Came here for the World Cup final, the bar is small and intimate and the drinks are cheap, so points for that. However, I had a pretty awful experience with their red headed bartender, the one with the long beard. I waited at the bar for 10mins and watched him take several drink orders from people who arrived after me. I put my hand up to try and get his attention, only to hear him shout "YOU DONT NEED TO WAVE AT ME, I CAN SEE YOU!", all while not looking at me and continuing to serve everyone but me. Eventually one of the other bartenders came out from the back and helped me. Definitely put a damper on my afternoon. Her Little Bar is a great spot and the vibe is significantly improved under the new ownership. It's already attracting a fun and friendly mixed crowd of locals as well as people from across the city looking for an agro-free good time. The bar staff know what they are doing and they are welcoming, chatty and chill. It feels like they actually want you there! My wife and I already love to swing by for a couple of post dinner drinks but we'll be back for some game day fun too - they have a bunch of screens. They don't do food BUT the couple who now own Her Little Bar also own a bunch of the restaurants nearby (Her Thai, Met Him At A Bar, and the recently opened The Night We Met). There are other great options too and whatever you go for, you can eat it in the bar. There's a good selection of drinks and the cocktails are solid. We already have a solid pub/microbrewery but this is a great bar with a different vibe. A bar has been in this location for years but we really love this new incarnation. The corridor between Wilshire Blvd and W 9th is becoming a great pocket for food and drink with good people looking for BS free good times and the Her Little Bar crowd, staff and management are a great example that. I came here with friends on a quiet Wednesday night. There are a lot of good choices for bars in the area but I am so happy we came here. They had a good selection of beers and my friends got their cocktails done perfectly. There was maybe one to two other people in this bar when we walked in. We had a booth all to ourselves. This bar used to be more than a bar-- it was a welcoming community space, curated specifically by management, frequented by not only locals from the neighborhood, but many other regulars throughout the LA area that wanted a well poured drink, casual vibe, and maybe a game of darts or two. I spent many nights here coming alone, but leaving feeling more than welcomed not only by the former knowledgeable and caring staff behind the bar, but also by the large customer base she had grown by building rapport over the years. Unfortunately, under new ownership much of that has changed. Expecting much of the same, I was troubled to find that despite much of the place looking the same, it has unfortunately lost its charm and former comfort. The area for darts, the reason I first walked into this bar with friends some years ago and kept coming back, has been removed in favor of interestingly placed tables for extra seating, The bartenders, while generally friendly, seemed more interested in pouring drinks for friends and coworkers than building similar rapport with the community. Not to mention the higher cocktail prices now implemented for a much less bespoke card of options. I've also noticed that while the digital jukebox remains (another incentive brought in by former management and ownership), much of the song catalog is missing. What remains feels like it caters very specifically to a certain (not afraid to say it-- non-black) audience. Finally, while business is business, ownership is known to delete negative reviews on social media and the like. What used to be a space to either play your own music and have a good time, watch a game and chill after a long day with a bespoke cocktail made by staff intent on building relationships with the community, has now become what feels like a bit of a boys club and a generic shell of what it once was. If you're looking for a generic teetering on pretentious space you can find most anywhere in LA, this is your spot. If you're looking for the comfort of a community dive bar that at this point in the city is a needle in a haystack that used to exist in this space? Look elsewhere. read more

I LOVED THE little bar when it was run by its original owner Rojia. She put her heart and soul into this bar. She completely remodeled the inside and added all the appliances and beer taps. Everything you can imagine she did. The mermaid theme? Because she was Scandinavian. This bar was her life. She made it a local bar. A home to the community. For whatever reason, this couple/hospitality group of the HER restaurants, stole it from her. They made it so that she couldn't renew their lease because they were willing to pay more. Okay fine, you want a bar in addition to all of your other spots? I get that. But why push a female business owner out and then steal her entire idea and business model? You're not Scandinavian. Why would you have a mermaid themed bar? The drinks used to be cheap and perfectly tailored to the guests. Now they are overpriced and completely out of touch to what the community wants/needs. It used to be a sports bar with any game you can think of on with dart boards in the back. All of that is gone. It breaks my heart that this couple is this greedy. You must have started from the bottom at one point but yet they're forgetting what's it's like and they're trampling over someone just so they can have another location. Literally ruining the life of someone who had their whole life put into this place for what? To the couple/new owners- This is not your little bar. This is Rojia's little bar. You want the unaware public to think it's the same place by keeping her exact style and even font. I won't have that. I would like this review to make it clear that this establishment is not the same Little Bar we know and love. It's worse. Out of touch. And expensive now. Truly disappointed. Further edit: there were 5 negative reviews(or so) on here and now somehow they have all vanished. I don't know how they're managing to vanish genuine negative reviews, when the positive reviews are coming from their staff. I don't go to bars often, but when I do, this is exactly what I want: mellow, friendly, and uncomplicated. Gone are the days of overwhelming noise, blaring music, and $90 cocktails.
