Jamie has been our cat sitter for over a year now and I don't want to even imagine what it would be like to not have her care for our kitties when we travel. I knew she was the perfect sitter when she came by for the initial meet and greet and she already remembered their names and their personalities, likes/dislikes, and special needs, based on the write-up I provided. The kitties gave their immediate approval when they came out from hiding and actually greeted her with head bumps and asked for more petting. For cat owners, you know that's the best you can get. I just can't say enough about how AMAZING Samantha is in taking care of our little Toonces. We went away for a long 4 day weekend, and he was so cozy and comfortable with her at Camp Purrific. We will always have Sam and her Dad watch our boy for any time away (space is limited, so reserve ahead of time). Toonces also has to have an inhaler 2x a day, and she took care of his every need. We are now relaxed going away on vacation knowing he has his "Auntie Sam" and Papa Tom (this is how we now refer to them both), to spend his days while we're away. I've never boarded my cat before, but since I was going to Burning Man for 10 days and would be completely out of touch, I wanted to find 24/7 dedicated care for her. Tommy was fantastic with our 2 kittens! It really shows how much he genuinely loves and cares for all cats! As a cat's mother it's very difficult to leave my cat when I go on vacation, in Sheri I found what I always look for in a petsiter. She has two cats, her whole house is full of toys for cats, each window has hammocks for cats, big windows to the street for the entertainment of the kitties. When I met Sheri she inspired confidence to leave my baby. Every day she send pictures of my cat and told me what he did that day, exactly what someone who loves your pet want so you can enjoy the holidays and have peace of mind To know that he is having a good time. Since I have my cat I do not go on a trip like I used to because of sadness to leave it in a kennel but now that I know Sheri and I know that my cat has a complete room for himself with windows to the street and a wonderful and playful petsiter is definitely going to be easier to take more trips. I put my kitty, Milou in to board with Sam at Purrific for almost 3 weeks and I have to say, they were absolutely brilliant. Sam obviously adores cats and spent a lot of time caring for her. As she was in Sam's home she got more interaction and I think it is a great alternative to caged boarding. She was groomed daily and Sam sent us photos of Milou so we could see how she was getting on. It meant I did not have to worry about her at all as I knew she was in good hands. They feed them decent food and make sure all the jabs are up to date before taking any cats. Milou came back smelling lovely as she even had a bath before we picked her up. Okay- confession. I renewed my Yelp participation for the primary purpose of writing this review, because we had an amazing experience with purrific. We love our cat like family, so much so that I try not to go away, because I dread boarding her. But I can honestly say, leaving her with Sam was like leaving her with family. I felt reassured that she was having a wonderful time. In fact, when I picked her up, she didn't want to go home with me! She was fluffy, bright eyed, energetic, and happy. Purrific: not just kitty sitters, kitty psychologists and lovers!!! And how amazing that some of my payment went towards a kitty non-profit. Purrific definitely has good kitty karma. I have three kitties and have tried many cat sitting services in their life time. I actually found Purrific after my last kitty sitter would no longer kitty sit due to my one cats bathroom problem, she actually fully quit! Sam came over and I warned her that my kitty would pee on the kitchen floor and I had tried everything. I feared she might not agree to watch them. But Sam basically said, fear not, it didn't bother her and in fact she would even try to fix the problem. Well I left for vacation thinking she was slightly delusional that she could change this behavior in 5 days. And I came back amazed with 3 very happy cats. I was sent videos and pictures while gone and could relax assured to know that my cats were safe and sound and even healing from their issues with the Purrific team. Sam not only left me with new litter she recommended to attract kitties, also gave me a new litter box gratis, since my one kitty apparently did not like the top open box. I cannot say enough good things about Purrific. They are working there because they LOVE and understand cats. Sam was so great to reassure me that any problem my cats had she was not daunted. Even my cute but evil persian has been acting differently since Sam and her teams visit. She really made a big difference in only a few days. And after months of accidents there have been NONE. ZERO. Purrific is the most wonderful cat sitting service I have ever used. Samantha and Tommy truly love cats and it shows in everything they do. They always went above and beyond my expectations in every way for both of my cats, Elvira and Charlie. They board the cats in their home, which has been equipped with a lot of climbing runs and perches. They are also very mindful of the cats' individual personalities and needs. Cats that can "play well with others" are allowed to socialize, and more touchy cats get a private space. When Elvira was diagnosed with terminal cancer they came to my house to care for her when I had to be at work. Samantha even accompanied me to the clinic on the terrible day that I had Elvira put to sleep. Their support and sympathy made it much easier to make it through a very difficult time. It's no exaggeration to say that the cats of Marin are better off because of Purrific. Cats who are boarded there receive a tremendous amount of attention for a very reasonable fee, and the proceeds are used for cat rescue. read more

We needed cat sitters pretty unexpectedly when our normal house-sitter flaked on us so we called Purrific. Sam came over to meet our boys right away and was willing to take care of them for two weeks on short notice. What a relief to find Samantha! She came highly recommended from a friend and was able to accommodate us at the last minute. She is conveniently located in Sausalito and offers pick up and drop off services. One of the perks of the service, besides knowing your pet is safe and happy, is the daily email picture and message sent while you're away! I came to Purrific on very short notice, needing to go back east as soon as humanly possible to be with an elderly family member in extremely delicate health. I researched and troubled over many choices for boarding as well as in-home pet sitting-- even driving from Vallejo all the way to Santa Cruz looking for an appropriate facility for my kitty who has a variety of special needs. I was so worried about what to do with my 10 yr-old Benny, who had been until recently gravely ill with a variety of unusual problems over the course of more than a year, who was still rather frail and who had been having intermittent behavioral problems refusing to eat and messing outside of his litter box. I was completely dejected and desperate, not finding a level of care, professionalism and above all-- healthy cleanliness that made me confident about leaving Benny in the facilities I was visiting in the Bay Area-- until I came upon Purrific Pet Sitting services. Sam, the proprietor of Purrific Pet Sitting, was not at all intimidated by the level of care and attention that Benny would need during my absence, including the possibility that he might need to be seen by a vet if his health became destabilized due to the stress of being boarded. As soon as I met Sam in her beautiful home where she provides Camp Purrific resident boarding for kitties who need more attention or supervision than is possible to be given by a visiting pet-sitter, I knew that the work she does is more a deeply cultivated spiritual calling than simply a day-to-day business-for-profit like any other! Sam has opened her home as well as her ample heart to a pervasively professional, effusively compassionate and deeply personal service to the surrounding community's beloved animal cohorts and "family members." She provided a private bedroom with all necessary accommodations for Benny's care, including a car-load of familiar objects she suggested I bring from home in order for Ben to feel comfortable and make a connection to the space during his 9-day stay. Sam was extremely gentle and generous of spirit with Benny from the moment he came into her home. Not only did she feed and clean up after him and provide him with a place-to-be while I was away-- she gave him medication, reassured him and encouraged him with gentle attention in a family situation (24/7) and allowed him to be aware of the presence of other kitties (some frequent-flyer kitties that are with her regularly and her own kitties who are free roaming in her home), once he was comfortable enough to have his bedroom door open, while still maintaining a comfortable separation from the group through the use of full-size screen doors installed for each cat-boarding area. I was particularly glad that Benny was able to be aware of other cats in the home without the stress of having either the necessity of being in the same space as the others or being so totally closed up in a room by himself behind a solid door, which would have made him feel closed-in and lonely. I have sought Sam's advice about the possibility of fostering a young kitty myself through an organization with which she is familiar, since both Sam as an experienced rescue and care-giving professional, and the Vet who has been working with Benny over the last year have both concurred that he may be more happy if I can find a suitable companion for him to bond with since he continues to pine for company of the family bunnies and another kitty family-member who have all passed on and left him sad and lonely in their absence. I cannot say enough about the loving care that Sam gave my Benny while I was away! She kept in touch with me by text and let me know that he was doing well and showed no sign of failing health or extreme stress and let me know that he was eating well and using his "accommodations" without resistance-- which for Ben is not always the case, especially when he is sad or lonely! Since I will have to be traveling for family purposes more regularly in the near future and no longer have family members or room-mates at home to look after Benny while I'm away, I will very definitely be using the services of Sam and her incredible team at Purrific Pet Sitting as my only choice for the best care of my beloved Benny that any pet-mom could possibly hope for! I am extremely grateful for the service Sam offers and look forward to becoming a regular client-- bringing Benny "on vacation" as a frequent-flyer to his new "home away from home" whenever there is a need! read more

I hired Samantha to keep my buddy, Monkey Business, for fourteen days (in her home) while I went on a church mission trip to Cambodia. Sam is absolutely the best! I returned to a happy, healthy cat and I'm so grateful!! As a result of the international traveling, I came home with a case of severe jet lag! Jerri Meacham with Purrific Pet Sitting is absolutely amazing and I can't say enough about the quality of care she provides my two 8 year old male cats. From the get go Jerri was extremely thorough in wanting to understand the boys preferences from food, to toys, to play time - she cares deeply about her furry clients and is very focused on creating a wonderful experience for the boys while we are away, and spends more than ample quality play time with them at each visit. I always know they are in excellent hands with Jerri! She texts me with pictures and updates during each visit which I so appreciate, and often brings the boys a new toy or two which is certainly not expected but so sweet and deeply appreciated (they tend to be the toys they LOVE most!). Jerri includes bringing in the mail and bringing trash cans out to the curb as part of her service which is so helpful, and always asks that we check in when we get home to ensure there were no travel delays, etc (and if we forget to text, which is often, I always know I'll hear from her asking that we got in ok and that the boys are doing well...she's so on top of things). One of my cats has pancreatitis and Jerri is always asking how that cat is doing so that she can adjust her care for him as needed, and pays special attention to his mood changes and keeps me abreast of how is doing via text. On a couple of longer trips I accidentally did not have quite enough food in the pantry for the boys, and Jerri was so kind in offering to pick up more food for them which could have been a serious pickle otherwise. I trust Jerri immensely and can't speak highly enough of her for all of our pet sitting needs! read more

We used purrific pet sitting while our little guy Lou needed watch during our 2 weeks on the east coast for our wedding. Sam was absolutely a saint. We got daily updates in the form of pictures, emails, and even videos. We knew Lou was in perfect hands. She accommodated our drop off and pick up times and her price is more than fair. Her price is even so low we felt bad paying her as little as we did so we made a donation in her honor. She is absolutely fantastic with kitties and she made us feel at ease and relaxed. We are eternally grateful to Sam for her complete professionalism + tender loving care during a difficult move from Central California to the Bay area. What a great concept! This company is amazing! Not only are the easy to work with and super accommodating but they donate a portion of their proceeds to local animal shelters and programs. Anyways, so we adopted a kitten a few months back and wanted a good environment where he would be comfortable since he is a bit skittish. We live in the East Bay so we met with Sheri who gave us the grand tour of her east bay kitty B&B. These folks literally give cats their own room that is "kitty-proofed" and their own commode (much like a normal hotel). We discussed David's personality so I liked that she catered to our guy's needs. He is young so we wanted him to be able to run around and play as well as socialize. Cats that are sociable are allowed to do so but they are also good about giving the animals their personal space if that is what they need/like. Our kitten figured out fast that running up and down stairs is really fun and also found a good sunning spot on one of her shelving units. Sheri hosted our little man David Bowie for 5 days over the Thanksgiving holiday and she was fabulous at giving us daily updates as well as photos of our handsome "Bo". She even sent him home with a new toy that she said he liked which was a very sweet gesture. She was very easy to work with and super accommodating. Sheri was always very quick to respond to us as well which is much appreciated! All in all, we will be return customers. I highly recommend Purrific Pet Sitting and it definitely the best pet sitting services I have ever had, (and I have tried a lot). I have two 18 year old cats that I would consider "high maintenance". They both have kidney disease, one with food allergies and both are very finicky eaters. I have always had a pet sitter come to my home but recently I began to worry that twice a day care was not enough due to several bad "incidences" with other pet sitters coming to my home. That is when I reached out to Purrific Pet Sitting and Sam has been fabulous. I travel a lot for work and have been using them for several months and my cats come home happy, healthy and looking great. They are not stressed at all by my absences and in all their years I have never had a pet sitter that my cats liked so much that they don't even mind that I am gone. Sam caters to them with food multiple times a day making sure that my finicky eaters actually eat. They even have put on weight while under Sam's care, which I had been trying to do (but unsuccessfully) for weeks. They get a lot of attention, brushed everyday and I get daily updates on how they are doing. She lets them go where ever they want but mostly they prefer to stay in the "cat room" which is a bedroom just for them. The bedroom has a screened door instead of a regular door so they are not "closed off" and locked in a room all day. Sam caters to the personality of each cat making sure they each get what they need to have a comfortable, no stress stay.
