    RIGATONI VODKA

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in LA! Super cute ambiance and date night atmosphere. Great for pasta and yap on a girls night out. The rigatoni vodka pasta is a MUST TRY, especially with the meatball. The Vinny's pizza was really tasty too, but the pasta is the best thing there. We tried the tiramisu and La Frenchie cocktails. Food is great, so are the vibes and the service is super attentive and sweet!

Last Night was our first time trying Met Him At A Bar. We've previously tried The Night We Met. Let me just say that we will definitely be coming back. The food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The entire restaurant was beautiful as well. We can't wait to return.

Our host, Robbie, made such an incredible impression of the space-- absolutely charming, kind and accommodating. Jake was our server, we appreciated his attentiveness throughout the experience. There was also an absolute QUEEN serving tables right beside ours who was really owning the space as their own (pronouns unknown but very much giving she/they). I felt like we were in theirs and Robbie's living room honestly, it's exactly the kind of vibe I long for when going out and they BROUGHT THE DAMN HOSPITALITY. Food menu consisted of classic brunch items, I really appreciated the couple non alcoholic options the have + got ther breakfast burrito with truffle potatoes on the side (gobbled those up before the burrito gurl). Would be cool to see more vegan/vegetarian friendly dishes for future visits.. also, try their lemon donut IT'S TO DIE FOR. But honestly? I'll be back for the vibes alone.

Bunched here multiple times, all great, but this was our first time for dinner. Ordered the Met Him At Sunset, which was sweetly smoked, nice but not mind blowing. Wine list skewed Italian. The charcuterie was on point, a salty, cured, meaty jumpstart to a proper meal. The husband complimented the thickly grilled bread. Memorable. The bolognese was giving that rich Italian American realness. I've been on the hunt, as you know, for a decent bolognese, and I think I found the jackpot; when ordered w a meatball, every al dente bite is coated w a nice mix of veal and pork. I was happy as a clam! Pasta alla Norma, per the husband, was passable, but eggplant v overcooked. Scant. Disappointing. Overlooked at best... he thought 4 stars was too generous, but this is my account.

One thing we get to enjoy when we live in a large, sprawling city like Los Angeles is not only a wide range of ethnic eateries but fun themed clusters too. That is what we found at Met Him At A Bar (MHAAB from here on out, LOL). Right on the opposite corner is Met Her At A Bar, and it is next to Her Thai and catty-corner from The Night We Met. Whew! A lot to digest. We picked this one to start with and may try the others. Parking is an issue, but the gods were smiling on us and we found a spot at the end of the block, free. Whew. I am not sure we will always be that lucky, but if you don't mind hiking a bit, there are paid parking lots/garages in the vicinity. Now, back to MHAAB. Good food, cheery bright space, best for lunch, imho, with a nice selection of all the usual up-and-coming dishes, for reasonable prices. The service, courtesy of Connor and Carlos, was excellent. The food is all fresh and with loads of eye-appeal. See my photos. The space is spotless (look at the windows, that is always a tell). The portions are generous so we took half of everything home (except dessert and beverages). The decor is organic. Music overhead was upbeat sort of eclectic disco and catchy. Two suggestions for the owners: amplify the vegetarian choices and find a way to knock down the echoic factor -- it was a bit hard to hear our own conversation with all the hard surfaces bouncing noise around. Other than that, it was a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon in Mid-Wilshire. Check it out.

Came for dinner and catch up with one of my girlfriends. We had a reservation for outside. Food was great! Service was JUST OKAY. Majority of the time we weren't checked up on which always makes your mood go down. I always give the benefit of the doubt because it can get busy however this was a little different. Parking can be hard depending on the timing however they do have valet for $17.

Went for Dine LA and honestly such a good deal!!! Made a resy and everything was smooth. My friend and I each got different dishes so we could try more, which made it even more worth it. The bruschetta was super fresh, light, and a great starter. The tomatoes were juicy and bright with that classic garlic and basil flavor. Nonna's meatball was also really good. It was tender and the marinara that had that slightly sweet, tomato-forward flavor with parmesan melted into it. And paired with the bread, it felt very comforting. The rigatoni vodka was solid. Pasta was cooked well, nice and al dente, and the sauce was creamy and so rich. The margherita pizza was a little on the smaller side, but honestly perfect for the two of us ladies to share alongside everything else. The tiramisu was a really nice way to finish the meal. Light, creamy and balanced. I loved the vibes here. Dim lighting, cozy ambience, and the service was pretty fast. I would definitely come back again.

Food was exquisite. Highly recommend the charred broccolini. Pasta was well made. Pizza was perfectly crispy and savory. Great serving sizes for 2 people to split everything pictured! Also don't be fooled, the pizza is bigger than the pic makes it seem. Definitely going to try some cocktails next time and their sister cafe across the street. Service was quick about 20 mins maybe less, felt pretty quick. Not too chaotic inside but a good amount of patrons dining in on a Monday evening.

Visited here on a Saturday early evening, which there was no wait. Did not need a reservation upon arrival and I was immediately seated for a party of 3. Surprisingly parking wasn't all too bad either since there was a few residential parking spots behind. They also offer valet here, but not sure how much. We went ahead and ordered the Caprese salad, rigatoni vodka, truffle ravioli, and the sausage pizza. Everything came out in a timely manner. The caprese salad was kind of underwhelming, we thought it would be a real salad lol but it was still quite nice. The cheese was surprisingly very light to have. The two pastas we had were both very creamy and flavorful! The truffle ravioli was quite heavy, which it was very cheesy, my bf's favorite. Still delicious! Rigatoni was also delicious to have and I actually may like this one a little more. The pizza was definitely very very cheesy. The toppings are a bit small, so honestly I mainly tasted cheese lol. Overall, the whole experience was very nice! Service was beyond expectation. Our waitress was especially very kind and chipper. This is one of the very few restaurants that I see all the employees genuinely smiling and enjoy being there, serving customers.

I honestly don't know why I didn't take a picture of the food because it was really good. I got the vodka pasta and it was exactly what I wanted, super solid and really flavorful. The whole restaurant itself is really cute too, and I liked the overall atmosphere a lot. I also like that it's in walking distance to other places to grab drinks after. I think they even have another nearby spot too, but I completely forgot the name of it. Overall just a really good dinner spot and definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

I came here just for panna cotta(berries) sooooo light and so good.

While visiting my brother in Ktown. His partner had recommended this pasta spot. We showed up on a Thursday night around 8pm. We got seated right away for a party of three. I got their truffle ravioli, and I added a meatball for protein(loved) My brother got their pesto pasta added a side of chicken. His partner got carbonara added a side of chicken. For dessert we were all so stuffed but I couldn't get strawberry panna cotta in San Francisco, so we had to. And Oh MY Geez it was light and simply just amazing. I would return for sure if I ever visited again.

Tasty Italian eats with reasonable prices. Went for a weekend dinner. Street parking is tough, but they do have valet ($17). Did not have reservations, but was lucky enough to snag seats at the bar right away. It definitely is loud in the restaurant, so be prepared to raise your voice to be heard. Ordered a montepulciano wine and a peroni N/A. The wine was on the lighter side but still had a bit of flavor to it. The Peroni N/A is what it is - one of the better N/As around. Had the following for dinner: - arugula salad (veggies were fresh, lots of Parmesan cheese to cut the arugula bite) - penne à la vodka (has that kick to it) - bolognese (meaty and saucy) - panna cotta (a little too saucy, not a fan of having to dig into a cup) Next time around, probably would do only 1 penne dish just for variety, but everything was pretty good! The only exception was the panna cotta - would say it was hard to avoid the sauce in the container it was in (and there was a bit too much of it). All in all, would come back!

Went on a Thursday evening and was seated immediately. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Got the rigatoni vodka which I always enjoy. Tried the Panna Cotta which is a light and refreshing dessert

Ask the Community - Met Him At A Bar

Can you come without a reservation just for drinks at the bar?

    yes!

Is there a Happy Hour menu?

Yes there is on their website, just checked it out Monday 3/8/2023. According to YELP it rates #2 as best Monday happy hour. I don't see the menu even coming close to decent happy hour prices. Cocktails and beer specials are about the same during…

    Do they have parking?

    Just street parking

Are reservations required for dinner or can I come as a walk in?

Not required, but I would highly recommend if you're planning to go on a Friday or Saturday night as they tend to be busier.

    How is the outdoor seating?

Their outdoor seating is awesome. Tbh, I prefer it to the inside. There's 2 separate corners, both facing Fairfax. It can get loud with the occasional fire truck or cop car breezing by, but that's L.A. baby.

Do you have to be 21 to get in?

    Nope just to drink

Is this restaurant owned by/affiliated with Met Her At A Bar?

Yes, we are the same owners :)

    Do they take reservations?

No- I believe they operate on a first-come, first-served basis for now, but the website says "reservations coming soon," so hopefully that option will eventually become available.

    Are there gluten free options?

    Yes there are :)

    Do they allow dogs?

    Yes, we are dogs friendly:)

    What time is happy hour?

    4p-6:30p, M-F!

Do they really not have happy hour?

Yes, they do have happy hour!

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. A lot of seating and it's also spacious with an outdoor patio that is open to the customers and also widely used for many event. Everything was clean from what I noticed. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The ambiance is pretty cool - sort of reminded me of the Portrait Bar in NYC with the paintings (albeit upside down). Ordered 5 different drinks between the two of us (no clue what the names are, sorry!): - a strawberry martini type drink - cocktail with fresh peaches - a tropical rum drink - a smoky whisky cocktail - a coconut rum drink Everything was on point delicious, nothing too sweet or boozy - thing the fresh fruit and herbs help quite a bit in not making something too sugary.
