DO NOT GIVE CRYSTAL A DEPOSIT!!!! She tattooed me a few years ago and everything was fine. I messaged her a week ago asking for a cover up of the same tattoo. I sent her pictures of what I wanted and she said she could do it. We scheduled the appointment for Thursday, July 3 at 4:30. I sent her the deposit of $150 just like I did last time. I got to her shop at 4:25 and no one was there. I sent her a message and she said she was sorry, but she had to go out of town for a personal matter and that her assistant was supposed to message me earlier. She asked if she could call me in one hour, I said yes. She did not call me an hour later. So an hour and a half later I messaged her and told her I just wanted my deposit back. She responded to that message and said that she was planning on coming back into town and rescheduling everyone for Saturday and Sunday despite it being the holiday weekend. However, she did agree to refund my money and said that she would have her accountant Zelle it to me. Three days later, I messaged her because I had not received my refund. She did not respond. A day later, I told her if she did not give me my refund I was going to write this review and pursue any other methods of repayment that I could. Clearly I have not received my money back. I also spoke with another artist who said that my tattoo can't even be covered without being lasered to lighten it first. She is currently holding my deposit hostage, preventing me from moving forward with the laser tattoo removal and cover-up and I am not sure she will ever give it back. So unless you want to find out the hard way, I suggest you keep your money and find another artist. read more

This really is a hidden gem!! We planned to go to Inksomnia, but after a terrible experience, we have no plans to ever go back, awful customer service. We searched in the area and found Pur Ink right across the street, what a blessing. Pur Ink was amazing. All my mom wanted for her 50th birthday was a blue jay tattoo to honor her father, they let us walk in and completely accommodated us as walk-ins and were so friendly and kind. I believe he was the manager, but one man who was an artist and Elijah at the front desk was amazing working with my mom to get the size and design she wanted. They called in David for us who was incredible! My mom was so visibly nervous because it was her first tattoo and David really made her feel better. He listened to exactly what she wanted and really worked with her to give her what she wanted, he used a dark grey ink instead of black so her outline wouldn't be so harsh. I had a wave tattoo on my foot that I've wanted to improve for so long, he worked with me to help design how to make it better, drew on my foot and I'm in love with it!! His attention to detail is amazing. This is a wonderful tattoo shop, the customer service is amazing, work stations are incredibly clean and artists sanitize the entire station between customers. my mom said leaving that we're going to send my brother there, and David is certainly my new go-to artist for all my needs! I typically get my tattoos at another parlor but the piercings I felt were too expensive for a lobe piercing. Purs pricing is more what I expect for an ear piercing. I came a few weeks ago for the first time and the experience overall was good. Jeremy was nice and it was quick and painless. So far it seems to be healing good which is great as I've had a bad healing experience a few years ago. The only con I guess is I thought it was a little odd to pay ahead. I know paying a deposit for tattoos and then rest once finished but I guess for piercings it's different. Also I wish there was more variety in the earring selection. Update, since you "cannot" find a matthew h in your system maybe you can remember telling me that i couldnt bring in a picture ID so when i brought back my actual ID, you allowed me to be pierced and i sat and waited for the most antisocial receptionist who did nothing but draw on a tablet and had me wait an hour to get paperwork printed. I was taken to the first door and was greeted by an AA man with dreadlocks, hippie attire and rings and this man did not use a single tool except for a small piercing gun like the image i showed. Please look at the cameras and stop lying to your customers. I went to the location on Jones Bridge Road between alpharetta and johns creek. My piercing cost $20 and i signed a release form. If I could give them negative stars, I would. Do not give them your money. Crystal is terrible at keeping scheduled appointments. She double booked my husband on his first visit. Then we made an appointment together to get tattooed, and she was a no show with some lame excuse. She did offer me money off on my tattoo when she rescheduled us, so I decided to give her another chance. Then I booked an appointment for myself, my daughter and my son to get tattoos. My daughter and son were coming in from out of state, so made a special trip for this. I paid her $100 deposit for each person, so $300. Again, she was a no show and had some excuse about getting dates mixed up she was returning from a cruise. I refused to rebook with her because she is unreliable so I told her I wanted my deposit back. This was back in April of 2024 and it is now September 2024. She responded to my first couple of emails saying she would look into why I hadn't received my refund but has now ghosted me on my last few emails. Straight up bad business and thievery. This was at the Johns Creek location, which I learned has closed because she didn't pay her rent. She has now located to Buford. Buyer beware. I also see other reviews that had a similar experience of being ghosted. read more

If you are thinking about getting a piercing done i STRONGLY advise you to reconsider. I got my navel done back in June and they really screwed it up. They lost connection in the middle of the piercing and another piercer came in and took over. I've seen multiple other artists to get their opinion on my scar and they have all said the same thing. That is crooked, that it has no business being pierced that deep, that it was bound to be rejected, etc. I took it out after 4 days just because of the excruciating pain I was in (I have a very high pain tolerance and can take a lot). I couldn't sleep, I couldn't sit properly, even driving hurt. The top of the piercing was sinking back into my skin by the second day. I specifically asked before I had left the studio if it was going to keloid because I had a gut feeling that something was wrong and they assured me no. They never went over after care, they did not sterilize prior to the piercing and overall it was an unprofessional experience. I will insert pictures of what my scar looks like now. I recently got it redone properly at a differing shop and I felt no pain during or after. read more

After searching for a good tattoo artist in the area for months (my boyfriend and I are fairly new to Alpharetta and GA in general) we are so glad we finally found this hidden gem. The shop is clean and everyone was super helpful and down to earth. There are private rooms with curtains which I felt was a really neat touch as it creates a certain level of comfort during a generally uncomfortable experience for many. I received a partial sleeve tattoo from the owner, Crystal, before I moved to the West Coast. I get compliments all the time on how unique it is and how good it looks-- and it's not even finished!!! Crystal took so much time with me, she was uber patient and came up with a beautiful design to compliment my body. I have had 3 sessions already and can say that while painful, it healed without a hitch and the color pops nicely. While coming into the shop, I got to see Jeremy at work as well. Went to check out the shop for my first tattoo. I was greeted by the shop manager who told me they had an excellent artist available for a walk in. Proceeded to provide two ideas I had for my tattoo and explained my desires. She drew up a compilation of the two and it looked good on her tablet. Then printed a stencil and applied. Looked good. I guess things turned a little different as the tattooing proceeded. I ended up with something different than expected. Tipped well regardless as I thought maybe it was just because the tattoo was fresh. Figured the bleeding out from under the plastic wrap before I got home was normal? Again, my first tattoo. Reached out to her the next day explaining my desire for some touching up and adding some contrast and was told no problem once healed. Healing process obviously revealed some issues due ink bleeding out of my skin. Three days of a light coating periodically of one recommended item then unscented lotion, washing only with the recommended soap didn't do the trick. Once healed, as well as possible, I visited a few other local artists to get an opinion to be greeted with "who did that?" each time. As I didn't care to trash talk an establishment without giving them a chance to rectify the issue, I once again reached out to the person who tattooed me. I sent her an email with the concerns I had and provided images. She stated she reviewed the issue with the shop owner and provided me the shop owner's name and cell #. I reached out to the shop owner and received no reply whatsoever. read more

Jeremy, the piercing specialist, is amazing!!! He helped my daughter out with a tough situation. She had her ears newly pierced 3 months prior to our visit but we thought they had closed over since she had taken them out for several days. Jeremy assessed the situation and was able to work the earrings back through her ears, all the time comforting her in such a warm, nurturing way. About a week later, we returned because one of the earrings had sunk back in her ear. This time the owner helped to get it out and advised us to wait a month and pierce again. We had gone to a different tattoo parlor to get the original piercing but will return to Pur Ink the next time around! read more

A few years ago Crystal tattooed a water color elephant on my back. The colors are still vibrant. When I wanted a second water color tattoo I knew I had to go back to her. Absolutely amazing experience! Went here with my mom after a referral a couple weeks ago. We wished to get matching mother daughter tattoos and Crystal was phenomenal! I came in two weeks ago for a navel piercing. My friend got a tragus piercing. The experience in-shop was fine. I have had several piercings, I know how to do proper piercing aftercare. But after a few days, my belly button pain seemed to be getting worse and around the one-week mark it was quite swollen and red. I waited a few more days but finally couldn't stand it, the pain was so bad I knew something was wrong. I went back to Pur this past monday and according to the hours listed online, Pur's shop was open. I waited outside for half an hour. Nobody came to open the locked door. I called the shop 5 times and got no answer. So I drove to another tattoo parlor for them to check my piercing. The piercer was appalled. He said it was pierced way too high for the jewelry used and that the piercing was way too tight. I am grateful he carefully removed it for me, so my hole can now heal properly. Like I mentioned before, my friend also got her tragus done. Around the same time as my fiasco, the jewelry Pur used literally broke in her ear. Since Pur was closed when we went, she came with me to this other parlor. Thankfully, they replaced her jewelry. I reached out to Pur Ink on Instagram explaining the story of our bad experience. They read my message, and have ignored me. I am saying all of this not to bash on the shop but to warn others against coming here. read more

Jeremy pierced my tragus and was awesome. He told me when to breathe in and out. I almost passed out afterwards and he was extremely nice about it and got me water and food. He made the experience great. A week later my piercing was uncomfortably swollen and painful and Jeremy came in on his off day to help. Truly above and beyond customer service. However, the quality of jewelry that was used wasn't great. They also don't have a great selection of jewelry. I've been coming here for a few years for various ear piercings. I've been pierced by a few different artists, loved it and even recommended them to other people. Recently I went in (for piercings again) and it was a COMPLETELY different experience. The energy from some of the employees was distracted and not confidence inspiring. For the record I fully trust their main piercer Jeremy. But the manager told me I didn't have to bring a parents even though I'm underage and offered me, and those before and after me, discount piercings that Friday. He seems nice but very cocky and a little shady, he completely disregards the suggestions of his professional piercers. I'm no longer comfortable being pierced here, I don't want to spend money here, and I wouldn't recommend them anymore. read more

Came in for a 1:00 pm appointment and had high hopes as the reviews I'd seen had been pretty decent, but wound up waiting for over an hour for the artist to show up, who then proceeded to go eat in the back before meeting with me. By then it was well past 2:00, when we finally meet he had nothing prepared despite having emailed a sketch of what I had in mind a week before the appointment. I wait until 4:00 for him to come up with a stencil which when he presents it to me is half completed and drawn over clips it appears he got off the internet and not what I had wanted. We wind up going back and forth on the design and not being too pleased with the style I asked of there was someone else that would be better equipped for the style I was looking for at which point he became even more frustrated and defensive. Around this time his next appointment arrives so he hands me his tablet and tells me to make my own stencil so he can consult with his next clients who are also waiting. While waiting I could tell the other artists seemed sympathize for how long I'd been waiting one of whom said he could've completed my piece by now and gave me food because I'd been there so long. I wound up making my own stencil since he had not prepared one and waited until 6:00 for him to actually begin. During the session he started blinking rapidly and saying he couldn't see and when he tried to dip the needle into the ink was completely missing the ink, I'm not sure if he was tired or under the influence. I asked if he needed to take a break but he insisted he was fine while his line work become progressively more shaky and messy. Later he wound up leaving in the middle of the session twice to use the bathroom and then to dig in the trash for a machine he didn't want thrown out. Towards the end of the session he couldn't find a fine tipped needle he needed and began touching all of the packaged needles with contaminated gloves he'd been wearing to tattoo me and then didn't change them when he resumed. When I left I said it looked good because I had only looked at it in the mirror however when I got home and examined it I wanted to cry. The line work is shaky, messy and heavy. The piece wound up being a lot bigger, darker and heavier than I wanted. Today I had to leave work early in tears because I started to become feverish and my arm became extremely swollen and badly bruised looking. When I left I called the number he had on his business card to see if this was normal as it has never occurred with my previous tattoos. The number directed me to a different tattoo shop entirely where I told them the situation and they explained he had been fired because of incidents like this and that I could come in for them to examine it for infection. When I arrived they were shocked at the tattoo and the state of my arm and informed me that I had developed a hematoma which is not normal and that the work was extremely sloppy, uneven and messy. Now I will be having to have it fixed and cleaned up in a few weeks when it heals. Needless to say I won't be returning after this extremely upsetting ordeal. read more

Matt touched up 2 of my older tattoos and did an INCREDIBLE job. It was pretty bad before but he still managed to fix it. The cloud/plant tattoo is entirely done by him and I couldn't be happier with it. This place COMPLETELY screwed up my nipples. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. The girl with colored hair who pierced them seemed cool but one, did not clean my nipples with alcohol and TWO, pierced through the back of my areola and completely too far back. I have smaller nipples which she clearly marked where I wanted them and then completely missed where she marked. It was extremely painful, which it should not have been if she would have pierced the base of the nipple where she marked. Because she pierced through the areola, I have scars and blood came out of the tip of my nipples. Do NOT get piercings done here. read more

Please DON'T go here. Random teenagers are in the lobby watching tv with no mask DURING COVID! Not cool. I went to get a nose ring and paid $45 and was pierced 3 TIMES by a guy named Ashley. Messed me up. He ended up doing the piercing to high up my nostril. So not professional! Sadly, I left that day and ended up in Midtown at Studio 219 Ink! Omg that's the place to go. Studio 219 offer $10 basic piercing on Tuesday. They are limiting ppl in the building and having ppl stay in car until they are called to come in. A better process to safety and ALL the staff wear mask. Not only did I get my nose piercing done over for the 4th time but I ended up her 4 helix piercing bc the lady gave great CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Piercing was cheap due to an awesome $25 per single piercing sale, and I was in and out of the store in about 15 minutes--no time at all. My piercing also healed really quickly and looks great today with no problems whatsoever. Also Julia was so helpful when I had questions and walked me through the procedure when I was paying.
