Yikes, what happened to the bread?! Where did the salsiccia go? Service was AMAZING as usual!

We ate here while traveling and stying at a nearby hotel. We looked at local restaurants and this one stood out, especially since it was so close to where we were staying. We were seated quickly and greeted by our amazing server Liv. Liv took great care of us and was so nice. Our food was amazing and the portions were generous. We started with the bread and cheese plate, which was fantastic and the perfect size for an appetizer. My meal came with my choice of soup or salad and I chose their crawfish bisque. It was really creamy and flavorful and had big pieces of crawfish in it. My Shrimp Alla Vodka was amazing. The shrimp were large and the sauce was really good. The restaurant isn't very big and is quite cozy. We definitely made the right choice for dinner. I recommend you try them out! read more

Our waitress couldn't have cared less if we were there. We sat for over fifteen minuets before she bothered to show up to take drink orders, then when ordering food- she took one food item and was ready to leave the table. Uhhhh there is more of us than just one person. Lasagna was soft and mushy, steak was under seasoned, spaghetti was ok. Just ok. Not sure how this place gets such rave reviews. read more

Highly recommend! The food was delicious and there's a large bar section you can sit in instead of the restaurant side. There's so many options to pick from, it was hard to land on an entree. The ambiance here is unique. The front door is kinda hidden because it's painted over. Our waiter was an extremely nice and professional gentleman would filled up our waters very frequently and made sure we were all very happy with our meals. The Salsiccia tasted really good and was the perfect meal to carb load for the marathon the next day. We'll definitely be coming back next time we're in Pocatello. read more

Too tired to dine out, but still hungry we ordered a takeout from Cafe Toscano. We can see them from our hotel room up on the hill and we have always had very good meals when we dined in. We called to see if they did take out at 5:52pm. They said "We take orders up until 6:00pm." We dodged that bullet. Luckily we knew what we wanted and it would be ready in 15 minutes. We ordered a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza and it was amazing. Lots of prime rib cut thinly on top of an Alfredo sauce. The crust was crispy and the pizza was 14 inches big. The veggies included caramelized onions, red and yellow bell pepper chunks, mushrooms, and parsley pieces. I can't think of anything to make it better and dining in the very relaxed atmosphere of my hotel room this night was perfect. OM Gosh...Cafe Tuscano is probably the best high end Italian restaurant we could have, in Idaho and possibly Nationwide. They got us right in, without a reservation, and the service is outstanding. Of course the food is absolutely delicious. It's really pricey though. For what I make as a disabled veteran, I can only go here once every couple of years. That is unfortunate . read more

Very nice table, and service. Wine, food, and no song. Still, it was really great, and we had mussels, halibut, crawfish bisque, wine, tiramasu. Had an interesting talk with someone at the next table, who had lived in Africa, so the ambiance was conducive to table to table conversation. Loved it overall. read more

We are staying in a hotel close by and wanted pasta since my husband and son are doing the Pocatello half marathon tomorrow. We spent a week in Italy this past spring so I picked an Italian wine to have. OMG! This is the best meal I've had since we visited Italy! So very good. And Katelin was an excellent server! Had a fantastic salad for lunch. It was the prime rib salad. The prim rib was seasoned perfectly. My waitress, Hannah, was fantastic and adjusted my meal to my liking. The crawfish bisque was delightful and the only saving factor of my meal. It very tasteful and had a little spicy kick to it. The rest of the meal was an experience I would rather not have. I ordered the saltimboca. The plate the meal was served on was about the size of a salad dish, way too small for the food that was presented. Unfortunately, the pork was over seasoned and just did not taste good. The side vegetables were barely cooked: I could have broken a tooth on the carrots. The squashes in the vegetable medley seemed to be the only part of the medley that was cooked. Go figure! I ate about one third of the meal. If that wasn't enough, I had a fruit fly constantly landing on the food and me. It just added to the displeasure of the meal. When I complained to,the waiter, probably a young college kid, he said, "In the Winter, they go away." What???? This implies you have them in all of the other seasons. Obviously, the waiter was not trained for customer relations. He tried to kill the fly slamming his hand on the table. He missed. There was no attempt to readdress my meal or experience. The food was great! Our waitress, Katelin was awful. We ordered drinks which took 20 minutes and we had to get up and ask for the drinks including water. After 30 minutes, we had to find her again to inquire about the salad. It took another 10 minutes until we got the salad and at that time we requested salt and pepper which she finally brought at the end of our meal. She delivered our pizza without plates and although we asked for the plates, she never brought us any. I don't know of a time that we haven't tipped a waitress until tonight. She seemed inconvenienced by having to wait on us. We watched two other tables, one who came in when we did and the other after get their food before us. Every time I'm in town Cafe Tuscano is a must go for me. I have yet to have a bad meal thus far and have been here roughly 4 times over the last year. The crawfish bisque is a must and overall one of the best bisque's I've had. The salads are always a really good option as they big and taste really good. They typically have a really good beer selection as well. The deserts although I've never gotten them look fantastic. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area. You will have tiny plastic cups for water and tiny paper plates for appetizers. Their prices are so high yet they serve you as if they are the old gas station they used to be. Food was cold. Ok, to say this place is good is an understatement... I'm on my way back from a trip and so dumbed that I wasn't able to eat here twice. I am so full right now, but I just had to write a review because I was so amazed by this place. First of all, the smell of the amazing food right when you walked in was amazing! I eat Italian food a lot and the first thing you should notice about a good spot is the smell. It should smell like you just walked into mom or grandmas house for dinner. We were greeted right away and everyone we came into contact with was so nice. Our fantastic servers name was Kelly. She was a joy to talk to right from the beginning. She not only told us about the dishes there, but she explained the lovely story about the restaurant. I seriously can not believe this place was attached to a gas station!!! It's not anymore, but I wish all places attached to a gas stations were this good. I walked into this place not even that hungry and when I tell you I finished everything....... I finished EVERYTHING! The pulled pork chili soup was sooo good and my buddy ordered the crawfish bisque that was equally amazing. The bread was very soft and it came with warm butter. One of my biggest issues with restaurants is that they always bring you cold hard butter. It's rare when they bring you warm/soft butter and it makes such a difference. Anyway, I ordered the Shrimp Aioli olio and that was so tasty. it does have a little kick so if you can't handle spicy you might want to ask them to get you something else. ( unless they can tone done the spice ) I can probably go on and on about this place, but I will let you try it for yourself. DO NOT PASS UP ON THIS GEM!!! read more

We ate lunch at Café Tuscano based on the yelp reviews and it was just okay. What we had definitely didn't live up to the reviews we read, but the other patrons around us had dishes that looked good. My wife had the crawfish bisque and it wasn't good. It had a heavy flour taste and was very thick. There might have 4 or 5 pieces of crawfish in the entire bowl. She also had a 1/2 of blue cheese chicken wrap. It can be best summed up as sometimes less is more. It needed to be assembled differently and with less blue cheese and bacon. The way it was put together, you ended up with the chicken, bacon, blue cheese and other ingredients as separate in each bite. When you did get a bite with everything, it was fantastic. Having less bacon and blue cheese, but spreading them more evenly would make the wrap a winning combination. I had the Tuscano house salad and it was one of the best salads I've had. The dressing and overall ingredients made it a salad to brag about. 1/2 of a meat ball sandwich that was huge. Everything about it was pretty good with the meatballs being the star. The bread it was on was over toasted and even with the sauce soaking into it was a challenge to eat. But the sauce, it was very good. Service was great! Our server was so pleasant and attentive, she is the type of person you want representing your company. Even though the bisque was a disappointment, we plan to return when we visit Pocatello and try other things. This is a place that presents high expectations and just needs a couple of tweaks and attention to detail to realize it. read more

We rolled into Pocatello around 9pm on our way back to L.A. from Glacier Park. Cafe Tuscano got good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. There we met Charles, our waiter, who I must say was one of the best waiters I've ever had. My daughter has allergies and he accommodated her needs with out question and with diligence. I've had good food here in the past but both food and service have really gone downhill. We had a large group but literally waited for an hour and a half for them to bring out salads. Nearly two hours before food came out that was not good. Overly salty, lukewarm food. Also didn't get several orders correct and then brought out dried up chicken for a salad they had messed up on. Manager was not competent and never apologized but made a comment about how he was supposed to be off his shift but now has to stay. Will never go there again read more

I've been coming here since they shared space with a Chevron station. That's gone now and, slowly over the past few years, the owner keeps renovating and expanding. The ambiance is very nice. Today I ordered the Salsiccia - a mixture of onion, peppers, in a light red marinara sauce with ground sausage and cheese filled tortellini. I liked it very much although I would have preferred less onion and a thicker sauce. (I will make my own version when I get back and use sliced Italian sausage vs. ground ) Service by Madaya was spot on with a great smile. Over the years it had been hit or miss, but the last several visits have been wonderful! My favorite dishes are the pork saltimbocca (sp?) and the Cobb Salad. I've also had the clams, flatbread, pizza and pastas which are all excellent. The service has always been some of the best in Pocatello and I've always had my food in front of me within no time at all. Really liked it. I heard a lot of good things about it, took me a while, but finally me and my buddy decided to try it. It is located at the end of town where there are not so many restaurants, so unless I was staying at the hotel nearby or visiting Portneuf Hospital there was not much need for me to stop there and the terrain is also unpleasantly uneven to the sight. Forgive me locals, but food felt more fresh and authentic than at the Buddy's and we enjoyed our time together. Our server was very attentive to our needs. Decor and all the statues was also pretty nice. Don't let me comment on famous Rodin's sculpture's posture ;). When it comes to the final bill is where you realize that value comes at a price and it is not the cheapest eatery in town, but almost everything after the covid year feels pricier than it should and if your visits are less frequent there's a way to keep it all under control. read more

Uhg It's really too bad this place is newly remodeled and feels like a 1980 mafia dive. Fake flowers, dark and goddy decor. Awful. We went for a family gathering, they were very friendly and tried hard to please. But the food was subpar and there was a big hair in the middle of my wrap which was completely disgusting.
