The super burrito looks super flat.
    Steven T.

Several people over the years have busted my chops for never eating here so I decided to go over and see what is so amazing about this place. I went through the drive through which was pretty quick. After looking over the menu I decided that the super burrito would be my first sampling at $4.19, not the meal. My first impression was that the super burrito looked super flat compared to the menu picture. The flour tortilla was fresh and my first bite was like eating a tube of paste, the texture was tortilla and mush in the middle that poured our as you got to the bottom. My super burrito was less than half the size of a Mexican food truck burrito and just about the same price, $5 from the average truck for the real deal. Well I don't get what people are talking about of how great this chain is because didn't experience it, maybe I'm just eating the real deal of all foods from all styles so I'm spoiled. At least now I can have a conversation with these people as to why I'm not a fan.

I love this place. Tacos always are filling and the potato ole(tater tots) are awesome. I have converted my kids from lesser taco places.

Hey, it's fast food Mexican, but it's fresh, has a good mix of options and a very friendly and professional staff.

I give this place five stars because we need more Taco John's in our city! Hopefully some more will be built around town in the future.

The fillings were all delicious, especially the cactus and rice was well seasoned. I was a bit disappointed that the burrito wasn't hand held when I ordered togo and was more enchilada style. I had salsa at home which went well but also would have liked some more sauce/salsa included on the side or in the burrito. Next time will be back to try the tacos

It's set up to order at the counter, they give you a number, and then bring out your drinks and food. When we arrived we were greeted by a super friendly staffer. Since it was our first time she explained the process, told us we could open up a tab, which allowed us to get drinks and guac while we decided on the rest of our order. Our drinks, a Margarita and Paloma were both very good. Generous pours, with interesting seasoned salt on the glasses. They had brought us a small complimentary basket of chips, with some Salsa. The Guacamole that we ordered came with another batch of warm chips. The Guac was was good (not great). We like it a bit chunkier, and it didn't taste "just made fresh". After a short wait, our food came out. We got a "Uno Dos Tres", with Empanada, Tamale, and Enchilada. Each of those items was very good. The favorite, Beef Empanada was larger than we are used to, deep fried?, with some guajillo cream that was delicious. The Carnitas was also very good too. It came it hot, very tender, and a good portion (took home leftovers). Throughout the entire meal, the staff/servers checked on us, got us additional napkins, and some waters. Very attentive for having counter ordering. With the exception of the Guac, the meal was excellent. Definitely come back again.

Just went there yesterday, 3/23/26, as it is one of my regular choices for good local Mexican food…read more I feel pretty certain they made some improvements to their food. First, the salsa and chips were improved. The salsa, both mild and medium, had a very fresh taste to them. I was impressed by the chunky medium salsa the most. Secondly, their accompanying chips were darker and thicker. They also had a distinct roasted corn flavor which went well with the salsa. Neither the salsa or the chips were drowned out by the other. The thicker chip stood up to the rigorous dipping I gave each one. Third, the refried beans they served with my chimichanga dinner were above the average pale looking serving. They were darker and nicely seasoned. I'd go back again just for them. I wish they served a little dish with these beans along with the salsa and chips. Fourth, only a one star demerit for their saggy bottom bench seats in my booth. Fifth, thank you for having hot water in the very clean Men's room for washing my hands.

Underwhelming. We…read morewere hopeful with some of the recent reviews, but this was just not a good visit. We walked in and a few tables were taken so we were hoping that was a good sign. There was music playing but a soccer match playing in the bar was plenty loud in the dining room and drown out the background music. The small house margarita starts at $8.50 and we both got one to see how they were. The size was larger than I thought it'd be at least. We also got a small basket of chips and a small cup of salsa. Not great but we still ate them because we were starving. We ordered tacos and they came out within about 5 minutes. The plates were cold, as well as the rice, and the beans were lukewarm. The tacos were hot at least. The barbacoa tacos ($16.99) were dry and didn't come with lime wedges, extra salsa, nothing. They were so dry that the single corn tortillas split pretty quickly. The pastor tacos ($16.49) weren't bad but no pineapple to be seen. The portions were okay but the food was not worth the price we paid. The weirdest part was when we got our check. None of the prices matched the menu and they also charged more for using a card. Don't appreciate the inaccurate prices and didn't see anything on the menu about being charged differently than what was posted. Our server seemed nice but it wasn't enough to make up for the weird space, lukewarm food, and overall disappointing experience. Will not go back.
