Cafe style -you order at the counter and you pick up your own stuff at the counter What i love about this place is that its similar to asia. You can customize your own drink. And it really is zero sugar. I tried at a different cafe- and the result was not exactly zero sugar. Lady at the cashier was nice though not much service to be rated on. Food was good. Crispy chicken tenders hubby and i both liked it. Coleslaw was nice as wel even though the portion for that is small. Available cutlery was a spork and it was a little flimsy. Otherwise, place is nice and clean and i do like the exent i can customize my tea. Overall, we would definitely be back.

She suggested Kung fu chicken after seeing all the drink choices. We walked in and found a very modern counter service Cafe and were greeted by a nice lady at the counter. We placed our order. 5 piece tender with fries. 3 spicy 2 medium. I had the strawberry lemonade and my wife had oolong tea with milk cap 0 sugar. The drinks came, then the food. The drinks - in short delicious. Mine was sweet and full of flavor. And with the spicy chicken I had a second one. Hers, she loved it. Made her miss home. The chicken and fries. The chicken was nicely breaded and fried. Great pieces of white meat, the spicy definitely had a bite to it. And we also had the mango habinero dipping sauce. The fries crisp on the outside and tender inside. Tasted wonderful. And everything was so hot and fresh.

After our server recommended it, we did not hesitate to try it out. It was the best thing we ate that day. I ordered the mushroom burger with horseradish sauce. Hubby got the charred burger. Fries were crispy and fresh. Ambiance is casual, located in the south pointe mall. You can walk of your meal by checking out shops including Scheels with the iconic Ferris wheel inside.

Drinks were impeccable and food was impeccable. We ordered some cocktails. The young lady servicing us was polite and understanding. She came back with our drinks promptly and gave us time to peruse the menu Hubby got a burger with beercheese on the side with no buns. I got a fungi burger with onion rings on the side. One thing- sides should be equal whether its adult or kids' meal lol. I did want grapes for my sides But its ok. The drinks were wonderfully balanced. And delicious. The food - wonderfully executed My burger patty was charred on the outside and succulent on the inside. ( justice to rhe name of the restaurant) The mushrooms and Swiss cheese melted just right and the truffle aioli on it- perfect. I havent enjoyed a burger so much for a while. Thank you!!! Just a surprise that it was so empty on a Sunday night. Prompt service and delicious food. We will be back!!!

The food itself was delicious, I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of hashbrowns. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the salty sausage gravy pairing with the hash browns. We happened to be in the Lincoln area for an event, and he begged to visit the Hi-Way Diner again to relive those memories he cherishes. It was pretty early in the morning, so a breakfast stop did sound pretty appealing to me. We popped in and the interior is pretty cute, with vintage signs and items scattered throughout. The look of the building is a little worse for wear, I will say, with musty carpets, fluorescent lighting, and a faded smell of a building that has been standing a while (which this has) along with the delicious smells of the food cooking. Ignoring the smells and sights, we stood in line to get a table. It was a Sunday when we were there, so very busy obviously. We were seated at a booth, and perused the menu. Let me tell you right now now, you do NOT come here for health food. It's either very heavy meaty options, or sweet pancakes and waffles. Because of the aforementioned heaviness of the fare, my husband and I decided to split two entrees and share the sides. I chose the South Street Meatloaf, and it tasted just like my mom used to make, with a ketchupy brown sugar glaze. My better half chose the Chicken Fried Chicken, and it was ENORMOUS. For our sides, we had mashed potatoes and corn, and those were pretty standard - nothing to write home about. We packed most of our entrees and sides away to take home, because my husband said we had to try the pancakes too! He got the standard pancakes and doused them in butter and blueberry syrup. Can't go wrong there. I got the Magic Toast and chose the French Toast flavor. It was very well battered and came with some delicious syrup to top it with. Highly recommend trying anything from the Magic Toast menu. Hi-Way Diner is definitely a hole in the wall style eatery, but it's worth a stop in Lincoln if you're looking for a tasty breakfast at a pretty affordable price!

They also freshly make their onion rings and fries everyday too! Which I think is pretty neat. This location has it all. It was built back when they had play centers inside but now they no longer do which was kinda funny to see since I remember these places as a kid. The employees were friendly but they definitely needed a few more workers which was noticeable though they did well! There were signs everywhere explaining that they were hiring. So if you need a job... The food and service were exceptional. I definitely would recommend all the Runza locations including this one to anyone visiting or hasn't had a Runza in a long time. :)
