Great neighborhood gym. It's clean and has lots of machines to choose from. It can get pretty crowded at times which is expected at prime times. My only cons are they don't have any classes, or a spacious stretching space. And now its open 24 hrs ! read more

Every time I shake my head at something that's either annoying or missing at Blink, I have to remind myself that I'm getting what I pay for. That is, I pay $15 a month for this new but bare-bones location and the experience is worth pretty much exactly that. As a cramped, two-storied-but-only-one-water-fountained gym, Blink can get frustrating quicky. It's always packed unless you go at an hour when you don't want to be there, it has surprisingly limited hours of operation (RIP to actual late-night workouts), and while it's well staffed if you're going purely by the numbers, you get the feeling that folks could be more productive in maintaining and cleaning the facilities. Also there are hardly any benches, or even space at all, by the free weights, so good luck with that. Here's where my complaining stops. I'm less than a ten minute walk to a new gym that costs less per month than a glass of scotch or [insert something that costs more than $15]. They have plenty of wet wipes to use, a locker room that I'll never step inside but looks clean from the outside, a decent amount of free weights, and just enough machines to keep me occupied on a daily basis. If you go in, do what you gotta do, and get out, you won't have any problems with Blink. Don't expect to get a VIP experience, but given its cost, you're still getting good value from joining on here. read more

This is my main gym and for what it's worth it's been good. Is it going to compare to a high-end gym like Equinox? No, and it shouldn't. After all, you get what you pay for. But with that said, this gym and mostly all Blink locations are far from perfect. This specific location has very friendly and helpful staff. The place is overall clean and well maintained and the equipment is usually in great condition. The only caveat I can think of is the facility having only 1 water fountain which is located downstairs, overcrowding but this is usually typical on-peak hours, and perhaps limited equipment to what most gyms usually would have. Other than that, it's pretty good for the very cheap price you would pay for a fitness facility located in New York City. The option of also being to go to any Blink Location in the city is also more than reasonable. read more

Don't know what the big deal is with haters, but if you're paying 15$ (possibly cheapest gym you'll find around), you can't possibly expect stellar service. Don't be such a pickle and talk down bout the gym. For what you pay having a designated cardio downstairs with well-maintained restrooms & decent amount of machines & free-weights makes this quite the perfect gym for its price. Conveniently located near street/metered parking and train/bus stops. It might just be your quick fix of exercise before you head out or in. I came as a guest and do not have a membership, but I came on a friday morning around 10am & the gym was filled with great people whom shared weights/space. I had about a 5 min total wait time on all my sets put together. If you come prime-time to any gym it will be packed, nothing more or less to expect. The male staff downstairs was cool and easy-going helped get the guest (me) setup ready to go in a few minutes. I currently go to NYSC, but am definitely considering changing over to Blink in the long haul! read more

The price is right but the gym is beyond crowded. It felt like I entered a club when I walked upstairs, there was literally no vacant machines to use and you better believe that the single power rack was not going to be given up anytime soon. I wish there was a way to give a company zero stars on Yelp. While the gym is clean and has plenty of equipment, the cancellation policy alone is enough to never sign up for this gym. In the 21st century where nearly everything can be done on a smartphone, Blink requires you to send a letter to their corporate office (which does not provide a phone number). After the letter is received, they say they will cancel your membership after 45 days. For me and many others, they are still attempting to charge me. They are criminals and if you want to avoid getting scammed, do not give them your credit card or sign up for this gym. read more

I decided to check out and join the gym that was only a block away from my house. From the window the place looks amazing. After going there in the middle of the afternoon, I was surprised that I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. I'm used to going to the Planet Fitness out in Astoria. Compared to PF, this place has maybe half the number of machines, only one water fountain (which I couldn't find until I was leaving), and all they had were purelle cleaning wipes. Temperature wise it was super warm, and the air quality wasn't the best. I honestly rather walk 30 mins to the PF in Astoria. But it does have convenience on its side. I just wish the hours were longer. Closing at 10 or 11pm on weekdays and 7pm on weekends. read more

I have been a gym member for some time and I was so happy a new location closer to home was opening. If anyone has been to the other location on Roosevelt it's horrible , bathrooms are dirty and ALLOT of annoying people that frankly don't have proper gym etiquette .... Photo / fashion shoot galore... Blink on woodside is great its a different crowd completely, never too crowded and everyone is their to do one thing .. WORK OUT. I'm extremely happy with this location and it's amazingly friendly staff . This will now be my permanent Blink of choice. read more

Clean gym as always with blink fitness. Staff was attentive and Always present. After 5pm in this gym it gets really packed and this location is pretty tight in size so that can get annoying. The location is convenient right by the 7 train and there are some stores around the gym. If this gym was bigger I would give it a higher rating. read more

I like this Blink a lot. Its a lot nicer and less crowded than the one in Jackson Heights. The one in Jackson Heights is a nightmare. The workers here are very nice. I come here with friends sometimes and they are so shocked by the difference between this one and the one in Jackson Heights. This one is 30 blocks from me but worth the travel. There is parking available around here usually but you can also take the train or bus which stops right in front of it. I really like that it is so clean here and not so crowded. I also feel like the crowd is nicer and mindful unlike the criminals that go to Jackson Heights. read more

I think this gym and location is great. Only $15 a month and a block from my place so I love the convenience. It can get packed during the prime hours but that's also most gyms in NYC. The staff is great. So nice and respectful. The trainers are great especially Mike. I used him and learned a lot. A lil pricey but worth it. Also they do a great job at keeping the place clean and most (not all) members are respectful and wipe down the machines after use with the wipes Blink has out. I'm a happy satisfied member since the 1st day they opened and I love the 24 hours they have now too. read more

Cannot believe Blink charged what amounts to nearly 4 months of dues for me to end my membership. The annual fee was not applied to my account at the time I brought a letter to the Woodside location, so that amount "had to be applied." Considering I have not used the facility since March, all fees should have been waived. read more

Very patient most of the staff is, they make sure there is sanitation wipes and make sure the bathrooms are clean, they do have issues in understanding on how to properly cancel memberships or how to deal with other membership related issues, a young staff they are so they make the place vibrant and welcoming however one thing they all need to work on is making sure everyone is wiping down the equipment after their use of it is done, overall this is a commercial gym but the best location in all of Queens, one thing the managers have to do is listen to it's members and try to repair all the equipment or machines that is wearing out such as the torn leather seats or loose machine screws read more

This is my second year at Blink Fitness Woodside, I had an amazing experience last year. It seems like the management team has changed, but the staff is as friendly as ever and the trainers are willing to help especially (Brandon and Mike) you cannot find any trainer more helpful and motivating as these guys, they are the best I've ever met. Marj, is the best always glad to see her, always has a pleasant smile. Had an opportunity to meet with the Assistant manager Sareena, a very humble and friendly lady, I've seen her couple of times, always smiling and hands on on her task. Employees just hang-out at front desk. when you need assistance, they're lack of experience with customer service and knowledge has resulted to unauthorized charges for services not rendered to my personal checking account. And the Owner's lack cooperation, due to his employees mistake, doesn't say much for his business practices......what happened to customer is always right or let's make the customer happy! Chuck it out in a blink! Blink (Woodside) THREW MY STUFF AWAY, and the staff couldn't care less. So this gym has 2 types of lockers: - 'stash & dash' lockers at the entrance, that clearly state 'day-use only' - bigger lockers in the changing rooms Neither my boyfriend nor I had never seen any sticker stating that these were day-use too, and after observing that people were leaving their things overnight, I decided to do it too. I would never have done that if I had thought that it wasn't allowed. After doing that for 3 weeks or so without a problem, this morning, it turned out that they had emptied all the lockers and chucked away everything. (No warning. No chance to get my brand new sneakers back. Directly to the TRASH. Not even charity.) I am not challenging the policy, as, had I been aware of it, I would have complied. What I am really disappointed and angry about is that: - We were NEVER told about the day-use policy when signed up. - Staff claims they clip all lockers every night. How come then I could use a locker overnight for 3 weeks? How come the staff doesn't warn members? How come they don't send a reminder email to everyone? How come everything is directly thrown away? I chose this Blink because it's close to my job, which makes it easy for me to go right after work. It has two floors, but the space still feels kind of cramped at times. The employees are really nice. They always greet me when I walk in and acknowledge when I leave for the day. The space is well maintained, and the people who frequent this gym show common courtesy for the most part by cleaning machinery when they're finished. I really love the fact that everyone is focused on themselves and their workouts. I know as a woman I don't like to feel like I'm being watched. I definitely don't get that feeling at this Blink. It would help if this location had more water fountains because the second floor has none and hydration is key when working out. I have had to wait for machines a few times, but the wait times are short! read more

Bottom line is... you pay $15/mo for the gym. There are no classes or towels, but the space is usable. If you're lucky enough to go during the day or even Fri-Sun it's not that crazy, but during the week after 5 it gets packed. The $15/mo is great for me, because I don't feel guilty if I'm only able to go a few times a week (or even a few times a month). Also allows me to spend more $$$ on spin classes. My one issue is that people don't respect your space in the stretching area or pick up after themselves, but I guess you just have to speak up and make do. I also find that the personal trainers take up a loooot of space with their clients, but I guess those people are paying extra. This review is not necessarily about the facility but about their accounting practices. I signed up in December for the $15 membership, all was well until this month. To my surprise, I was charged an extra $40. I called the gym and they explained that it was a maintenance fee (an annual one). No one has explained this to me when I signed up. I signed up for this gym for two reasons 1) the cost is very reasonable 2) the location is amazing. There are only two water fountains downstairs and occasionally they run out of wipes for 1-2 days and the machines can get gross if not regularly cleaned. Given the cost of the gym membership, these two complaints are minor and not a deal breaker for me. However, I am unhappy because one employee harasses me regularly. Most of them are nice, but this power-hungry girl really ruins the whole gym experience by making me feel unwelcomed. I had to speak with multiple managers/employees to get her off my back on several separate occasions, but to no effect because she still harassed me today. I want to quit my membership but they trap you with the early cancellation fee. I run 5 miles everyday and use the machines but honestly I would rather sit at home and be a little fatter but a lot happier. Thanks for fcking my mornings. #nomotivation read more

First of all, if you've ever been a member of Equinox or some other fancy gym with spa amenities, this is not the gym for you. I remember sifting through tons of reviews debating whether or not I should join. If you're just looking for a gym to get in, lift some weights and get out--this is the gym for you. For less crowded hours, go before work or after the rush hour crowd. They're good about replacing wipes or putting paper towels and antibacterial spray out during peak hours. If they happen to run out, just ask and someone usually hands you a new roll or will refill the wipes. Locations are great. And the people are what you'd expect at any gym. Half the people are there doing their thing and the other half are on their phones and using 5 barbells-- all at the same time! (If you can believe that! ) For $20 and the ability to bring guests included, can't beat it. read more

Gym opened up 2 days ago; everything is brand new and mostly well kept. I did see sweat stains on benches more than once. I was surprised to see how crowded it was considering they just opened. Like all other Blink Fitness locations, it's not the greatest for actually lifting, since most equipment is cardio & machines, not many free weights. I wish they would add at least one more power cage; they only have 1 now. This is the only other gym in the area other than Big 6, which is older and costs significantly more ($15/month vs ~$60/month). On the other hand, Big 6 is less crowded, has slightly better hours, and much more variety in equipment. I'll stay as a Blink member for now since its dirt cheap and allows me to cancel anytime. read more

Ive been to almost every gum nyc has available..the price is so cheap for this place and its convenient and its nice that you can bring up to 3 guests for free... but its too crowded. I've been with Blink for quite some time and began at the Steinway location. Lo behold, the place became the new planet fitness. Crowded, free weight hoggers, long waits for machines cause folks decide to work there fingers out texting as opposed to doing the actual workout the machine they are on entails. Once i left that place, i went to the roosevelt location. Worse. However, this place is a hidden gem IMO. This location does not get to crowded (it may change considering that it is new) but I'm taking advantage of these moments. If you can tell, i hate crowded gyms. If you are looking for a well rounded gym that does not get overly packed, this may be for you. One big thing for me is that there are no towels or even paper towels to be found at all. They have Blink merch such as towels, shorts, and more for sale that are relatively cheap. In conclusion, Blink is a well rounded gym. Affordable, Good machines, free weights reach up to 100lbs and have never encountered a disgruntled employee. HOWEVER, depending on location, these gyms can get crowded. This woodside location in specific is fairly new and have found it to be fairly empty from 2-4pm. No towels or paper towels, this goes for ANY blink location. I'll continue being a member of Blink and would proudly recommend to anyone. read more

Gym is kind of tight in space and has a funky smell when crowded. Poor ventilation + strong body odors do not go well. The weights area is way smaller than other blinks and is almost always filled with way too many men. read more

I use to go to this blink. But it's over crowded a lot of times that I went I wasn't able to do squats. I go to the one in Chelsea which I love more and it's less crowded and the workers are pleasant. There has to be a limit seriously it's too many people at this location . Big space with very poor display and management of the machines. Too few machines for too many people, the gym is always PACKED! You gotta wait averagely 5~10 minutes in line for using a machine. I'm not talking about the rush hours, I always go there after 9:30pm when there are less people there. Worst gym I have ever tried so far. So I've been going to Blink Fitness for about 2 years now. Overall the chain is a great deal. Not top of the line but not a dump either. Well worth the $15-$25 a month. Can't find a better deal. I have tried the Midtown East location, Grand Central, Roosevelt, and now Woodside. The reason I gave this review 2 stars is because the gym is too small and too crowded with not enough benches. It is the smallest location of all locations I have been too. It's almost always at full capacity. Several times I have to wait just to get a treadmill. And flat bench? Forget about it. Getting the flat bench without having to wait is like winning the lottery. And there are only 2 flat benches! 2! What a joke. And on top of that, people leave waits all over the gym, which are sometimes picked up by staff, but most of the time they are left scattered around like toys in a child's bedroom. The staff is nice and the gym stays clean, which is a plus, but overall be prepared to wait for machines. read more

I joined in early July. I love this gym! I haven't come across any rude, obnoxious folks and all the staff are friendly & helpful . It's a positive place ~ a godsend ! The way i see it, the people who like Blink Woodside are of all levels of fitness, and all different races and ages, but most everyone is humble, cool, easy to get along with and focuses on their own goals.
