The train is also a block away. They offer a nice deal for those starting off, as well as trial classes. The coaches are all super friendly and the community events are fun. I started at Unleashed last April, and it was by far the best decision I've made towards being more consistent at the gym. I've made SO MANY friends who are supportive and motivating, which made working out and being active so much more enjoyable. I don't feel intimidated going to class -- everything is scaleable based on your abilities, but the coaches push you to improve and progress. Unleashed is an incredibly welcoming community, and I am so happy to be part of it. As someone who isn't athletic by any means, I just finished my first fitness competition, Hyrox, last month and I don't think it'd be possible if it wasn't for this gym and the people in it. **Join at your own risk** I left my CrossFit gym of 7 years to join Unleashed in August of 2020. I was welcomed by the community immediately, I felt safe and comfortable, made some new friends, and got some great workouts in. However, as time went by we lost a total of 6 great coaches, classes began to get cancelled out of no where most with no warning or explanation, and the owner started to make it uncomfortable to be there. He sent out several emails involving personal matters, posted in our community Facebook page, sent messages through social media, and was extremely unprofessional. Ultimately my membership was cancelled with out warning - I woke up to an email alerting me to my cancelled membership. While I'd been planning to leave the box in the upcoming months, I was unfortunately "kicked out" due to, I assume, the owners personal issues which began to bleed into the everyday workings of the gym. I all of a sudden was no longer a part of this amazing community of welcoming, encouraging, uplifting members - some of whom I'd been working out with since I joined CrossFit in 2013. So, If you're looking for a community of amazing people, this is it. Anyone who joins would be lucky to workout with such amazing members. This drama club nerd with all the traumatic gym class stories is now a grown woman who loves to lift. Who'd have thought. I've been a member here for over 4 years, so this review is long past due. What an awesome community gym! I've never stuck with any fitness regime for as long as I've stuck with Unleashed's programming. I feel better at 35 than I did at 25! It's always challenging, but great for all levels. All the coaches I've met, Ant, Tony, Tommy, Danny, Jenny, take great care & pride in watching you succeed. As a queer woman, CrossFit gyms - and I mean most gyms - can be a place of bro culture. Mansplaining, equipment hogging, and awkwardness. I tried out three other CrossFit gyms, and by the second class I attended I was SOLD. CrossFit Unleashed offers three FREE trial classes, you would be crazy not taking advantage of that offer. What is also great, they offer a foundations class which is 1:1 with a coach and SUPER helpful... especially if you're brand new to CrossFit. I was and I signed up right now after! I worked with coach Laura and coach Tommy and they really are wonderful coaches and allow you to get comfortable with different movements. Owner and coach Anthony is fantastic, he is always there to help you out, and help you become stronger. The workouts can be a killer but he always makes sure to have fun with the workouts. I remember asking him if I should do the CrossFit Open (I was two months into CrossFit) and he told me to sign up and I can 100% do it. Guess what, two months into CrossFit I completed my first CrossFit Open and it wasn't for Anthony telling me sign up, I don't know if I would have.. also given, I didn't really know anyone. CrossFit Unleashed is equipped with everything you need and can imagine at a gym. It's so spacious, means more room for WOD activities! The community is AMAZING, everyone is super friendly and so welcoming. I went from going three times a week to six or seven a week and to be honest majority of that has to do with the people and coaches. CrossFit unleashed has been by far the most welcoming CrossFit gym I have encountered, not only as an individual but as well for my family. My wife and our kid have all joined and the community has been second to none. I can not stress this enough, one of the best decisions of my life is joining this crossfit gym. I have gained better results the 2 years being part of Crossfit Unleashed vs the 7 years of going to regular gyms. The programming here is great, fun, challenging and if you go consistently, you'll see results fast. The owner is fantastic; he's one of the coaches and takes his job seriously but is also very down to earth, personable, and funny. He has very fair policies and is always trying to improve the box. He reinvests into his facility; maintaining or replacing equipment on a consistent basis. The people are friendly, and I've built many friendships being part of Unleashed. There are many workout events where there's BBQs or general meetups. If I were to redo my crossfit journey, without a doubt, I would start back at this box again. read more

Such a great gym. The community is incredibly welcoming, and even though the workouts are tough, the coaches are great about helping you scale. I came in pretty nervous about the heavy barbell work, and I've been able to build up at a pace that I'm comfortable with without undo pressure to increase the weight faster. Joined Unleashed at the beginning of 2022 and it is the best gym. I've been to multiple CrossFit gyms as a member and for drop-in and have to say this place is special. First off, they have Amazing coaches. Large facility for CrossFit (especially in NYC) and lots of equipment to fit any workout plan. Owner, Anthony (Ant), invests a lot of time and money into improving the space and maintaining it. He also takes the best photos for you to post on social media! Ant has created a great environment based around community. Community events schedule is released in advance to make sure everyone is aware and can plan for events. Mets games, bbq, special themed workouts, fireworks night, tank top Tuesday, and other fun stuff. Majority of the members are friends and are welcoming to new faces. Great programming with lots of scaling options and other specialty classes are available (powerlifting, Olympic lifting, judo etc.). I did a drop in at the box when I was visiting my son with my sister and sister in law. We had the opportunity to come two days for a WOD. We had an amazing experience. Coaching staff was first rate, and we were warmly embraced by the CrossFit Unleashed community. One of the main things I love about this box is the community Anthony Lucic has built. Every time you walk into the gym, you are welcomed and greeted by the coaches and members. Before, during and after workouts, the people are supportive and encouraging. People of all different ability levels are welcomed and the coaches make you feel comfortable. They help you succeed. I started working out with coach Ant at the ripe age of 21, it's been about 8 years and CrossFit is my longest relationship to date. I've been lucky enough to find my home at CrossFit Unleashed. The 20 minute commute is worth the community, programming and great coaching staff. The gym is clean and they have all the equipment one needs. Community: I found an additional social circle to bond with. We're all working hard to try and achieve our fitness goals. For that hour we're all suffering together. We push and encourage one another. Coaching: All coaches are extremely knowledgeable. Each have their own style. They'll get you motivated and build your confidence. If you're doing something wrong they'll have no problem in correcting your form and giving you the individual attention that you need. I love crossfit because of Crossfit Unleashed. It had been years since I worked out regularly before I joined Crossfit Unleashed, so I was nervous to get started. Just moved to Astoria in January. I have dropped in countless boxes and globing gyms in the area. And as some one who enjoys working out and needs to blow off steam and enjoys wod'ing. I need a box that offers me weight training and conditioning and a place to make me feel at home. I've also traveled enough to know what makes a box and community. And have been part of cf boxes in the city and Brooklyn which I still hold to high regards. So my requirements and standards are high. And out of all boxes. I dropped in once here at CF UNLEASHED. And left with maybe it was a fluke feeling. Then I saw their programming where they offer CF and a strong man style in the afternoon. And decided to partake in this class and was surprised at how the coaches are attentive to detail. And 2 free classes became a 3rd and became a full time member. That's just programming, don't get me started with the coaches and the community. It's a great group and on your worse day they make you feel like you're at home.
