The onion soup was really cheesy which I like and the broth wasn't overly salty. And the surprise of the meal was the onion rings - I usually don't like overly battered rings but this batter was sweet, almost like uber fried donut, which I liked. The strawberry rhubarb pie to end the meal was packed, though just a bit too sweet. Overall service was friendly and efficient. The Codmothers has offers you just can't refuse. The onion rings were some of the best I've eaten in over a decade. Enjoyed a warm June evening on the picnic tables provided. We wanted to try the tartar sauce and they were out. Fish and Chips". Being from landlocked Alberta, we have being trying to eat as much local seafood as we could on this trip. So we stopped in to this unassuming food trailer. I went with the Fresh Huron Walleye with chips and coleslaw (18.00 bucks), two of my family members went with the Walleye sandwiches and they spit fries with my youngest. The portions were HUGE. My only complaint of my dish is that there was way too many fries and not enough coleslaw. I would have liked to see more of a balance (look at my photo). The fish was amazing, and probably one of the best we had on the trip. We definitely didn't need the extra order of fries, we could have all four of us split mine and been full. Love the little picnic tables to sit at. Definitely worth the stop. If we ever on that highway again, we will be there!

It was cold autumn month when we were here but they offered a dining area outside with heater. On the menu, they offered one piece fish and chips combo, or fish and shrimp combo, or chicken and back ribs at less than $25. They also offered all you can eat fish and chips at $28.99. We were pretty hungry so a few of us went with all you can eat fish and chips. The fries were mediocre but the fish was awesome. Each one piece of fish here was cut into two half pieces when they fried it. The fish was perfectly cooked and flavoured with very crispy breading with perfect thickness. The white fish tasted so fresh and soft. The owner was so nice to renew our fish a couple of times until we were full. Very satisfied with our dining experience here and strongly recommend their fish and chips.

The serving was an okay portion for the price I paid. They were serving whitefish that day. It was freshly made (came in fresh from the pan). No "fishy" smell, and the fries are also freshly made. The place is clean but a bit tight. But tables are big enough to accommodate a comfortable group of 4 people. My only critique is that the fish/batter lacks a bit of flavor. A bit of salt on the batter would be nice. Yes, they provided salt and pepper shakers but it's different when the food itself had been salted a bit and not bland. Other than that, the fish was perfectly fried. The staff is nice and polite. I still recommend this place. If you get the chance to dine outside if weather and temperature permits, do it! They have sittings outside near the lake and no... there's no mosquitoes outside

If headed towards Tobermory, it will be on your right shortly before you get to any of the entrances to Bruce Peninsula National Park. It took 30 minutes for them to call our number. Granted, they were pretty busy... But 30 minutes for 2 orders of fries is a little crazy. My fries were good (although not 30 minutes good) but could have been a little warmer. The person I was with said their poutine was good. I don't eat meat so this review is based solely on the fries and service. I'd still recommend checking it out for yourself! OH and the address here on Yelp didn't take us to the chip wagon. We had to continue driving until we saw it on the left hand side (leaving tobermory) which was about 7km.
