Finished my chicken bowl at home where I pulled out a long hair out of my mouth. Barf.

I've seen someone throw away a whole pan of white rice because some brown rice was mixed in and the woman couldn't eat it.

To be honest I was still eating too but I had four kids with me and they were finished so i wanted to get their food packed up so when we were done we could leave. My partner and the father of my children passed away suddenly 8 months ago and all we wanted to do was to have a nice lunch and do something that we all use to do together and our waiter sure ruined the day! Table side guac was good and the other staff members were pleasant as well, won't be returning.

There are a couple of notes on the front door--one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there's an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It's good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering. I ordered a "Create Your Own Combo" meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn't too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing--the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy. Overall, it's not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

This was the new restaurant of the week and a bookmark that I checked off. The place is obviously a…read morerepurposed restaurant because it was two dining rooms with a bar and a fire place in the smaller dining room. The colors were tame and not all the bright colors like some Mexican restaurants. The tables and chairs were out of place because they had a country look to them. My server was super friendly and very nice for a very young woman. I was served chips and salsa while waiting for my strawberry margarita. The chips were warm and fresh but not seasoned. The salsa looked horrible because it was a purée but to my surprise it was the most flavorful part of my lunch with a nice garlic flavor. The strawberry margarita was above average because it had booze in it and a deep strawberry flavor that screamed strawberry, thank you. With only my order in the kitchen my food came very quick, the place was empty. I ordered the combination plate with a first for me, chicken in Mexican food for some reason. I had a ground beef taco, chicken enchilada and al pastor tostada with rice/beans. Although the food was good it was Americanized, bland and not seasoned. All the meats were moist I must say. I got the impression that they were cooking for the elderly population in Muskego. Overall if authentic Mexican food is not what your looking for and tame Americanized is your preference than this is the place for you.

It has improved tremendously and the food is still really good. Give this place a chance if you have tried it in the past and we're disappointed. It's great to have a Mexican restaurant close to my family in Muskego. My brother eats there every day when my sister in law is traveling.

It was super loud as there was a fan blowing on the floor and they had the World Cup playing in the kitchen. We did not ask to move, however. The salsa and chips were good. That's always key to a restaurant. I ordered a raspberry blended margarita. It was very foamy and didn't taste 1 ounce of tequila in it. It tasted nonalcoholic. I did not like it. Having a good margaritas also is a main important thing at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered three à la carte tacos. The deep fried avocado, Al Pastor and steak. The avocado taco was strong in seasoning and actually tasted burnt. Couldn't eat it. As for the steak and Al pastor , those were very good. All in all, I don't think I'd be back because there's a lot of competition for Mexican restaurants. We did go 20 minutes out of our way to try this place and there's other places closer to us in Waukesha.

I ordered the los cabos (shrimp taco), riviera maya (talapia taco) with rice and beans. I also added lengua de res. All three tacos as well as the beans and rice were fantastic. Did I forget that the chips and salsa are good‍. Wish the salsa dish was bigger so I didn't have to break my chips to dip. The waitress we had was fantastic and made sure "without being on top of us" had cocktails and anything else we needed. And if you want a special treat and enjoy a great cocktail try the Maria Felix. Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.
