentials. I will list my issues below - 1. Drs don't do the ultrasound. I suppose the OB-GYNs at this little clinic are busier than those at Mount Sinai because, instead of the doctor walking you through the ultrasound showing the baby and heartbeat, etc., they send a technician. They don't share what they see on the screen at all, and what is supposed to be a joyful experience (seeing your baby for the first time) ends up being cold and unnatural. During my first ultrasound, they said I "might" have an ectopic pregnancy, but no imaging or video was shown to support this. I didn't have anything to take to another doctor for a second opinion except for the doctor's word that she "might" have seen something. 2. money-grabbing practice designed to charge you as much as possible with unnecessary lab tests. Again, after saying I have an ectopic pregnancy with no proof whatsoever, they told me to come every two days for hCG testing. On top of that, I was being charged for several other tests I had no idea what for, and they were going to town billing my insurance. 3. Rude, unqualified, and lazy staff This place has some of the rudest and laziest staff I have ever encountered anywhere. The front desk staff is obviously out of shape and considers any task that requires them to get up from the chairs they've slumped in an utter inconvenience. I asked a staff member to confirm with the doctor before booking my next appointment, and she started huffing and puffing because, god forbid, I forced her to get up from her chair, and treated me with a very disrespectful demeanor. Ultimately, pureobgyn might be good for a pap smear now and then, but please, please, do not trust this place with something as delicate as your pregnancy. Pregnancy is supposed to be a very optimistic and joyful time, and trust me, pureobgyn is the exact opposite of that, and will suck all the happiness out of your pregnancy. I am now with a new OB-GYN at Mount Sinai, who will also deliver my baby, and my experience is night and day. read more

Worst experience because the charges I received after the visit. I was way overcharged and overprescribed for simple symptom. They billed me for full scan and vascular study which I did not get any heads up that I would end up with a $1450 bill. I had 2 kids and had plenty ob visits in my life and never could I imagine walking out of simple visit with $1450 and their billing office is just not tolerable. Pretty indifferent about the service for pregnancy since they are quick and standardized. For non pregnancy related check ups though, find someone else who won't have a bot cancel your appointment, not rebook it back right away and then charge you a late fee after you show up for your cancelled about because no one called. Everything in the screenshot happened within a min, also before they even opened. They open at 8am so they couldn't have even given away that appointment but hey- what's better than an angry client who will now go to literally any other provider? $75 and a bot. read more

This was, without question, the most troubling experience I've ever had at a medical office. I was seen over 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, with no communication or explanation provided. During what was intended to be a routine birth control procedure, sonograms were performed on me without my knowledge or consent. At no point prior to or during the appointment was this discussed, explained, or authorized by me. I am now being billed significant charges for these sonograms--procedures I neither agreed to nor was made aware of until receiving the bill. This constitutes a serious lapse in informed consent and transparency. Additionally, there was no clear communication about what to expect during the procedure. I experienced unexpected pain and discomfort, to the point of tears, without any effort made to ensure my understanding or comfort throughout the process. I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, especially about medical care, but this experience has been so frustrating that I feel a responsibility to share it. I came to Pure OBGYN hoping to establish care with a provider I could trust. Instead, I've experienced delays, deflection, and consistently unprofessional responses from their administrative team. Four days after my appointment, I reached out to my doctor through the patient portal to follow up on bloodwork. I received no response. I sent multiple follow-ups over the course of a week and heard nothing. Eventually, I emailed info@pureobgyn.com for help. Rather than addressing my concern, I was redirected to someone named Christopher (I still don't know his role, tech?), who was never introduced and is not part of my care team. When I respectfully asked why I hadn't received my results or any communication from my doctor, I was told by someone at info@pureobgyn.com that I was "hurling insults" and "directing negative energy." I asked this person to provide their name and escalate the matter to a manager. Instead, I was dismissed again, and only after that inappropriate reply did I receive the vague statement that my messages had been "forwarded." Still, no one followed up. No one explained what happened. Oh and that same person did eventually reply with "Have a nice day, this is now closed", and that qualifies as "the best support possible"? I attempted to escalate the issue through Klara and was finally connected with Fazia Siddique, who told me a manager would reach out that day. I asked directly: What is the manager's name? How will they contact me -- via email, message, or phone? She replied, "You should expect to hear back today from a manager." That did not answer any of my questions. When I followed up again, I was told the manager "left a voicemail" and his name was Chris. This only deepened the issue. I explained to Fazia -- clearly and professionally -- that voicemail was not an acceptable or reliable method for handling a matter involving medical records, delayed lab follow-up, and serious lapses in staff communication. I asked again for transparency and documentation in writing. None of this was addressed. I was left with no direct communication, no clear acknowledgment of the errors, and still no accountability from anyone in the practice. Eventually, my doctor did respond -- but only after I had chased this issue through three platforms, asked repeatedly for help, and been met with hostility and avoidance. That reply only confirmed what I already realized: that if I hadn't pushed, I never would have heard anything. I had to remind this office to do their job. I had to ask multiple people to communicate with me about my own health. The theme here is clear: I asked for my results, for clarity, and for someone to take responsibility. In return, I was ignored, redirected, blamed, and left with more questions than answers. That's not acceptable in any healthcare setting. Patients should not have to fight for communication. They should not be accused of being "negative" for following up. And they should not be left in the dark when it comes to their care. I'm sharing this in the hope that someone at Pure OBGYN takes a hard look at how patient concerns are being handled -- and in the hope that other patients walk in with eyes wide open. read more

Twice I've come in JUST for my regular annual check up and 1st time I get charged $800 for a sonogram I did not ask for (TMI but doctor couldn't "find" the string of my IUD so she did a sonogram to find out that it was perfectly in place, was not told I'd charged for it). Came back because I thought it was a one off issue and they sounded like nice people, made sure not to allow ANYTHING out of the ordinary, but then was charged for both my annual AND an office visit from the same visit just because when she asked when was my last period I told her I've had it for a month (normal with my IUD) and she marked that "irregularity" down as an office visit. Be cautious before going here. I went in for a routine annual exam and casually mentioned minor cramps and spotting, which I clearly stated wasn't an issue. Without warning, the doctor reclassified my visit as a medical appointment and performed an ultrasound I didn't request--after saying it "shouldn't" cost extra. I was later charged $70 because ultrasounds aren't covered under annual exams. They handed me a paper after the appointment stating this, but not beforehand when it would've mattered. I went for a regular annual check up and ended up with a bill of $781. I wish I never went here. Heed the reviews you see here. DO NOT DO A DAMN THING this place recommends without seeing an itemized list of procedures and costs beforehand, they will try to screw you. I mean it. Don't ask about birth control, don't take a blood test if the dr offers it to you bc everything they say that you think is included in your annual check up isn't. Not the freaking urine test is included the second year I went here. Makes absolutely no sense bc the first year on my same damn plan everything went through just fine no issues. The doctor was good but the reception was just clueless and it was embarrassing to have to come back to the desk to pay individually for bloodwork, and other tests. They do not have any paperwork, they want you to do everything on your phone with a failing system which makes it nearly impossible to set up an account in the time you will be sitting there. I went to Pure ObGyn (Flatiron) in March with pelvic pain and other related symptoms. The doctor that I saw referred me to get a pelvic MRI. I scheduled the MRI (it took at least 3 weeks to get scheduled). The day before the MRI, the MRI center called me and told me that they cancelled my appointment because they never received Prior Authorization. I called my insurance company and they told me that Pure ObGyn never put in an MRI P.A. for me; no one had. So I left Pure Obgyn. Three weeks ago, PureObgyn called me and asked if I was still interested in the MRI. I said, "yes." That was the end of that. Six months later, I finally got myself to a new doctor at Mt. Sinai. PROBLEM. We need to get my records from Pure ObGyn. What a nightmare. They couldn't handle getting P.A. submitted for my pelvic MRI; how are they going to get my records to my new doctor? Well, I called today and was told that "the person who handles this is not in." Somehow I am NOT OPTIMISTIC that I will ever get my medical records from them. Do I need to threaten them with a lawsuit to get my records/P.A., etc? I think the best route may be for me to start entirely all over and have my new doctor re-do the tests. This may be easier than hoping that Pure ObGyn will get them to her- and promptly. If it does turn out that the MRI diagnoses ovarian cancer, whenever I actually do get it, it won't be my fault. read more

Despite having strong doctors and clean facilities, the operations at this business are terrible. Their online billing platform and messaging portal never work, leaving patients to advocate for themselves. Their front desk is often unprofessional and forgetful. Nearly every time I go to an appointment I need to remind them to check me in, send me to the lab, etc. There is no visibility into billing or charges, especially when their portal is dysfunctional. You're often made to pay on the spot (NOT for copays). I do trust the doctors and ultrasound techs with my care, but the admin work is unbearable. Will not be coming back here once my baby is born. read more

I came to this OB/GYN to start tracking my pregnancy. The doctor was rude and anxious made me she made feel bad and uncomfortable. This is also my first pregnancy . When I asked the doctor if my partner could come in the doctor was rude saying he's not gonna see anything anyways and if I still want him to come, I told her I know and I still want him to be here to see. I also asked the doctor for prenatal vitamins She was very rude saying that it's the same thing as over-the-counter. She also didn't prescribe me fluoric acid or anything when a lot of mothers told me that doctors usually prescribe that. I don't even know if she wrote me a prescription even though I asked for one for the prenatal vitamins. When I got my ultrasound The lady didn't even let me see and I've had ultrasounds before and they let me see the tablet they just can't explain. Also, this lady who is doing my ultrasound was very unsanitary didn't clean the equipment before putting on the condom. I also noticed when she took off the condom with the same glove that had my body fluids all over it and gel all over her gloves. she took one wipe and wiped the computer with it, and then took off her gloves after wiping her tools as well with the same wipe and dirty gloves. She was also rude when I asked for a picture. worst place ever. also when I got my blood test, the nurse ran around the corner and lost me and then when I asked somebody for help saying where did she go. they told me the nurse would come get me like she didn't just fucking call me and ran away or like i'm dumb a dumb ass. billing was also very unclear I was charged $70 for some reason. And even the lady at the front desk who charged me literally said exact words "one thing is 30 one is thing 20" and it didn't add up. she also originally said its 50$ before changing the price I've gotten ultrasounds before and and bloodwork and it doesn't come out to this much at other places but I paid anyways because I didn't wanna be there anymore. I also notice now that i'm home. i'm getting a yeast infection after my visit. worst place ever. do not recommend. read more

Pure referred me to get a mammogram and ultrasound for a lump - although the dr said it seems fine. After 3 biopsies at a third party location, the results were sent to Pure. Pure sat on these results or lost them (which were positive for cancer) for at least a week and a half. I had to track down my results from Pure by calling multiple times before they scrambled to call me in and tell me that I did have stage 3 breast cancer. FYI after a biopsy the drs at Pure must call you to reveal the results which they failed to do for me. read more

I was completely appalled by their billing practices. I was charged $900 for a first-time prenatal visit--one that I did again two weeks later at a Weill Cornell practice and came to a mere $60 copay. They didn't inform me of unanticipated costs that would only be partially covered by my insurance, and seemed to be adding any procedures they can to squeeze money out of me. I deeply regret going here and can only imagine how insane my medical bills would be if I stayed with them through the full term of my pregnancy. Stay away! read more

I saw Dr. Earnhardt once and will not be returning. I let the front staff know I was running 5-10 late and at one point the receptionist hurried me through paperwork because I "was already late." The medical assistant or nurse was rude and had no bedside manner, maybe the worst part of the experience. Dr. Earnhardt was fine during my appointment but lost my respect when I returned to the lobby for clarification about a billing question and when I began to walk to the elevator, she spoke about me to the receptionist with other people in the lobby. I had my IUD replaced under anesthesia by Dr. Alexander Goncharov and he left a piece of gauze inside me during the procedure. I had the worst cramps of my life a few days after the procedure and went to see Dr. Lina Pilshchik. She pulled a piece of gauze from four days ago out of me, which had caused an infection. Would not recommend Dr. Goncharov, other doctors/nurses at Pure OBGYN have been fine. read more

This review is about the 20th street office. My last appointment was scheduled for 5:40pm. The front desk called me at 5:35pm as I was walking up to the office - to ask if I was still planning on coming in because they wanted to go home. This should have been my warning to turn around and say no I will not be coming but I ignored this rudeness. Second strike - I asked the nurse NOT to tell me my weight so I don't obsess about it, she said ok turn around on the scale so you can't see the number and in the same breath said you weigh "12-". I could not believe it. I was so angry, I always ask that I am not told my weight, this as never has this happened before. During my appointment Dr. Wu only made excuses for the nurse. "It was a long day". Just an apology would have been helpful than making an excuse but no one apologized. It's been months and I am still obsessing. Dr. Wu is rude, condescending and argumentative. She does not listen and every question or attempt to advocate for myself was answered in an argumentative and condescending tone. I don't know how I kept my cool in this appointment. I usually do not let people speak to me the way Dr. Wu did but what do you do when struggling with your health and feel backed in a corner? All I could do was rage cry. Which of course probably contributed to Dr.Wu treating me like a child. I should have gotten up and walked out. There are many other details that happened during this appointment that I am leaving out, I have let my insurance company know and I have relayed them to the office supervisor for this location. I hope for the sake of the other patients that something is done. read more

I have tried many doctors here and it took me a while to find one that I truly felt comfortable with and cared for by. However, Dr Earnhardt eased all of my nerves when I truly was going through a tough time. I will for sure be making her my regular doctor. Generally, I dislike going to the OBGYN, as I have had unpleasant experiences in the past. I have been to Pure OBGYN twice. Both visits have surpassed my expectations. I have been treated with respect, have had my many questions answered and felt heard by both the staff and doctor (super grateful for you Dr. Mbaye!). Their online portal is easy to access and I have had a great experience with the front desk when I have called to schedule my appointments and upon my arrival to the office.
