First time coming to this salon and will probably be the last (unless they actually want to talk to me about the shit service I received). Came in and asked for the deluxe pedicure with gel polish. Gel polish looks fine. Whatever. The pedicure itself was not worth the nearly $70 (not including the tip!) I was charged. She scrubbed the fuck out of my one leg and hardly scrubbed the other. All she did was slather my legs in a thick layer of lotion and barely rubbed it in. Then she asked if I wanted my toenails clipped. Duh? Of course I want them cut; they were long! I tell her yes. She clarifies. "Do you want me to cut them all the way down?" Yes. Please. I get home and feel pain in my toes. I look. She barely cut any of my nails off, and most she left most of my toes with sharp edges that were digging into my skin! I'm diabetic. I physically cannot afford to get foot injuries. So i had to cut my nails myself. Now everything looks like shit but at least I'm not in the running for multiple ingrown toes or in pain. These nail places rarely ever take accountability for their shortcomings and mistakes. Fuck this place. read more

I made an appointment for a pedicure and decided to splurge on the Milk & Honey pedicure. The pedicure was extremely rushed, she had the polish on before I even got a moment to relax, the tech didn't even file my toenails at all leaving sharp edges after she clipped them. I'm enjoying this little getaway more and more with each visit! And once you come inside, you'll realize it's bigger than you think! I like the check-in process of signing in via the tablet with your phone number. From there you can choose your services. On this visit I got a mani & pedi. After signing in I waited less than 10 minutes before being met by Annabel at her manicure station. It's rare that I treat myself to a manicure. It's like I never have time. I know, I know, we make time for the things we enjoy. So that's what I did. Anyway, it was a treat. In the end, my nails were smooth and my hands were soft. Then I was ushered to the pedicure station in the back to massage my back while my feet were pampered. They have several types of pedicures to chose from. I got the classic pedicure. Even that one makes you feel a bit indulgent. I always enjoy playing with the massage chair. I feel that's the best part. I actually got color this time. One of my nails was damaged during my Mt Kilimanjaro climb and has never returned to its old self. Enter sad face here. So, I covered it with Black Onyx. I like...... The place looks very clean. Even the bathroom was neat and clean. Oh, and I like the drink offer while you're getting your pedicure. I should come more often! I think I will. read more

Got a gel manicure and pedicure on 1/13 and by 1/14 one of my nails on my hand has chipped. I went in that day and they scheduled me to fix it on 1/15. I went in they got it fixed quick and I was happy with that. But by the end of that day another nail had already chipped. Over the next couple days (less than their 7 day guarantee) I had 3 nails chipped and peeling off already. It's now less than 2 weeks out and every nail is chipped with 5 out of 10 halfway peeled off. My pedicure has lasted well with only one nail halfway peeled. Otherwise really disappointed with the manicure. I feel for the price I should be able to have a nice manicure for more than one day. I was also on vacation so I wasn't doing anything with my hands at all that would cause this. Will probably not be going back if I want another manicure. Owner saying "we would obv redo" is very condescending. It's not an obvious thing. What is obvious is that a gel manicure should last more than a couple days. My first time at PureLux was truly deluxe :). I booked a stone pedicure, eyebrow wax & tint, and dip w/ tip cat eye designed almond nails. I had Tiffany for the whole booking and she was delight. I've included the design picture of what I wanted vs my nails below. There were no issues when it came down to the design and how I wanted it. This was one of the main reasons I chose this location because previous spots I have been to arent fully updated to trendy designs that are seen in social media today. Pros: -I was greeted as I walked in and already knew to log into the tablet like other locations I have been to for an easy check in process. -the location is definitely up-to-date in terms of style and equipment. -they accept Venmo for tips or you could use the ATM provided. -if you pay all in cash you get a % off. Cons: - I wish there was a better waiting/sitting area so one didn't feel cramped. The are is taken up quite a lot due to the drying area. Would totes again :) read more

I tried to give this places a shot. My first set was $80 for new set acrylic + French. And when I came back for a FILLING they charged me $75 for filling + French? One of my nails broke (her own work) and they claimed they charge me for "repairing" when the repair was their own acrylic coming off. Replying to the comment: Prices were never given to me before the service. Just like she went ahead and trimmed my nails without me asking, but I was charged for that? My last nail tech never charge me for "fixing" one nail. Matter fact, they never even came off with her. And not, I did not break it by hitting a door. We didn't have an appointment and it was about a 20minute wait until we were seated in the pedicure chairs and then another 30-40min wait till a tech was able to come. Their technique and products are quality however it has a very inpersonal experience and they are not customer centric. The wine is bad, don't drink it. I've been 3 times, and each time I have mixed feelings on how I'm being treated. It doesn't feel relaxing, it's almost like a get in and get out type of vibe, which could suit some people. Last time, I had an appointment at 5 and was not seen until 20 minutes after, even though I was on time. I understand delays, and luckily i was not in a rush, my issue was the communication around it. There was no acknowledgment of the delay and they treat you like they don't care. The nail techs never introduce themselves and i just sat waiting as other people were seen. The smells are also quite pungent don't go in without a mask. I was pleased with what they did with my nails but the lack of customer service made me not want to return again. I made an appointment at 11 and my feet were still soaking in the water 30 minutes later with no one coming over to start. I had limited time since I had a babysitter just to come get a pedicure, which is why I made sure to make an appointment. I normally get gel, and tip $15/$20 a pedicure and did not feel it was worth waiting around and spending $75 plus at this salon. Oh. My. Goodness. I have been WAITING for a nail salon to become a regular at in Canton for SO LONG. So I am so happy PureLux has opened because it has everything I've been looking for. Not only does it have ample free parking right outside, but the salon is sparkling clean, the service is friendly and detail-oriented, it is easy to book an appointment online, they have so many colors to choose from AND everything is so organized. I have been so pleased with my mani-pedi both times I've gone--last time Bella did an amazing job shaping my nails (they are literally the most perfect shape I've ever had someone do in the Bmore area. Usually at least one nail is a little off, but not with Bella!!) She was so detail oriented and devoted to getting my nails exactly right. Plus, you just know when your nail tech has a bomb manicure herself that she knows what she's doing!!! I 100% recommend trying out PureLux (even though I kind of want to keep it my little secret!! I got so tired of waiting at places nearby like Polished and Babylon who take appointments but you still have to wait 20+ minutes!) *Pro tip: when making appointments online, try to make them at least 24 hours in advance. I'm writing this to encourage management to improve the hygienic conditions and customer service at the salon. I had a very negative experience, and do not plan on returning for two main reasons: 1. I had an appointment for a pedicure. I waited 45 minutes before I was seen by a technician. There was no communication to explain the reason for the delay, or indicate when I would be seen. Unclear why they have an appointment system if it's not actually being used. 2. I have an infection in one of my toes because of the pedicure. This happens when a salon does not correctly sterilize tools and equipment, which is extremely concerning. I will not return to a place where proper care for a customer's health is not a priority. read more

Pretty nice option for nails in the area. My usual nail salon was closed for the day, and another I like was fully booked. PureLux was able to take me as a walk-in at lunch, which was convenient. 1-hr parking in front of the building. The place is a lot bigger than it appears from the street -- plenty of space and chairs. (Apparently they offer a beverage while you wait, but I wasn't offered anything). They had 3 other clients in the salon, but also had a couple of techs free and hanging out. Seems to get busier later in the day. Basic manicure is $25 ($24 with cash). Gel manicure is $40 with a 7-day guarantee, according to their pamphlet. Basic pedicure is $35. Gel pedicure is $55. The manicures were quick and efficient, but not sloppy. They took the metal tools out of a sanitized pack. Unfortunately, they do reuse the files and buffers - ideally would have sanitized ones, or use new ones, or keep sets for clients. Massage / treatments were minimal but fine. Overall pretty good polish job - I would have liked it a little closer to the cuticle and maybe could have cleaned the nail surface better after lotion to make sure it adheres. Overall I would recommend it for a basic mani. I did come here once before, but they were busier and didn't seem interested in helping. Scheduling ahead or coming at lighter times seems like the way to go here. May not be the warmest or most consistent welcome, but a good option with easy parking in Canton. read more

Do not go here. Waste of your time and money, and they treat certain people like trash. I went here a few weeks ago and it was the best mani pedi I've ever had! Couldn't wait to come back, so I made an appointment for a mani pedi today. Arrived and was told to wait... the place is empty. As I am waiting, and waiting, another person comes in without an appointment (I heard her say "I do not have an appointment") and gets taken back first. So I had to wait a lot longer even after I said something, the girl in the chair next to me noticed and offered to let me go first but the employees said no. There was no explanation and after that they basically gave me the worst pedicure ever- making it hurt and not relaxing at all. In the end I didn't have time to stay for the mani and had to chip my peeling nails off myself since they left the foil and gloves on. My hands were burning and bloody being left in the acetone for over an hour. So glad I didn't stay for a mani!!! They made me pay and when I called back to complain the guy on the phone was a jerk. PureLux has finally opened in the Broom Factory, and I can't say enough about it, starting with the fact that there is off street parking. They seem to take all major forms of payment. I easily booked an appointment on the phone to make sure my daughter and I could be near each other (we could), but I could have booked online too, which is a huge plus for introverts like me. The space is huge, and is set up with plastic dividers between all the stations, and between you and the nail tech. Everyone is double masked. They take your temperature at the door and have you wash your hands before taking you to your station. They have an incredible selection of colors, in traditional, gel and dip powders. Everything was super clean. I was really happy with Bryan's patience, and care he took to make sure my daughters first real mani/pedi was comfortable, and even helped her pick out a "galaxy" color. Although their pedicure selection was massive, we opted for the basic pedicure to start out with. Bella did an amazing job, and made my monster feet look normal again! She was impressively fast with my gel manicure. I almost don't want to leave this review because it won't be long before this place is jam packed. This was a very rushed experience. We made an appointment for the evening and the manicurist kept watching the clock while she worked--even though it was two hours before closing. It was so rushed that while we were sitting in the pedicure chair, someone else came and started doing a manicure while we were getting a pedicure! They tried to sell it as "look at you getting two people working on you at once, so lucky!" But it was terrible, for two people working at once the quality was not good. My hands were up in the air for a manicures while I was getting a pedicure! Who has ever heard of such a thing? Cuticles not pushed back, or trimmed. And since it was a mid-air gel manicure, they rested the nail dryer on the armrest and tried to balance it while my nails dried! Talk about rushing! It was very uncomfortable. The price is NOT worth what you get because the polish doesn't completely cover my toes! It was obvious the pedicurist was in a rush because she left as soon as we were finished and we had to ask someone else to do our eyebrows. It was completely disorganized and not relaxing at all. Since we made an appointment, we thought we would get good service but that is not true. If I could sum it up in one word: fiasco. They did offer us water though.
