Puttshack is such a great new spot in Edina for a date night, company party or outing with friends. The golf is fast, super interactive (literally - there's a trivia golf hole), and creates great conversation. I'm no longer in the dating game, but if you are and you're looking for a first date spot, I'd highly recommend. The menu surprised me and I was a little nervous, but I went with the BBQ chicken flatbread and it was actually delicious! I only ordered wine otherwise I'd bet I'd have raves about the cocktail as well. I think this will be a great addition for the area! read more

We had drinks before we started our round. I had the ultimate margarita which tasted good. The first 9 holes there were no issues, but the second 9 holes had technology issues, but it's to be expected with a new place and working the bugs out. I have never played putt-putt like this before, very fun and interactive. Each hole is its own unique experience. Downside is it is pretty expensive for only 9 holes of golf and goes by fairly quickly. We were done in 30 minutes for 4 of us to golf. The food was pretty tasty, we loved the chicken wild rice rolls, a fun spin on a MN classic. Also liked the chicken curry skewers. Pivoted to here after other plans weren't going to work out last night. Got in no problem despite accidentally pre-booking the wrong day in my haste to pivot. Great place, clean, spacious, and well lit. The food was great, we just had the Thai fried chicken bites. Good spice brought down to a great balance by the sweet chili & sesame glaze. Decent drink selection, fair pricing. The server was amazing and I regret that I cannot recall her name. She was very prompt and always looking to help with a smile, and you could tell she was invested in our experience. I pre-booked a reservation for 4, when I checked in the system couldn't find my reservation after I finished checking in. Then when I asked for help they couldn't find my reservation and sent me over to a long line in another area to ask another person for help. I then asked that guy for help and he couldn't find it either and he tried sending me back to the people i started with, I insisted that they sent me to him so he VERY begrudgingly said he'd sign me up again and I wouldn't be charged. It took him a bit and he got us set up. Then my group had to wait in line again to get logged in and get our balls and such. Once we started it was SO crowded. We did skip around to help with some of the wait, but they definitely let too many people in to the same course (of the 3 available) at the same time. Because of the delay we were going to be late for our dinner reservation AND we didn't have time to get drinks to enjoy while we played. I went and chatted with the host stand and they were very nice and said that our reservation would stand until we were ready - yay a good experience for that! So we played our 9 holes, those were fun! We loved the variety of holes and how the ball kept your score, VERY COOL! After we played we checked in for dinner and were seated right away. We waited a LONG time for a waiter. When Mario did help us he was super nice and helpful. The specialty drinks we ordered were great (see in pics)! Our food was pretty good, not stellar, but tasty. I had bao buns and the bun part was dry. My friend loved her gyro sliders and the guys liked their burgers. The food took a long time to come out, too. Service is slow as others have said. I blame that there isn't enough staff and not the staff themselves. The 3 is because we had fun when we were mini golfing, the drinks were awesome, and the waiter and hostess were super nice. This place is super cool but it has some issues with the newness (I assume it's new). We started at the bar because our first section was kinda packed with people. No one came to the bar. We stood there for just under 10 minutes and never got a drink. Not the best start. We went back to our putting area and it was less packed. The guy kinda explained the rules but failed to tell us that the balls are tracked and you start and finish your turn. Pretty huge details to leave out. We figure it out after two holes. We loved the space and the putting holes. There are some kinks to work out for sure but this is such a great place to take a date or the family. read more

Pretty good food for a place like this (in comparison to a bowling alley or arcade, for example). Great service. It was very loud, granted we were there on Dec 26th and there were a lot of families. The latest entertainment option in the newly renovated Southdale Center, Puttshack offers a fresh take on mini golf. Highly recommend securing a reservation online to secure your tee time. Expect lots of noise and crowds. Didn't check out the bar/restaurant, but it looked decent! I appreciated them having a coat check as you entered. read more

My family made reservations on New Years while I was visiting and on New Year's Day there was a 2 for one special where we got 2 courses for the price of one. We had our reservations early evening and it was easy to check in. They have a free coatcheck on the first floor and the restaurant, bar, and holes are upstairs. It's a family friendly bar/restaurant feel. You can order drinks while playing. Your golf ball is electronically collected for you and keeps score. Some of the holes are pretty tricky and there are hole in one options and super putts and some trivia hole options. We did the Amber track first then I forgot the name of the second one. You don't have to go in order especially if there are a lot of people playing but I guess that's why they have timed reservations to get through the flow of traffic. Lots of fun for all ages. I didn't check out any food or drinks but looks like a nice place to hangout. It's located in a large shopping mall area so parking is easy. read more

Wow! New fav place!! Grew up shopping at Southdale and can't believe how much it's changed! Puttshack blew my mind away! Bartender Rayjon gave amazing recommendations for food and cocktails! Had an Espresso Martini and a Porn Star Martini - passionfruit is my faaav and was so fun to watch them make and smoke it! For food: the Korean buns were my fav. Mouth watering! The lamb skewers and buffalo chicken dip were delicious too! The mini golf: checking in at the kiosk was easy then you look on the board for what color you are. We had ruby! First off had issues with the golf balls. They wouldn't come out of the dispenser and then the computer wouldn't register them. The golf attendants pretty much ignored us and acted bored and like they didn't want to be there. There is no way to pick which course you want it just automatically assigns you (so if you had already done it-there's no way to pick a different one?) The course are creative and fun and the drinks were delicious but it is wayyyy to overpriced and not worth going to twice read more

I can only speak to the mini golf experience as we didn't order any food or drinks. The technology involved with the mini golf was extremely cool - everyone has their own ball and the sensors keep track of how many strokes you've taken, what your score is, etc. All the info is up on a screen as well. Downside is - short courses and the cost for playing is too high. My family of 4 played 9 holes for $50 and it only took us about 25 minutes. Not much bang for our buck. It was a fun experience but I wouldn't return to play. read more

The decor of this place is like no other! I mean, you can just come to take pics and still be satisfied lol but before you leave though sign yourself up for mini golf! They have couple of different courses to play, the wait time varies depending on time, I went with my friend and it only took about 5 mins because it took us hours to catch up over apps and drinks. The menu was on the unique side, I do wish they had the staples. Their drink list was long but not enough interesting NA to try. The service was great and the staff their were very attentive and answered our questions. They'll give you the info on how to play and what the goal is especially if you are there for the first time or first time at mini golf. They tally the scores on a screen like bowling so take a large group with you and have first being the winner! The challenges vary from easy to hard but super fun too with a sassy computer I might add lol. I'm looking forward to going with a big group in the near future! Food Dinner started okay, but went downhill fast. We had reservations and got seated at a high top in a busy section instead of a booth. It took 10 minutes to get our drink order in, then another 10 to get our drinks. The drinks were very good. We only got waters after asking another server. The apps (buffalo chicken dip and Brussels sprouts) were nothing to write home about and came about 5 minutes before our plates and silverware. Dishes and empty drinks stacked up and no one came to bus them and when they did, they also bussed my current drink was still 1/3 full. The host tried to take our menus because they ran out, however we hadn't ordered yet. I can't blame her, we hadn't seen our server forever. The only reason he came to take our order is that the host asked him so she could get some menus. The Cobb salad I had was decent, but a friend did not get their pizza and had to wait 10 minutes. Mini Golf We had a tee time 90 minutes after our meal, but slow service and missed entree meant we went over. We were all ready to putt when someone broke glass on our course. They had everyone move to the other course, and that line looked like it was over an hour. We had babysitters and couldn't wait that long so we asked if we could get a refund. The manager told us they don't give refunds. There were multiple parties waiting behind us to talk to the manager. read more

I've only played mini golf at Puttshack based on various reviews I read about food and service being less than stellar. I like the format and scoring. It really levels the field. The reservation process is pretty straightforward. Needed assistance with check in the first time but not since. The associate that explained the game to us the first time was exuberant. Again, pretty straightforward. My only criticism is that the 9 holes are short. We've signed in, played, and left within 15-30 minutes. And I've only ever played the Emerald course. I don't understand how they assign players and why we only ever get Emerald especially when other courses appear less busy. I think it's fun and good for bad weather days albeit brief. Parking is easy. Never utilized the coat check. Make a reservation. read more

The food is overpriced and service was far from good. pretty empty in the dining room today but still a long wait for food and drinks. ordered our drinks and food, drinks took a bit to come out, it was a water and lemonade so not to much. When we ordered our food the kids asked for a side of ranch, which I'm willing to pay for but when we finally got our food no ranch. told our server and still no ranch till we were done eating, yet I still got charged. I asked for salt and pepper, waited and waited, then was brought out rocks of salt and chili flakes. Again I asked for just plain salt and pepper, the annoyed waitress than brought over the two biggest salt and pepper shakers I have ever seen, which didn't work. they than stated people don't want to touch salt and pepper shakers so they don't have them, which is fine but why not just tell me that in the beginning that they don't have salt and pepper for customer use. if that's the case pretty expensive food not to even have that choice. Then they stick the payment in your face, which the least you can tip is 18 percent, really :( So crappy service crappy food and had to tip 18 percent cause they shove it in your face. if I want to pay 18 for a burger and fries I'll go elsewhere , at least I can get my sides and salt and pepper read more

The staff weren't friendly (if you could find them), and the bartenders were rude and seemed annoyed you were trying to order from them. They seem like they just want to fill drink tickets and have zero interaction with customers. The mini golf was incredibly expensive, poorly monitored, and the holes are way too tight. $15 gets you maybe 10 minutes of putting, and 30 minutes awkwardly trying to stay out of the way of the next group or getting upset at randoms trying to cut in and not play the holes in order. If it wasn't crowded you could easily get through 9 holes in 10-15 minutes as a 4 some. My group walked away feeling underwhelmed and cheated because of how little putting time you get. In their defense, the holes actually are fun and the ambiance is really nice. Just way overpriced for how little time you actually get to putt. Could be a great place if they hired friendly people that didn't seem so annoyed to be at work, and if they lowered their prices. The rude bartenders and feeling cheated on the golf side caused me leave and eat dinner next door at the galleria. I'm disappointed I gave gift cards as Christmas gifts now. read more

It took us 45 minutes to play the first 9 holes because they overbooked the course. Also, it cost $61 for two people to play 18 holes. Way overpriced, I did it one time for a date night but I wouldn't come back due to the high cost. They also put blocks behind where you swing your putter that get in the way of your swing. This messed up my shots 3-4 times and was really annoying. They need to move those out of the way. I was told it was for safety, which was a bit ridiculous because you couldn't even have a backswing more than a foot on a couple of the holes. Some holes had ramps where you needed to hit the ball hard but you couldn't swing enough to hit the shot. Everyone around me was also complaining about it. Some of the holes were fun and very well designed, though. The prices of drinks were also not bad for Edina - $5 for a beer on a Saturday night. I've been here twice and had a fantastic time putting! The courses are so fun. However, the service here makes it less enjoyable. The servers are not welcoming and have gotten an attitude from them during both visits, YIKES. Ive been dying to try their brussel sprouts, but have not had luck getting them during both visits. The games and the atmosphere were fun. However we did not enjoy a worker yelling at us while we were trying to figure out whether we are in the sapphire or ruby side. He was very condescending and used language that is not appropriate for the workplace.
