It was just ok. They don't speak English at all. At the end they asked my partner and I what we wanted to tip for a 30minute foot massage and I said $10. They added $10 for each and when I tried to dispute it they wouldn't budge. I normally wouldn't comment on a small business but the way they handled payment was sketchy. I clearly said $10 total because I know the lady who worked on my fiance did an ok job where as mine was really bad. Also as two people who professionally do massage and soft tissue work I can't help but feel like we were ripped off. And for background we are on vacation but regularly get worked on by each other and other licensed therapists in the industry. We've been coming here for years and it's only now I'm reviewing it although all our visits are great. We always get an appointment. We came in today and did a couples combo massage. I personally requested for Anni and my husband had a guy for his massage. Anni is the best! She hits all the aches on my body lol. She's not rushing anything at all and gives time to every point. Getting an appointment is easy breezy, the establishment is always clean as well as the bathroom. My wife and I recently came in for a couples massage. We made an appointment a few days in advance and they were able to easily accommodate us. When we arrived, the person at the front desk was on the phone with a customer but greeted us immediately when the call was over. He deduced right away that we were his appointment and promptly escorted us to our room. The shop is very clean and inviting on the inside, whereas the outside looks like nothing special. The location is inside of a "strip mall" so parking is not an issue. I was asked during my massage if I wanted medium or hard and not knowing what that meant, I decided to say hard lol. When they say hard, they mean hard. All of my tension and knots were worked out. My hubby and I went for a couples massage about 1 month ago and the service was terrible, both from the noisey massage ladies (We asked for Annie as the reviews spoke so highly of her- she was massively terrible ans I didn't get the name of the other lady) and from the owners. Both therapist spoke and giggled the whole hour they were massaging us, they were exceptionally rude by just barging into the room, dropping covers on us, pulling socks off our feet (it was very clean and white and we had it on because it was cold) pulling the sheet right over over heads and turning us into poses or directions without a word, like they were very angry to be serving us. We endured because I was massively determined not to be offended by anyone for any reason and my body truly felt better. At check out, we gave a $20 tip EVEN though they DIDN'T deserve it, yet the owner was angry saying "$20 for 2" and basically asking us to tip an extra $20 for a total of $40 after paying about a $130 for a horrific seevice (including credit card fee), when I said yes, she angrily told us to leave through the door with her husband behind her glaring very angrily at us! Please DONT GO HERE, go elsewhere, I know they are the closest in Marina, but they don't worth it at all. Maybe because we aren't from the same ethnic background? Purity Foot and Body Spa in Marina is a great place to pamper yourself. Anny/Annie is amazing. Her hands are so intuitive. I go to see her in pain and leave with my ailments fixed. She's adept with her hands, elbows AND knees! Her deep tissue work is exceptional, but she's very good about checking in to make sure the pressure isn't too hard. Her technique also incorporates a lot of stretching- I leave there feeling younger and completely relaxed. I highly recommend you try the 90 minute full body massage with her. She really has an amazing touch and always finds my sore spots/makes them better. Seriously, pick up the phone and book an appointment with her now. You'll be glad you did. Oh, and note to the cheapskates- great service deserves great tips. These workers don't make much money- they survive on the tips. So don't go in there with $100 for a $90 massage. You're getting a great deal on the massage - share the love with the person actually giving the massage. All these reviews complaining about tipping are cringeworthy. If you can't afford to treat the therapist with a generous tip, you shouldn't be getting massages. Okay people if you are looking for a place that will leave you remembering your massage this is it! It is not fancy and I have been to many fancy. Spas before and spent three times what it costs here but it's truly a great place to get your muscles worked out and body truly massaged. I personally got a 60 minute massage and they told me I was so tense I should stay for the next 30 lol so grab the 90 minute session if you can ($90 current). I could hear people talking as it's just a curtain separating you and the walkway so go there knowing that. The man named Mac was very good and asked if he noticed my making facial expressions if it was still ok. They used hot stones and towels and just really worked don't my entire body . I call this spot the as* kicker to my friends and you probably will too. I just love that they work the pressure points and end with your feet . I always feel sore the next day but know they really brought my body back after it being a mess. I was never left wondering what is going to happen. If you like feet soaked in warm water, then go for the foot massage. It does include a bit of face, head, neck, back and arms but the emphasis is the feet massage. Very detailed. This is good for someone who is on their feet alot, commuting, standing or just want to test the waters to see if this place is for them. The combo massages are always done in the rooms where they start from 60 minute options and up. They all include free hot stone massages in them. Both include facial, back, arm, legs and feet. They are all good, detailed and will get you feeling relaxed. The stones are hot, but the masseuse places them on the sheets first then applies it to your skin. I suggest you go for the 90 minute one because it has more emphasis on the back and feet massage. So far this place has both skills, value and professionalism. It starts with your feet soaking in hot water while you lay on your back. They start with shoulder work, just enough to relax. Then down to the feet. The nice lady spent so much time on my feet! It was an hour foot massage, but holy cow, she took the time massage each toe, and to the arch, also the shins and calf's. The end is spent on my stomach while she pressed up and down my spine. This made me uncomfortable but I left without thinking too much into it. I decided to go back and get a massage with my husband yesterday. I called in advance to book an appointment and the lady who answered communicated in English just fine. She told me that a combo massage costed $60 and suggested tip was around $15-20. We showed up 5 min early and they took us in shortly after. The place was clean. When my masseuse walked in, she did not greet me or check in with pressure or see how I was doing. There were small moments when she had okay pressure but overall, it was like a tease. I mainly felt like I was being rubbed with oil the whole time. The massage felt lazy and she cut my massage about 5 minutes early. My husband was still being massaged at this point and I laid in the bed very unsatisfied. She also left the curtain open so I couldn't even dress up without people walking by seeing me naked. When we paid, I was given a notepad to write down the amount we wanted to tip. I wrote down $20 for my husband's masseuse and $8 for my masseuse. She stared at me blankly and they looked at each other like they couldn't believe it. I pointed at my husbands masseuse and told her the $20 was for her and the $8 was for my person. They stood there pretending to calculate the math and bickering at one another which made me impatient so I went to the car to wait for my husband. When he walked out of the store, he said she charged him $42 for tip! He tried to explain to them but they were "pretending they didn't understand." I was livid so I went back to fix the mistake. They were acting like they didn't understand and kept telling me that $20 is for each of them. I pointed at the note again and said "$20 for you and $8 for you, I'm not happy!" I asked to speak to the owner or manager and all of a sudden, they understood and gave back the $12 and told me their English is "no good." Ma'am, numbers are universal. It's not English, it's MATH. I wonder how many other people they've tried this with. Anyway, as far as the massages go, it's a hit or miss. Seems like I'm not the only one who has had issues with tipping here.
