Was visiting my sister and we spontaneously decided to get pedicures. It was day after thanksgiving so we just walked in and were seen right away. It is a really spacious and large store. We did the spa pedicures which was $65. I did the jasmine and my sister did the milk and honey and we loved it. Feet feel super smooth and moisturized. Aurea was my nail tech and she took her time making sure my little toesies were perfect. They have massage chairs for pedicures so I was enjoying that as well. Aurea also offered us water or soda and made us very comfortable. Had a great experience. My feet really needed the care after many weeks of neglect. read more

I've walked by Inspire many times but finally came here to get a much needed mani and pedi. The inside is spacious and set up really nicely. My nail tech didn't speak much English and just indicated certain things with a head nod or a hand gesture which was fine with me and I understood what to do. I didn't get anything fancy but just a basic manicure and pedicure. I did get a nice scrub added to my pedicure because of some calluses which felt good. My nails were trimmed a bit but weren't all evened out so they weren't the same length to me. Some of my nails also could have used a 3rd coating since I had chosen a sparkly polish that wasn't fully even on all of them. Overall, a really decent place to get my nails done when I feel like indulging myself to this type of perk. I would love to love this place since it is in such a convenient location for me. I have gotten my nails done here twice - once before my wedding and once before a trip - the regular polish holds up just as well as a typical salon, but I have had issues with the gel polish both times. Before my wedding, the gel nail polish on my toe chipped on the third day after getting my nails done (the finger nails were fine). However, the second issue was much worse. The gel nail polish on my finger nails completely discolored within a few days of getting them done (see pictures - it progressively got worse throughout the trip). I was really disappointed to see this, especially since I paid ~$100 for gel finger nails and regular toe nails. Everyone is reasonably friendly here, but proceed with caution if you are getting your nails done for a special occasion. read more

I recently moved to the Woodmore area and thought I'd get the same fantastic experience I received regularly from the DC/Rhode Island Ave. location. I've been to this one 3 times now and it's been meh each time. I get very simple services, the basic pedicure and a French manicure. My technician today, Peter, started out extremely friendly but seemed to change once I didn't choose the higher cost pedicure he suggested. Not as friendly anymore and a bit annoyed when I double checked that the base for my manicure was the color I requested (I've had different colors used before that I didn't ask for). I eventually felt the need to ask him was everything alright and did I do something wrong! After that exchange he seemed to be okay but I definitely don't imagine I will want a service from him again. As far as my nails he actually did a great job, better than the other times I've been. As an overall improvement though, customers should feel at ease with picking any service they want, regardless of what it costs. My friend and I called to check if they had availability for 2 manipedi. They took us in immediately. I loved the menu for the different pedis. It's based on different cocktails, they have many options! I went for the Pina Colada one and it was awesome. Got a manicure with very sparkly nail polish, I loved it!! The woman that did my nails was super careful and made sure they were perfectly dry before I left. She did two base coats, the sparkles, a top coat, and a dry spray. I absolutely love Inspire. The staff is always super friendly, and every nail tech I've had has done a great job, specifically Jade! I've never had to wait more than ten or fifteen minutes past my appointment times, and I consider that fast for a busy nail salon. If you absolutely hate waiting, the best time to come is during the day, but I come after work often and it's no issue. Welp! I guess this is my first ever 3-star review. I called a few days ahead to make an appointment for myself and my friend. Two manicures - one gel and one regular polish. We arrived at about 5:25pm for a 5:30pm appointment. Inside the waiting area was VERY crowded - not totally unexpected for a Friday evening. There was no one working the front desk and it was pretty unclear what the check in process was since we had never been here before. After standing around for about 5 minutes, we realized there was a tablet at the front desk. I entered the information as prompted and we began to wait. About 20 minutes goes by until we are finally addressed by a staff member. I tell him we have an appointment for 5:30pm and give him my name. He asks again what services we're getting done so I remind him. He says he's waiting for two chairs to open up next to each other before he seats us. I appreciate him not wanting to split us up since my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do but I was very confused about what the point of making an appointment was if the chairs were not going to be set aside for us in advance. We ended up being seated at 6:05pm. Over the course of this wait, my friend was asked maybe 5 or 6 times what service she was getting done and each time being asked if she wanted gel - which she is not a fan of. She was asked this so many times that at one point we just looked at each other and started laughing - it was actually pretty comical! The manicures ended up taking less time than the actual wait - about 20 minutes for the both of us. My friend was not happy with her manicure and I could see why - the polish job was pretty sloppy and several parts of her cuticle still had polish on it. The nail tech obliged to a quick touch up per my friend's request. I was fairly happy with my manicure and liked the color but I knew I wanted to wait to write this review to see how well it would hold up. I got the manicure on July 30th and am writing this review on August 13th - exactly two weeks later. All of the gel polish has peeled off. It would be one thing if it chipped - I am fairly hard on my nails - but it's clear to me that either the polish or the dryer used was not good quality. It's very hard to find a solid nail salon in Baltimore that uses quality materials and has a staff that respects your time. It looks like Inspire Nails is no different, unfortunately. read more

I came in as a walk in on a Friday afternoon. Mina was my nail tech and she did a lovely job. I requested she reshape my nails to almond which previously were slightly more shaped stiletto. I kept it simple and did not request a design but she filled my nails well and colored them perfectly. My nails overall feel more sturdy and the shape is exactly what I hoped for. I paid $55 for a fill with gel polish and reshape. It is is higher than what I pay for at home but the quality and good service were provided. read more

My nails feel stronger than ever and I can finally flaunt some length without worrying as much about breakage. Let me start with saying that I was referred here by a friend who really likes this salon and usually gets dip manicures. I get gel manicures, so maybe that's why my experience was much different. The only reason I still gave 2 stars is because I like the color of the polish and overall it turned out okay. It's also upsetting because I wanted my nails to be perfect for my engagement party in a few days and I told them about this. First I called to ask if they are still having the Happy Hour as advertised on their website (which was $65 for gel mani and regular pedi from Monday to Wednesday 9:30am-2:30pm). The lady on the phone said they are not honoring that anymore, which was weird because they should really update their website. I got there and showed them the design I wanted on my fingernails and said I would like gel. The lady said my nails weren't long enough for the design, which was really frustrating because I've had nail designs done even with shorter nails and these were the longest I've had them in a while. I would have even appreciated if she said she could do a better job in dip. I said I would try to find another design that I wanted and Louis rushed me to the pedicure station before I even finalized a color for my toes. I felt like he just assumed the color I had in my hand was the one I wanted, but luckily it kind of worked out. He was very rough with my feet during the pedicure. I am missing a toe nail on my right foot and the skin is sensitive there. I told him about it but he kept bumping it on the side of the tub. The "pedicure" was also done in only about 15 min and I thought, wait I didn't even pick a design or gel color and I don't remember any scrubbing. I didn't get a chance to use the massager in that short about of time. I was the only customer there as well, so I don't understand why he was rushing (not that a busy salon would make that okay). I've had basic pedicures that lasted at least 30-45min, and I felt like I could have done a better job at home. I asked if he scrubbed and removed the dead skin, and he's like oh I guess I can scrub more. There is still dead dry skin all over my feet, especially on the heels. I also don't like when salons use the handpiece to remove the cuticles. When I asked if that was routine for a basic pedicure, he said yes. He didn't put any cuticle softener/remover (on my hands or feet), so my cuticles were dry and sensitive afterwards. He messed up one of my toenail polish when putting my sandals on and didn't notice until I told him. He fixed it after I asked him to. Later I realized there was nail polish on my sandals as well. The manicure went similarly. My hands and cuticles were also dry at the end. He did a good job with filing/shaping my nails. The painting was very uneven so I asked him to fix it before applying the top coat. He kept adding more layers and now it looks bulky in some areas. There's also a small hair/fuzzy caught under the cured gel which I didn't notice until I got home (see photo). I was also surprised they didn't have me wash my hands before applying the gel. I asked if they LED or UV lights for gel polish, but he wasn't sure. Hopefully, it was LED, as they didn't apply any sunscreen or protective sleeve. I also couldn't tell if they autoclave their instruments or not, but they did have plastic liners for the pedicure. Overall, I will not be returning here and nor would I recommend this salon to anyone else. It wasn't a relaxing and enjoyable experience. read more

I've been very torn about writing this review. I've been going to Inspire for quite a while now and have generally always had a good experience. The last couple of times though have not been the best experiences. Last week I decided I wanted to get my nails done after giving my nails a break for a few weeks. I called Friday to see if they had availability Saturday morning. I realize I could have picked a better time, that it was a busy holiday weekend, but I had a pretty heavy work schedule last week. And I assumed that if there wasn't any availability that they would tell me they couldn't fit me in. They made an appointment for me Saturday morning at 9:30 am, extensions and dip powder. I arrived early on Saturday morning and was greeted as soon as I walked in. There was one particular OPI color I had in mind. I knew it was available in regular and dip powder but I didn't know the dip powder number. I'm not very good about choosing colors without comparing so I was looking for the bottle of regular polish to hold up to the dip nail samples to make my selection. The technician argued with me for 5 minutes while I was trying to find this color, telling me not to look at the regular polish and got inpatient with me when I tried to explain what I was attempting to do. I've been getting dip powder for a long time and understand that not all colors are available in dip. But I knew a dip powder was made for this color as I had looked it up before hand and, if they didn't have it available, I was trying to find a similar color. The frustrating thing is the name of OPI colors are on the bottom of the dip containers. Instead of arguing with me, the tech could have helped me by looking in the general color hue for the name (as they have done this for me before) but instead sat impatiently while I was trying to pick my color. I ended up going with one of my standard go to colors as I was feeling rushed and uncomfortable. The tech started working in my nails without asking any questions about what I wanted. Eventually they asked if I wanted my nails longer or no tip. I responded "Not super long, but I definitely want tips." My nails were incredibly short as I had cut them down earlier in the week. The tech proceeded to prepare my nail for dip powder and the tech in the next chair looked over and said "no, she wants tips." The tech then had to file my nails down again as they had already started with the dip. Once the tips were on, the technicians started cutting without asking me about length or shape. The result was nails shorter than what I would have done. I didn't haven't a lot of time as I was supposed to drive out of town after this appointment so I decided to accept the service as is. Typically dip nails with extensions has taken an hour when I've gone to Inspire. My service was done in under 45 minutes. It felt very rushed. During this period, a few other clients had walked in and were never greeted at the door. Myself and another customer both said something about people waiting and both our technicians looked up and then went right back to their work without saying anything. Additionally the phone was ringing off the hook without anyone making attempts to answer. I felt like they really didn't have the availability to take me and that they had decided to just squeeze me in. I would rather them have told me it was going to be difficult to get this service done on that day. I try to keep my nails for 3-4 weeks and I don't think I'm going to be able to stand this set for more than two weeks. The set is still very good and cleanly done, it's just not what I had planned on. The past couple of times I've made appointments I feel like if you don't already know your exact specifics (color, length, shape) when you walk in the door there will be impatience and haste. read more

Re: a racially-motivated incident: After arriving for my appointment on August 3rd, I was assigned to the nail technician, Jade. Unfortunately, the service was beyond underwhelming and was not only unsatisfactory, but disrespectful as well. From the moment I walked in, I was not greeted upon entry, instead met with "you have an appointment...wash your hands...don't touch anything." At least twice before my nail services were completed, I highlighted concerns about the quality of my nails (scratched in appearance/dry/uneven) and requested to at the very least wash my hands to clear residual skin, nail buffings, etc.; it felt uncomfortable. I was told to "relax", "don't worry", and that they are professionals who "know what they're doing". Embarrassed at the tone taken with me the first time, I kept quiet. The second concern I raised then included a manager who confirmed the concerns were indeed visible as he pointed at a couple of my nails. Rather than repainting, as requested, they talked down to me in a patronizing tone and told me to "be patient" and let Jade apply a top coat. The manager then continued to raise his voice at me in a condescending tone. To be clear, the manager (who refused to give their name) took an immediate tone with me even after realizing, seeing, and pointing to at least 3 fingers he noticed were indeed uneven in texture; yet insisted to "let her do her job" after asking rudely, "what do you want?". To be clear, before the polish went on I wanted to wash my hands (during the manicure service my hands weren't washed at all --only soaked and wiped with alcohol). The gel manicure service was brief and not of the quality I generally receive at this location as was my pedicure. I initially thought the nail technician was having a day and remained composed while she incorrectly cut parts of my nails, roughly handled me during service, and the general lack of care I experienced throughout the appointment. In short, they belittled me, Jade materialized a lie in the moment to say that I have been to the salon before causing problems. "Someone who looks like you!" to be exact, and how several times in the past, I have, according to them, been an issue by being "demanding & complaining...all the time." This is straight up slander -- especially considering the lie and the racially-motivated statement that followed. The ultimate tipping point came when the police were called to mediate. Before this, Jade photographed and recorded me without consent. They refused to provide me with the name of the owner and contact information for another manager or the owner(s) so I may file a complaint about the treatment I received. I was held in the salon for 4 hours in total. The first set of police expressed and were witness to their behavior, the claims they made, and mediated to have them remove the polish so I may leave after I expressed I felt uncomfortable sitting through another service. Lastly, I was most offended at the fact they repeatedly told me "time is money", "we're not giving you a discount", "nothing is free" when I never asked for either a discount or free service. It was humiliating and offensive, no matter what I said to the contrary. Once they removed the polish, I was then escorted to the front to PAY for the services. After again asking (and being refuted) the contact information for whomever I should file a complaint - the manager raised his voice at me and literally called the police then pointed to a corner and told me, "go sit over there I have other customers." To add, my nails chipped after 2-days. I'm writing all of this because it should be well documented. Considering I used to pay closer to $100 per service with tip, the treatment I received coupled with the terrible pedicure and manicure, motivated me to writing this lengthy warning. read more

I hadn't seen my friend in a long time and we finally met up over manicures! My friend is a long-time customer of Inspire Nail Bar and scheduled an appointment for us. There's a lot of parking on Dock St and the surrounding streets! I parked on the other side of Inspire and was able to get 2 free hours. I arrived before my friend. I walked in and was able to check in using their iPad. I was matched with a nail tech instantly and they assured that I'd be seated with my friend (so nice of them!). I spent some time sifting through nail colors, and it seemed like my nail tech was really impatient and wanted me to choose one quickly. She also tried to push the other services that Inspire offered, but I was only there for a manicure. As someone who is unbelievably excited for Fall, I opted for chestnut brown; on the other hand (hehe, get it?), my friend was clinging to every last bit of Summer and opted for a sunshine yellow. We both got gel manicures and the service was quick, efficient, and clean! My nail tech warmed up throughout the appointment and made conversation. When I moved to Baltimore City I had to find a new nail salon, driving 40min to my old spot was just out of the question. I tried out so many salons throughout the city until I landed on this gem. And now I have been coming here for over two years! Tiffany does my nails here and I highly recommend her! She's amazing! But if she's not available I've heard great things about the other nail technicians as well. This salon has so many dipping powder options AND they use the dip topcoat!!!! Not a lot of salons in Baltimore city do this! And some that do actually charge more, which is so crazy! They also have their OPI dips matched with their OPI polish for an easily matched mani/pedi. All their pedicures are named after cocktails too, which is so fun! Piña Colada, Sea Breeze, Strawberry Margarita, etc. They all smell amazing! Environment: Inspire is so clean, bright and fresh looking, they don't rush you, and they have live plants all around the salon. All of which really make the overall experience so much better and more relaxing! They also get all their tools from sterilized, sealed bags so I know I'm not at risk for any bacteria or infections. They also have wine and mimosas so this is the perfect place to come for a girls day! COVID Precautions: They check your temperature when you enter and you have to wash our hands as well. They have installed clear barriers between you and the tech and they don't sit customers next to each other, unless you request to be next to your friend. They wipe down between customers and have hand sanitizer available as well. Also all the technicians wear their masks and also enforce mask wearing at all times. I had the worst pedicure of my life here today. The gentleman cut my nails very very short, then continued to file such that both of my big toes bled. When I said I was in pain he laughed and kept going. The nail on my left toe is so short and the skin is so raw it is now painful to put on socks and shoes. Separately, he applied about 6 layers of polish which was so thick that it never fully dried and had to be removed when I got home. Horrible experience, stay away! read more

I don't usually do reviews, but I felt this place needed one. First, the establishment is very neat. You're greeted when you walk through the door and handled very quickly. Second, I hadn't made an appointment but I made sure to call to make sure they had time to fix me up with a pedicure and to which they did. They were also able to give me a full set gel manicure and I'm very proud with the outcome of both services.
