Cool little dive bar owned by the couple who owns the 3 restaurants on the 3 corners of the intersection. Cool friendly service, but drinks were typical LA overpriced. Didn't try any food, but a good place to grab a drink with some friends for sure

This bar used to be more than a bar-- it was a welcoming community space, curated specifically by management, frequented by not only locals from the neighborhood, but many other regulars throughout the LA area that wanted a well poured drink, casual vibe, and maybe a game of darts or two. I spent many nights here coming alone, but leaving feeling more than welcomed not only by the former knowledgeable and caring staff behind the bar, but also by the large customer base she had grown by building rapport over the years. Unfortunately, under new ownership much of that has changed. Expecting much of the same, I was troubled to find that despite much of the place looking the same, it has unfortunately lost its charm and former comfort. The area for darts, the reason I first walked into this bar with friends some years ago and kept coming back, has been removed in favor of interestingly placed tables for extra seating, The bartenders, while generally friendly, seemed more interested in pouring drinks for friends and coworkers than building similar rapport with the community. Not to mention the higher cocktail prices now implemented for a much less bespoke card of options. I've also noticed that while the digital jukebox remains (another incentive brought in by former management and ownership), much of the song catalog is missing. What remains feels like it caters very specifically to a certain (not afraid to say it-- non-black) audience. Finally, while business is business, ownership is known to delete negative reviews on social media and the like. What used to be a space to either play your own music and have a good time, watch a game and chill after a long day with a bespoke cocktail made by staff intent on building relationships with the community, has now become what feels like a bit of a boys club and a generic shell of what it once was. If you're looking for a generic teetering on pretentious space you can find most anywhere in LA, this is your spot. If you're looking for the comfort of a community dive bar that at this point in the city is a needle in a haystack that used to exist in this space? Look elsewhere.

This newly revamped bar is a great place to hang out in the area while having walking access to restaurants. It is sure to be a great bar once the secret is out.

Her Little bar Bartender Vinny was great host and he was attentive and great service. This place is an amazing dive bar.

This is such a good dive bar, bartender Vinny was a great host. I will give this bar 5 out of 5. No food but the vibe is amazing. Local place in midtown.

Since I never watch that kind of 'stuff', that connection meant nothing to me. However, now that it's been sold to the purveyors of a successful Venice bar lounge, Roosterfish moved up quickly on our gaydar for a visit during PRIDE weekend. It was upbeat and loud but surprisingly not off-putting. That has a lot to do with the century-old Mediterranean olive trees in the massive open-air courtyard in the middle. Even wrapped in colorful fairy lights, the trees breathe life into the space even with a huge disco ball hanging from the canopy. The dance floor was fairly crowded and pulsating like crazy, but the surrounding tables weren't as coveted. There were plenty of bartenders during PRIDE, so there was no wait for drink orders. The Tequila Sunrises were on the high side at $20 given the plastic cups (Photo), but they gave us the requisite kick. There are rumors that Jamie and I may have been on the dance floor when the DJ was playing Erasure. I will neither confirm nor deny it. The host, Adam, was so welcoming and helpful throughout the evening, checking to make sure we were enjoying our food and drinks, even moving us to a different table since our original one was in a wind tunnel blowing up our dresses. I got two cocktails: 1) the special True Colors cocktail in celebration of Pride Month, with proceeds going to the LGBT Center! It had Tequila, Yuzu, Lychee, Passionfruit, topped with a Hibiscus Mezcal Float and a piece of Rainbow Sour Candy. It was refreshing, delicious, and absolutely gorgeous! 2) the Cosmopolitan: made with Grey Goose Vodka, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, and cranberry. It was pretty tasty, not exactly like a traditional Cosmo and had a bit of a bite to it, but good enough that I got two. My friend and I shared the guacamole which was a pretty decently sized portion and came with a big basket of chips. We also got the Weho Choco Tacos and they were delectable! It's a bit pricey with drinks ranging from $22-$26, but that's to be expected in Weho and especially on Sunset Boulevard. Just something to keep in mind. The crowd was also so nice! We made friends with the couple sitting next to us and watched the end of the NBA finals together on one of their phones. I also met some nice girls in the bathroom and we had a long conversation about the best clothes to pack for a trip to Europe. Everyone was there to have a good time and it showed!

During the day, people come in to work, enjoy coffee, and just hang out, which gives it a nice neighborhood vibe. I ordered an Angry Orchard Cider and my friend ordered one of their Espress-OR Martinis. It looked great but it was strong! If you are an espresso martini fan who likes this style of drink, you will probably enjoy it. There are metered spaces behind the bar and there is also residential street parking nearby if you pay attention to the posted signs. We easily found a place to sit on the shaded outdoor dining area, all the time people were going inside the adjacent dining and dancing area for one of the Abbey's famous drag shows. I ordered the guacamole bacon cheeseburger with fries and my guest had the Philly Cheesesteak. My burger was cooked perfectly and looked great. The fries were fair, nothing to write home about. My guest loved his Philly Cheesesteak and it brought memories of the last time he ordered one more than a decade earlier. It's only fair that I mention the conduct of one of thr employees who appears to be a host. There was an ethnic couple (probably middle eastern) siting at the table next to us, dining and enjoying their meal, when this employee approached them and singled them out because of their ethnicity. He fawned all over them, loudly, apparently trying to be welcoming, all the while addressing them as "you people" and "we are open to people like you dropping in for a gold time." While he clearly wanted to be nice, he came off as condescending and racists and was very annoying to my guest and me and people at another table who muttered "what an idiot." On the positive sign the middle eastern couple didn't appear to be annoyed but, still, that's not the way first time guests should be addressed. We dropped in on the drag show after lunch but all seats were taken so we decided not to stand in the corner and watch. Getting smart, especially a good seat means arriving about an hour before the show. Today's show began at 1:30 pm. There are nearby parking lots, pricy and neighborhood parking if one can tolerate a moderate walk. The Abbey is an ice place to go, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Dining is pretty good and their menu is not big. But they still have a nice variety of dishes.

Unfortunately, the bartender was rude and dismissive, so I chose not to leave a tip. I closed my tab immediately, signed the receipt, left the tip line blank, and kept both copies of the receipt. My Cash App card was originally charged $15 that night, but the following day the transaction changed to $16. I did not authorize an additional $1 tip or charge. It's only a dollar, but that isn't the point. Customers should be able to trust that the amount they authorize on a receipt is the amount they are actually charged. Between the bartender's attitude and the unexplained additional charge, this was a very disappointing experience. I've kept my receipts and will be disputing the difference if it isn't corrected.
