On all of my visits, they require the patient to pay their higher Usual and Customary Fees as opposed to their contractually obligated in-network PPO fees. Refunds are made down the line to square the account but in the interim, the patient has forked over significantly higher dollar amounts. Why should the patients serve as their bank? I pushed back on this practice and was met with arrogance, smugness and general ugliness. The billing personnel clearly did not display any interest in understanding how the in-network PPO reimbursement worked. They even threatened to withhold treatment until I acquiesced to their higher fee payment request. It's a shameful way to treat patients and a black eye for such talented dentists and hygienists.

When I initially called, the office indicated that they could not accept new patients due to a backlog of appointments to catch-up due to COVID related delays. However, they took my name and contact information and indicated that they would call when an opening was available. I appreciated this since had been over six months since my last check-up and cleaning. I received a call later the same day asking if I could fill an opening from a canceled appointment the next day, which I accepted. I arrived for the appointment and was quickly brought into the office and worked with very personable reception staff to complete some paperwork and was promptly taken to back for my initial exam, annual x-rays and cleaning that I found to be quick and painless. Shortly thereafter, I met Dr. Patrick and he completed his exam. After 20 years with my previous dentist and only a few different hygienists, I found this a very easy transition. Dr. Patrick and his team were very professional and personable, and I found it to be a pleasant and positive initial experience.

The staff have always been very friendly once you are being worked on, but don't count on your appointment being on time. On one occasion I was sitting in a chair waiting for a cleaning and one dentist saw that I was there and for some reason insisted that I was their patient and removed me from the calendar of the other dentist. So I got to sit and wait for the dentist to finish with someone else rather than who I was scheduled to see. Today I was there 10 minutes early for my appointment, an appointment that they confirmed 4 times via text, so I know they knew the time. 20 minutes after the scheduled start of the cleaning, they let me know they were ready for me. I had already left 5 minutes prior. So if you want all the bells and whistles and don't care about a schedule, these folks are a great fit. Otherwise, use a dentist that actually respects your time.

Beyond the poor customer service, this place feels less like a dental practice and more like a dental mill -- one that seems far more interested in extracting money from your wallet than in providing quality care. Front desk staff are usually the first point of contact, so clear communication and professionalism really matter.
