On our recent visit to Pocatello for this weekend's marathon, we ate at PV's for our pasta dinner the night before the race. It was a little challenging to find, as the signage outside reads Uncorked on Main Street, with a PV's in very small letters at the top - and no mention of pasta & vino. Not sure if the restaurant was recently renamed? The location was very nice, right in the heart of Pocatello's Old Town. The restaurant's interior was basic but clean and welcoming. Food was what I would call average. I ordered the large Caprese salad, which came with small slices of tomatoes and mozzarella. Not very large, but well seasoned and fresh. I ordered the pasta with steamed clams. The sauce was creamy, which I didn't expect from the menu description that only mentioned white wine. It was also not very hot. However, it too was well-seasoned and the clams were excellent. Service was not the fastest but very friendly. I would definitely give PV's another try on a return trip. read more

This is an enormous restaurant divided into two huge rooms. The AC wasn't working in the main room, so we were seated in the secondary one, which was very comfortable. Wine prices were more than reasonable, and the menu had a good choice of dishes. Hubby ordered Stuffed Chicken Parmigiana, which came with a side of spaghetti and a nice dinner salad. I had some problems with the chicken dish I ordered, which was missing the key ingredients that made me order it in the first place. I was going to keep it anyway, but the waitress, and then the manager, urged me to let them redo it. When it came back, it had the asparagus and prosciutto it was supposed to have, and was delicious, even though the spaghetti was still a bit overcooked, though not as much as the first time. The excellent service more than made up for the shortcomings experienced at the beginning. It's always appreciated when we're treated as valued guests. Because of this I've bumped up my rating from three to four stars. Every restaurant should be as caring as PV. read more

Food was great! I went with friends and we had the brie app, pizzas, and pasta dish. They were all delicious. My hat's off to the chef. The wine was also amazingly priced (at least by Pittsburgh standards). Overall a great experience. It was my favorite meal in Pocatello. read more

Food: Very good and generous portions. Clam pasta: the sauce was creamier than I expected and I wish it had a little more garlic. I loved the touch of fresh basil chopped on top and it had easily over a dozen clams in shells. Cajun chicken pasta: personally I would prefer it a little spicier, but for my boyfriend who ordered it it was a little too spicy. It also had mushrooms that we weren't expecting. But very creamy and I love the pasta that comes in it holds the sauce well. Service: We sat at the tables closer to main Street on the way out we realized there were a lot of tables close to the bar, we may have gotten better service if we sat there. The waitress only stopped by once after bringing our food and then we had to wait a while for the check. read more

Quaint little spot in old town. Nice ambiance. I love that they have live music some nights. The wine is deliciousness they offer test sizers on the beer. The shrimp dip is so good! We also ordered the antipasto and it was perfect. read more

Attended the Grand reopening tonght for dinner... The good : Love the new look! Had a pizza and was expecting a very small pizza since it was only 8.95. It was actually huge, great value! . Zesty pizza sauce, very unique. The bad: my pet peeve is waiting to be greeted at a restaurant. We stood there for three min before someone came to seat us. No eye contact from any staff until then. When we arrived, only four tables were occupied, so I had a bad first impression from the start. The "thin crust" is more like Roti than crust. And it's cut very strangely. The wine list is disappointing at best, all mass produced (cheap ) brands, and very limited very selection. The menu is hard to read, scattered across the page, dark font on dark background in places. Not designed by someone who's done this before. My hope is they make a few minor improvements and succeed with the new concept. read more

First things first. The meatball sliders were great and the waitress was a doll, because she hooked it up with some Calimochos that aren't on the menu - sure it's only red wine and coke but she got them right and that was appreciated. That's the only reason this dump gets a 2-star, because if it weren't for that I would have gone even lower. My GF's mother had made reservations one week prior to our arrival for a large table by the window, so when we arrived and saw a family sitting in our spots my GF's mom was pissed and wanted answers. It turned into musical chairs at that point since we went from the hostess, to some useless waiter dude who was obviously coasting the night away, to the manager, who basically bullshitted her with lies by saying that the other family had reserved the window table before she did, which was complete horse shit. The dude was lying his ass off. The reason the window table is a big deal is because there's a Christmas parade that strolls by on the main boardwalk and that table is prime for viewing. We were assed out and had to sit elsewhere. The guy was just trying to save face. The food did take forever to come out and one of my pet peeves is when appetizers come out at the same time as the main dish. I can probably go my whole life without ever coming back here again. Like I said in the beginning of this review - our waitress worked her ass off and hooked it up with some proper drinks, and the meatball sliders were great. Everything else blew. read more

This place was an unexpected treasure. On the outside, I was skeptical. Inside, I was surprised! The setting inside is very nice and relaxing, with great lighting and a bar. It's definitely the type of place to head to on a ladies night or weeknight date. Their portions are very large, and unexpectedly reasonably priced. We especially like their pizza. Their pizza is a thin crust with lots of flavor options. It's not enough to feed a family of 4, but still lots of food for a low price. It's great pizza for pick up on a weeknight. read more

Ok. 3 stars maybe leaning toward 4... This place gets little attention from the Pocatello folk but the Italian is pretty good. I like it, probably the best Italian food in Pocatello. read more

Beautiful little spot. Downtown Pocatello is a great place. Pv's is amazing. We eat here every chance we get and it's always an enjoyment. It's a family feel with the owners usually always there to make sure you are taken care of. They really know there stuff on wine. The spaghetti bolognese and stuffed portabella are 2 of my favs. There desserts are unmatched. read more

Wonderful food and atmosphere. They are locally owned and take care of their customers in the best of ways, with great food! It is also a really nice venue for parties, receptions or even baby showers and their catered food is amazing too. I would highly recommend the Stuffed Portabello Mushroom. So Good! read more

The baked brie appetizer tasted more musty than the building smelled. No by the bottle wine selections for a wine restaurant. So they have to charge you a higher price by the glass for the same wine. Adequate food. Would not recommend it to anybody. There are other restaurants in town serving similar food and wine that do a significantly better job. read more

We went to dinner here last for Valentine's Day. Overall I was not impressed with the food. The price was over the top for the lack of flavor (about $16 each dinner dish). My boyfriend ordered lasagna. He compared it to a reheated frozen Banquet dish, covered up with a heap (and by heap I mean 2 ladles full) of thick, distasteful red sauce. I ordered the pasta primavera. The menu said that it included artichokes, zucchini, red bell peppers, and sweet peas (sweet peas? kinda weird, but I can hang) dressed in [herbed?] white sauce. Sounds pretty appetizing, right? The sauce tasted like watered down Western Family white sauce, there was 2 artichoke hearts, 1 small slice of zuchinni. Also included surprise additions: dominated by shredded carrots and mushrooms. Interesting (and not appetizing) combination of veggies if you ask me. We decided to leave without finishing. I told the waitress when we were paying that the meals weren't very tasteful and I was especially thrown off by the carrots in my pasta. She responded, "Oh, you don't like the carrots in you pasta?... The chefs usually just thrown what veggies they have available in that dish". Classy. read more

I had a perfect, low-cost business lunch last winter just happening upon this place. Now we stopped in for dinner and it was very good. To the only short coming was the different pastas were slightly overcooked but the rest of the meal, and the service was great. read more

I love the food here. My favorite is the chicken scallopini, but I have never had anything that wasn't really tasty and well prepared. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I find it very dark and kind of creepy, despite nice looking tables and decor. Put in some lights, please! Edited to add that they have done a complete remodel and added a wine store as well as revamped the menu. I am so far impressed, and recommend that you give them a try! read more
