3+ years later and we are still coming back, and now with 1 more pup! Our 6 month old giant Husky mix just had his trial day and clearly had a blast, he slept like a baby when we got home. Ruby still loves it, we hadn't been in probably 5 months and when I pulled up her tail was wagging and excited to go in. Couple updates, they're still the best, the customer service is awesome, the services like baths, nail clippings are really good. There's a free bath but a nicer bath and grooming is very affordable. Also, they require bordtatella shots every 6 months which is a good thing and to make it easy, they can administer there as well. Most of the employees have been there for years, they love the the dogs, the dogs love them, and everyone is super nice - still love Park-A-Pup! read more

The staff is so Kind and friendly my Dog Tbow loves to play here it's well staffed so all Dogs are safe while getting to socialize and exercise I know he has fun there because when we get there he runs to the door and almost breaks it down he's so excited! I love Park A Pup. I've been using it for about six years, and what I do is buy a package of Daycare, so you get a discount, and they also will give you a free "simple wash" anytime the dog is in for daycare. This was my first time using a kennel, so I don't have anything to compare it to , but they seemed very friendly and when I came to pick up my dog they had all the dogs outside and a worker was holding a couple dogs in her lap while spraying a few others off with the hose to beat the heat. They send you pictures of what your pup is up to if you ask for them, which was nice. My dog seemed happy and healthy after her stay so I'd say it was a great experience. read more

Definitely will board my pups here again.  I  will more likely use a business services like Park-a-Pup becuase its employees provide an honest assessment of the doggies.  One of our two doggies Ashley passed a trial day boarding so I can take her to any of Park-a-Pup locations.  Bailey, however, showed his teeth to another dog and stalked it, so we can't use Park-a-Pup for him.   But, on a positive note, they invited us back after Bailey is finished with his training.  Park-a-Pup is a small site with caring employees and outdoor doggie activities. This review is long overdue. I have been bringing my girl to park a pup since Oct 2018, when she was 4 months old. I consider her a frequent flyer since she comes to daycare so often. My dog has learned to socialize with people and all kinds of dogs while coming to day care since a young age. The staff is always kind and great at communicating with me if any concerns arise. Once again, I'm beyond thrilled with this awesome place!! My Simba was just there for 9 nights and had a great time! He hadn't been away from me for that long in 18 months, and yet Amelia remembered him! She and Annie and all the staff clearly absolutely love dogs. Owner decided to ban my dog from coming because they did not let us know the specific times they are closed. Apparently they are closed for 3 whole hours for lunch. We arrived without knowing this and no one would answer the phone or door. We called a few times and someone from another location answered and claimed the owner would try to come open the door in 10 minutes, unfortunately we had a plane to catch and told them we can ONLY wait 10 minutes. Over 15 minutes went by so we called again and the man on the phone said he would be there in 10 MORE minutes. We told them we couldn't wait and if they couldn't come in 10 minutes we would have to go. Well 10 more minutes went by and we had to go. It was on the owner, he decided to still show even though we told him we had to go. So the owner got mad and banned us. LOL we don't care as we would not want to attend a daycare with petty owners and bad policies. Who closes for 3 whole hours? If they are closed for three hours for lunch, who is taking care of the dogs? Also we were not ever informed that we were banned until today when we showed up for drop-off. We belong to other daycares much nicer anyways. Congrats on loosing a loyal paying customer, even thought we know you don't care. I do feel sorry for your staff as I have heard very bad things about how they are treated. Also to confirm I have NEVER had a bad interactions with any of the employees there except for the owner himself! Even his employees told us that the owner makes rash decisions at times and if it were up to them, this would not have happened! My dog is much better off at his other daycare where we are treated nicely. read more

I take my pit mix, Indy, to Park-A-Pup for playtime about once a week and for boarding as needed. She LOVES going there. She gets so excited to see the staff and they are so sweet and caring with her. Indy is a rescue and there are always issues that go along with that. The staff at Park-A-Pup are attentive and able to accommodate her needs. A bonus: if you buy a package of daycare visits, services are included! Great place to "park" your dogs for the day or while away. This was the first time I had boarded my dogs and the staff was welcoming and kept me informed about their stay, especially during the time that the county faced power outages. My dogs have a more complex feeding recipe and the staff had no complaints about following it. That was very much appreciated! My pups are usually shy but during their boarding time, they seemed to have broken out of their shells and their report card showed that they loved spending time playing with their dog and human friends. I'm shocked this place gets so many positive reviews, but most of them are from years and years ago. We are in the process of looking for doggy daycare and are evaluating places. Stopped in on a Saturday mid-day (before they close for lunch) and a couple things really stood out to us about Park-A-Pup: the gal behind the counter was nice enough and told us we could bring our dog in on Monday for a free day where they would assess him and make sure his temperament was good with other dogs. Fair enough and sounds reasonable. "Do we need to bring in his vaccination records?" "Nah", she says--"you're good to go". Oof. So apparently they let dogs in without knowing what those dogs might be bringing with them, despite what their website says. Not good. We toured the facility, which is basic and bare-bones. The kennels were filthy, and there was a Mastiff crammed into a kennel that was WAY too small for him. "He doesn't play nice with smaller dogs" was the explanation. I don't want to know how long he was in there. Outside, there was 1 single employee sitting in the shade on her phone, completely ignoring a rather aggressive "play" happening between a couple dogs, and there was literally dog shit everywhere. She didn't notice us at first but finally did and hopped up and got off her phone. Clearly a clock-jockey just collecting a paycheck and doesn't give a crap about what happens to your pets. Maybe things are different Mon-Fri. Maybe the pandemic has been challenging to find good employees. We haven't written this place off entirely; their location is convenient and pricing is good, but we are definitely continuing our search. I suggest you do the same. read more

Unfortunately, won't be bringing our pup back here again. We dropped our dog off for a test visit around 8am and got a call back a few hours later that reported she was not getting along with the other dogs. This is fine, as she is an older anxious girl, so I went to pick her up. Upon parking at the facility, the noise of dogs barking was incredibly loud, and it sounded like there was no control over them. I heard a young voice yelling at the same volume for the dogs to "shut up", and heard the person groaning and yelling continually at the dogs in the yard. When I walked in to pick up my pup, there were only two young girls for what sounded like a ton of uncontrolled dogs. One was running in and out and looked very stressed. The other young lady came out to assist me and she was very nice. When the worker brought my pup out, she was pulling so hard to get out the door I barely had time to finish up with the worker. The worker also showed me her lunch food and said our girl didn't eat any of it, which is very unlike her. Once I got her home she ate everything up and fell asleep, exhausted from only a couple hours at this place. Seems like it could be good for a low stress super active dog. The staff were certainly overwhelmed and could not handle caring for any of the pups adequately. Will have to find another place for our girl. read more

Aeneas was boarding when the bomb cyclone hit the bay area. We were up in Washington state, due to drive home the day of the storm and pick him up the next morning. I called Park-a-Pup a couple of days before the storm to see if they had room to keep Aeneas another day -- we didn't like the idea of driving down the coast for 10 hours in a storm the whole way. The staff was great and they extended the reservation for a day. Then on the day the storm hit the bay area I got a message that the area around the kennel and the play yards had flooded. The staff and the dogs were fine, but they had to close the next day to clean up the mess. By the time I picked Aeneas up the following day the kennel looked great and the dogs were out playing in the yards. I've used Park-a-Pup for a few years now and I've always been really impressed with the care they take with the dogs and the excellent communication with owners. It's reassuring to know that when something like a bomb cyclone hits they're able to keep dogs and staff safe. This is a great kennel. read more

My Dog LOVES Park-a-Pup. The staff knows her by name, every time we arrive, no matter how long it's been since our last stay. She is clean and happy when we pick her. Even better, we can arrange a bath before she goes home. She's a dog that loves to jump and play. And when she comes home, she's exhausted. I don't know the staff by name, but they are the best. She is safe and warm when she's there. That's the part I like best. My only suggestion, and it has nothing to do with the high service level. I wish the front courtyard was, re-done, made inviting and updated. It would take a lot. read more

I have a rescue pup who is terrified of people and the moment she met the employees of park a pup she has really opened up and adores them. The services provided are spectacular at such a low cost! I feel so confident leaving my fur baby here! When we pull up, she runs to the door and can't wait to see her friends (the employees, she could care less about the other dogs :-)). I don't bring her often (only for boarding when I travel) but all the employees recognize her every time and are ready with hugs when we arrive. They also send a "report card" after her visit describing what she did during her stay and usually include photos (see pix). They also are always diligent in making sure my sweet, rather old doggo gets her medication morning and evening. Dropped off my Lab-Pit (Max) at Park-a-Pup on Saturday morning. The check-in process was super easy: 2 short forms, vaccination papers, and a few simple questions to set Max up for a successful stay. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Note: Make sure your pup has all his vaccines and are up to date when boarding anywhere. Some vaccinations take time to set in. I would call in and check to see what's required at least 2 weeks prior to boarding. read more

Every single staff member knows her by name and can match her to me, too (I've worked in the animal care industry and I know that's sometimes tricky!). They make drop-off for daycare super easy - no appointment necessary, just sign in and hand over your dog. They are attentive and have notified me right away any time they noticed something unusual with my dog, and I feel confident knowing she's safe when I leave her there. My baby girl Luna needed a place to stay. Shes aout 80% potty trained and we didnt want to trouble any one over the 3 day memorial holiday. I had to workin novato and drop her off before staying a night in NAPA. They place was closed monday for the holiday but the arranged for us to pick up Luna any ways. We were only charged for one night, and got a 15% discount, not bad since we dropped her off sunday morning, and picked her up monday after 5pm. The worker who checked her in was friendly, the facilities looked fine, with a nice playground for the dogs to get fresh air. Luna was happy to come home but she didnt come back scared or sick, and back to her normal self by days end. Def will use this spot again. read more
