We used Pure Platinum Party for DJ and Videography for our wedding on October 6, 2018, and could not be any happier with our choice! Honestly, if we hadn't already booked our photographer before meeting with James at Pure Platinum, we would have used them for photography as well. They were easy to reach and communicate with, professional, very in tune with our wants and needs, and quick to make adjustments to our music choices and videography needs at the last minute. Our team on the day of took away any stress we had and it was evident that they were there for us! Everyone had a great time on the dance floor all night with excellent music. Our wishes were met with the music we wanted to hear with awesome choices to complement our picks, as well as adhering to our wishes on our "do not play" list. The DJ kept the crowd excited and amped up all night! Our videographers were also absolutely amazing. We got our 5-minute highlight video back so quickly and it was everything I dreamed it would be. My husband didn't originally want to get videography for the wedding, and is now completely eating his words. We cannot wait to see the full-length video! We cannot thank Pure Platinum Party enough! 2/8/22 UPDATE: It has been 31 days and we have still NOT received our photos. UPDATE: I've now been told that this company might pursue legal action against me. This company has by far given me the worst customer service I have ever experienced as a customer. Working with this company has been stressful, and it's impossible to point to one positive interaction I've had with this company. At this point, all we want is our photos and videos of our wedding that we've paid for in full. My wife and I hired Pure Platinum Party for our wedding on 10/8/21. Here is MY review.. based off of MY truthful and factual experience with this company. These are the assumptive emails I have received from this company. James, the president of Pure Platinum Party is suggesting that "libelous reviews" have been left after my wedding date. I have had nothing but stress, and been given a hard time using this company, and now seems my photos and videos will not be given to me "until this has been thoroughly resolved." It appears they're now delaying providing my wedding photos and videos because of OTHERS' reviews. I have fully paid my contracted amount for these photos and videos, plus all the additional "fees" that came up along the way, and have every receipt. Using this company was the biggest regret of my wedding. A day that is supposed to be so special, and after suffering through a hard year leading up to my wedding with the untimely passing of my two brothers, working with this company made me feel even worse. Highlights: Company outsources vendors - vendors are meeting or working together for the first time on day of event. No flow or clear communication with one another. They charge to change/ move dates - even in a global pandemic. When we asked for flexibility on payment plans, the President James threw the contract in our face. They do not offer any previews or content day of your event - unless you pay an extra fee. And there is a charge for a rushed service - which is still 8-10 weeks after your event. Long story short, working with Pure Platinum Party was a nightmare and the worst decision we made for our wedding. If we could, we would rate them with 0 stars. They provide poor customer service, charge a bunch of extra fees and the photos provided have a very poor quality. They are not helpful or flexible at all, and working with them only adds to the stress of planning a wedding. Below are the details of our experience with them - it is very long, but I would recommend reading it before you decide to move forward with them. Our wedding was on July 17th, 2022 and we decided to hire Pure Platinum in September 2021, when they were promoting a package that included DJ, Photography, Videography and Flowers - based on the reviews and our first call with James, the owner of Pure Platinum, they seemed like a no hassle vendor to work with and we thought it would be more convenient to have everything with one vendor. About 4 months before the wedding, I reached out to James to discuss about the flowers and he called me back saying that he was canceling our flower contract due to circumstances beyond their control - I asked what were the circumstances, and he said: "flower prices have increased exponentially". We were given the options of 1) We could cancel your entire contract for a full refund of your deposits. 2) We could offer you the flower package for $2,995 and draping and decorating the arch would be $850, not including the arch. 3) We can apply your current flowers deposit to your other services and cancel your flower package. We chose to apply the flower deposit to our other services and cancel our flower package so that we wouldn't lose every other contract and because the original contract had the flowers priced at $800 plus $65.66 sales tax plus $176 additional service fee (we were not going to decorate the arch with them). It was very stressing and frustrating to have to find another florist 4 months before the wedding. About 3 weeks before the wedding, we had a 30min meeting with James to go over our agenda and requests for the wedding. At that time, I provided him with a list of all the items we needed, including a microphone for the ceremony - he did not mention about this microphone during our call, and one day before the wedding, he emailed me saying that the microphone was not included, and if I wanted one I would have to pay an extra fee of $125. How did he not mention the additional fee earlier, and decides to charge extra a day before the wedding? To make things worse, this microphone that he charged extra for did not work well, and completely stopped working during our exchanging of vows. After the wedding, I reached out to James to ask about the photos and he said it would take six months for the photos and video to get ready, and that it would not include the raw footage of our wedding, but only a short edited video (including edited parts of out processional and recessional with music overlaid, not the original songs) - what we really wanted was to watch our ceremony with the original songs we picked. I asked for at least the full ceremony video, but he said I would have to buy the full raw footage instead - again, he charged us extra fees. I ended up paying the extra fee so we could have our ceremony video. He then asked me how did things go at the wedding, and I told him about the microphone incident. He not only did not apologize or sympathize, but he blamed the officiant for the microphone issue and came up with a bunch of excuses. I went back and forth with him to explain that the biggest issue was during our exchange of vows, and had to send him several videos from our guests to prove that the microphone was faulty - it was so frustrating and stressful having to deal with him. He finally admitted and apologized about the microphone and sent us a short version of the ceremony, but also included in the email a clause from the contract, stating that all payments are not refundable - we did not even ask for a refund. All we wanted was for him to acknowledge the issue and own it instead of blaming others. 2 months after the wedding, James reached out saying that we could get our photos earlier if we paid an additional rush fee. I asked how long would it take to get the photos if we did not pay the rush fee, and he said 7 months - initially he had told us 6, but he increased to 7 months when we didn't want to pay the extra fee. We ended up paying the extra fee again, just so we could be done and not have to deal with him anymore. We finally received our photos, but they didn't seem to be edited at all and the quality was very poor (low definition, bad lighting, excess background, unleveled photos and noise in some pictures) - We paid so much money to receive poor quality photos that I need to re-edit myself, this is very upsetting and frustrating. I do not recommend them to any couples. read more

My Wife and I had hired Pure Platinum based off a recommendation from a relative. Before I go into any further detail I will start by saying the interaction we had with the actual staff who arrived for our wedding day was nothing short of amazing. The two photographers and videographer were fantastic and a pleasure to work with. The DJ did a great job tailoring to our music choices and ensuring everyone was having a great time on the dance floor. My issues all revolve around the owner, dealing with him was By far the worst part of our wedding process. Every interaction he was attempting to upsell us on something for only "125$" from a second microphone to a drone, he couldn't get it through his head we didn't want any of that. Then he would drop the price to only "100$" because he felt like we really needed it. We did not need it, and we did not want it, but that did not matter to him. The unnecessary stress he caused was just that, unnecessary. From the constant emails back and forth always rushing my wife to make decisions before even having the chance to consulate with me was extremely unprofessional. Then to top it all off the fact he emailed days after while we were on our honeymoon and said our photos looked amazing and when we asked if we could see a couple since they looked so amazing he denied it and said he couldn't do that. However if we left a 5 star rating on his website he would ensure that our photos were rushed so we could receive them in 8-10 weeks instead of the standard 8 months. I have included the exact wording from his email. "Typically it takes about 8 months for everything to be completed, however if you would like we could offer you a rush order for no additional cost. If you would be willing to write our company a 5 star review on the below sites, we would cover the cost of the rush order for the pictures and the video!! It's simple. Just click on the links below, write the 5 star review (it can be something super simple if you wish), and then we get an email that the review was written. Once we get that email we begin facilitating your rush order. Our rush orders are typically 8-10 weeks from the date the reviews are posted. " We were not expecting to be bribed into writing a 5 star review in order for us to receive our photos. That would explain how his company has only 5 star reviews on his website. We did indeed leave a 5 star reviews specifically relating to the actual workers who came to our wedding, we left out all interactions in dealing with the owner. The icing on the cake was our photo album which was agreed upon to replace the included engagement photo session we declined having. The album lay out they sent us was not the album we received and once again when he informed us our album was complete and in we simply had to send him a 125$ check to cover shipping. When we asked if we could go and pick up the album he said no because due to covid no one was in the office, Yet there was no problem in the past when we had gone to the office to drop off checks. This man is nothing short of an unprofessional shyster and I will not recommend him to anyone. I hope this review prevents others from making the mistake we did in hiring this company. I have tried to post this review a few times, and every time I have been threatened with a lawsuit for slander. My last review didn't meet Yelp's criteria for a legitimate review, so I will be more specific and I will only state facts in this review and no opinions. My fiancee and I found Pure Platinum while searching for an event coordinator to handle our wedding, which was going to be in my parents' backyard. The reviews looked good, so we decided to talk to them. We met with James, who gave us pricing for a few different services. We liked what we saw in the packages, but the amounts involved were far beyond what we were intending to spend. With a great deal of reluctance, fear of being unable to afford the final bill, we decided to put down a deposit of $2500..... Money we did not have at the moment. Within a few days we realized we were never going to be able to afford this wedding and contacted James to cancel the contract and request a refund on the deposit. We were met with refusal to return our deposit, being told that due to the short timeframe in which he had to work that he had already put deposits down on his contractors. When I asked James to provide receipts for these deposits, I was ignored. In short, PPP took $2500 from me for a few days worth of time. I have every email between PPP and myself, including the one where they did not get my name correct (NOT something that gave me the warm and fuzzies, but I will refrain from emotion in this review), and will gladly share more specific details of my experience with anyone who would like to know. read more

This company is as bad as it gets. It's bad enough to charge as much as they do for the insignificant services they ultimately offer, but they manage to continue to do so through extortion. When you initially loop up the company you may find good reviews on their website and affiliate "review" site, but me and my husband learned the hard way how they accomplish this. After our wedding we waited MONTHS to receive our photos and video and were told first that we had to pay additional money for "unforeseen production costs" and insisted that without the extra money they would be unable to edit any of the photos or complete the video as we had paid for. After already sinking in as much money as we did we felt stuck and reluctantly paid. Several more months went by and after contacting them to see what the hold up was I was told by Chelsea that the only way we could expect to receive our photos and video within the next 6 months is if we made a positive review on a list of websites they provided. I was absolutely dumbfounded that they would even suggest this and it became immediately obvious how they earned the false reputation they have. This company is dishonest and provides poor services, and after delving into the company more and speaking with past customers and employees, I leaned they not only extort us as clients, but they are doing the same to the DJ's and photographers they hire by threatening to sue them if they even think about using their own work to promote their profession. My Fiance and I received details about Pure Platinum from one of the wedding registry events we went to. They sent us some offers over a couple of months, with a coupon for $1000 off the photographer, so we called and attempted to get pricing over the phone. They refused to give pricing without having us come in and talking to them. So, we scheduled an appointment for one Saturday morning and showed up on time. When we arrived, we waited for about a minute in the foyer, and a gentleman came over to great us saying he would be right with us and that we could take a seat. We took a seat, waited, and listened into the conversation he was having with the appointment before us. The conversation was very interesting, and turned me off form using them at our wedding before I even talked to them. In that conversation, the couple was talking about the offer we came in for. The agent was explaining that they had to sign a contract that day if they wanted to use the offer, because the offer was expiring when they closed. I laughed at this because we have gotten the same offer for several months in a row with it always expiring at the end of the month. I told my fiance that they use high pressure sales tactics, and that I wasn't comfortable with this company before we even got to talk to the guy. Anyone that does this isn't a legitimate business. You should be able to work on word of mouth and your work, not some gimmick. He took us about 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment, which also made me uncomfortable. If someone can't respect your time when they are trying to win your business, how they going to respect it once they have. He sat us down at a conference table and showed us a sample video that lasted about 2 minutes. It wasn't mind blowing, but it was nice. He asked us about our wedding (i.e. dates, time, locations, etc), and then we began talking money. His initial cost was ridiculous. For a Photographer at 6 hours he quoted us at $3000 with the $1000 off, but then explained that since we needed one for 8 hours, it would be another $1000. The videographer was the same price. I nearly laughed out loud. They wanted $500/hour for one photographer and the same for a videographer. I guess wedding photographers and videographers now get more than NYC lawyer hourly rates. Since we are having a weekday wedding, I questioned him if the day of the week mattered. He responded, and I quote: "well, if I asked you to work on a Sunday, would you take less money?" I had to chuckle at his arrogant response, and responded, "Yeah, well, you work in a supply/demand business. You get to charge more on high demand dates. I don't get to charge more if I come in on a Sunday." My fiance and I don't speak idiot very well, so kind of just ended things there. He caught the drift, and had us out the door within 10 minutes of sitting down with us. We asked for a written quote, and were given chicken scratch on a blank piece of paper (no letter head, lines.... nothing but blue ink). It was totally unprofessional. They called me a week later and asked if we could work on the price, and I was blunt saying that we were uncomfortable using them based on the price and the way they were present prices. If you want to charge a premium and cater to the rich, that's fine. Many companies do that and do well. They have the service and professionalism to back up the price point though. read more

We have tried calling and emailing only to receive the generic answer of "we will let you know when it is in". Please message me if you are having or have had a similar experience with this company. I wish I could give them a 0! Very unprofessional from the beginning through the end of our wedding. They did not make us feel good during the most special time of our life. We felt bullied and lied to throughout our experience by the owner James and his assistant Chelsey. Any way to get more money out of us and we were told we were given one of the top photographers. It was like a joke. It seemed the photographer didn't even know how to use the lens properly! Thank goodness so many guests took pictures for us to capture the day correctly. Worst company ever!!!! they start off with a low price just to get you to sign a contract then add 22% gratuity afterwards and continue to try to sell you on other services not mentioned during every visit and every phone call..... And to top it all off the service was poor for the price paid. their photo booth attendant was rude, told my 6yr daughter she couldn't take anymore pictures when it was an unlimited photo service that I paid for. their mark up is rediculess. They tried to charge $225 for the photographer to show up at the hotel that was 5 min away from the venue and when I refused they then brought it down to $75 stating that's how much they getting charged.. Working with Photographer Will was great -. He arrived at the hotel early to start shooting with us - he put us at ease and made those first few photos relaxed and fun. He set up a great atmosphere and really got us comfortable. He was punctual, professional , fun, energetic and he had a great vibe that would put anyone at ease. He took a great mix of formal family photos and candid shots. He also made sure he captured anything specific that we had asked for. We got married on May 28th and could not be happier with the team we had on the wedding day! Chelsey was our coordinator and always answered my emails promptly, even when I bombarded her with tons of them. She always made sure that I stayed on track with organization and wedding planning. Our DJ Rocco was amazing and played songs that the whole crowd enjoyed. Everyone complimented us on how great the music was. There was never a dull moment with him! Tim worked the photo booth that day and was such a sweetheart. He gave us a beautiful book at the end with some of the guest photos in the booth and their well wishes. Bel was our Videographer and he was waiting right outside as my limo pulled up. He was always around, filming and capturing great memorable moments. Andrew was our Photographer and we spent most of our day with him. I could not be happier with him and his work! He was such a pleasure to work with. It was such a hot day and although he was sweating, he made sure to take his time and capture beautiful pictures. It was also awesome that he spoke Polish because my in-laws only speak Polish and Pure Platinum Party took that into consideration.
