We came here upon invitation on New Year's Eve masked night with a small group of friends and had a great time. The entrance is discreet/mysterious as we did not see the name of the establishment in the front but just noticed a few people waiting in line (it is next to the liquor store). Parking was easy to find in a nearby structure on a side street. The gentlemen who greeted us were both pleasant. The space is rather small but offered a chic ambiance and intimate event which was perfect for the night. The European flavor could be felt in the atmosphere and decor. Loved the style of the dining tables behind the green curtains. We enjoyed the cocktails served at the bar area and are looking forward to coming back to try the food next time. This was a great find!

Peeking out from the curtains (which are actually a rich shade of green).

First impressions: Dim(ly-lit). Intimate. Expensive. Puzzle evokes a feeling of exclusivity, even though they are (now) open to the public. The door is unmarked, which leads to an air of mystery. Staff was very accommodating from the doorman/manager, bartender and server. There was only one other party at the time in this smaller space, but I could see the setup for a larger party across the way while being tucked away in one of their private, green velvet alcoves. There is a small bar, but it's standing room only just for drinks. The menu is small, but there is something for everyone. You have choices from their starters (alongside caviar), to their main dishes that include steak, seafood and pasta. There is a Chef's Salad on offer if you're not in the mood for something heavier. Amuse bouche was something I've never had before-nor will I ever have again-but I'm glad I gave it a try (sea bream with caviar in ponzu sauce). Filet mignon was fantastic; I asked for it to be prepared a certain way and to be honest, it's so dark that I couldn't tell if this was to my specifications but what I had was delicious. Alongside this were carrots and mashed potatoes, and my only complaint is I wish the portion size of these sides were a little more generous since they measured up taste-wise with the steak. Finally, dessert was the chocolate dome with passion fruit; the flavors co-existed beautifully, and the presentation was also on point. So glad I was able to try Puzzle, and I look forward to returning due to the top-notch service, food, and atmosphere. I cannot wait to see what they come up with next...

Great intimate scene with amazing live music! Would be such a great spot for a private event! Come chill and have caviar and boogie.

I discovered this magical place on Sunset, a restaurant where the food exceeds all my expectations and a speakeasy nightclub with breathtaking decor. I highly recommend it!

Good vibes, good old fashioned and also a lot of tributes to France in the decoration. Always a good night here.

From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly accommodating, and having the owner, Adam, present and involved made the experience feel extra special. You can tell this place is run with real pride and passion. The space itself is stunning -- rich with history (we were told it was once Charlie Chaplin's studio and later a library), and you feel that character everywhere you look. Books line the walls, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. The staff was attentive, kind, and on top of everything all evening, and the food was fantastic. And if you love wine, you are in very good hands -- their knowledge and selection are outstanding. Beautiful venue, wonderful people, unforgettable experience. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special night. Can't wait to go back!

The atmosphere is quiet and sophisticated, the kind of place that immediately lowers your shoulders. The staff are attentive without hovering, genuinely warm, and deeply knowledgeable. Craig and Randee are true sommeliers: intelligent, perceptive, and able to guide you to exactly the right pour based not just on preference, but on mindset. That said, the wine list is so strong you could throw a dart and land well every time. The food complements the experience beautifully. Order a pizza and a charcuterie board and let them do their work alongside the wine. After leaving, I sat in my car for a few minutes just to savor the lingering sense of peace and equilibrium--exactly what I needed to carry me into the following day. V Wine Room isn't just a destination; it's a pause button.

We both ordered the Steak Frites cooked medium rare, and they were excellent. The steaks were perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful, and exactly as ordered. The fries were crispy and delicious, especially when paired with the chimichurri sauce, which added the perfect amount of freshness and flavor. We chose to sit outside with our dog and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and provided great service throughout the meal. The only downside was an interaction with the hostess. It was a warm day, and I briefly had my dog sitting on my lap while trying to help him cool down. She came to our table and rather abruptly told me to put my dog back on the floor. While I understand restaurant policies must be followed, the situation could have been handled in a much friendlier and more professional manner without being rude and giving an attitude. That said, the food was excellent, the patio was enjoyable, and our waiter helped make the experience a positive one. We'd definitely come back for the Steak Frites alone!

Unfortunately, I think the vibe is completely off with this type of food, and I think it's hurting their customer base (I.e, there's a sports watching day, and live DJ?, but the food is definitely more for upscale vibes). I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little. Moreover, their wine list is not extensive considering it's a wine bar, and wine mentioned in their name :) Anyways I've digressed. With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The staff is well-dressed, well-trained, and genuinely friendly; the host on duty, Bella, tended to us during our short wait, keeping us engaged and getting us seated just as soon as she could. The decor blends spartan industrial chic with dark wood accents that tempter what might be a cold environment, making it inviting and comfortable. Our server, Diego, got right to us, answered menu questions with good humor, and convinced the chef to make my wife a dinner-time dish when he discovered her first selection had run out. Bread service (on request) was artisan sourdough, hot from the oven, served with rich butter and a tiny mound of salt. Simple and very tasty. My wife's Cacio e Pepe was, by her estimation, the very best she's ever had. The al dente pasta was coated in a sharp Parmesan that was keenly offset by the sweetness of a Tomato Jam served on the side. A very well-balanced and satisfying bite. For my own part, the Quiche Lorraine was buttery and rich, and brimming with bacon and cheese. The lightly dressed salad alongside was a perfect foil, cutting the sharpness nicely. I must also mention that the folks next to us had a table full of yummy-looking, yummy-smelling food, from a cheese and charcuterie board to pizza, an omelet and beautifully prepared veggies.
