Upon entering, they have a nice outdoor area to eat with playful decor that makes you feel like you're in Mexico! We were seated immediately, but we must've just gotten there at the right time cause they were so packed! Our waitress brought over water and chips and salsa and gave us a few moments to review the menu. We ordered drinks, a steak quesadilla, and the rib eye tacos and fish tacos. Food came out quick and the staff were incredibly attentive. The steak quesadilla was yummy but I wish they had the sour cream and salsa or something on the side for it. It was only drizzled on top but since they were overlapping, it didn't feel like there was enough. But that's 10000% just personal preference! it was still very delicious! The cabo fish tacos were so yummy, we got them fried and they had a good crisp to is. But the star was the rib eye tacos. SO good! the green guacamole sauce that comes with it paired so well with the rib eye flavor. Hands down my favorite of the night! both orders of tacos also came with beans and rice. We definitely had leftovers for the next day! Highly recommend this location! Staff was incredible, parking is easy, food was great!

My favorite thing to get is the single enchilada with salsa verde, which is literally under $4. The chips and queso are also super tasty. My husband always goes with one of the burritos. I also love their kids menu since my son is always down for a bean burrito and some chips. Ordering online is super easy and it is always ready when they say it will be. I've dined there a few times and its definitely a casual spot. The only downside is that parking lot gets crazy tight, so I generally prefer parking on the street.

You order at the counter, where the staff is super friendly and helpful, and they bring your food right to your table -- a nice casual touch. I tried one of each taco -- Adobo-marinated chicken, steak, and pork -- topped with shredded lettuce, cilantro, and I chose the Del Diablo salsa. Each taco was moist, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. The salsa added a great kick without overpowering the flavors. A solid spot for fresh, satisfying tacos and relaxed vibes -- I'd definitely come back to try more!

I had an awesome spicy Margarita. Service was quick and cordial for the appetizers we ordered. By 8 pm it pretty much cleared out. The dining area is quite large and the establishment itself is visually appealing. I've eaten here before and their entrees are always fresh and delicious. Tonight was just for a couple quick bites. I really like this restaurant. The service and food is great.

A hostess seated us with menu's and our waitress came over quickly to take a drink order. She dropped off some chips and salsa with our waters. The menu begins with beverages of the adult kind and ends with dessert. They have a street food menu that is separate. The margaritas start at five dollars and go up to fifteen, frozen or on the rocks. They also have a variety of other mixed concoctions. The menu includes the expected tacos, taco salad, burrito and so on. In the back they have a 'pick and choose' section where you can get 2, 3 or 4 of the items listed for set prices. The interior is very nice. Having lived in Tucson, AZ for a couple of years, we've visited quite a few 'mom & pop' Mexican restaurants and the décor reminds us of those AZ establishments. For a restaurant that has been here about seven years (maybe more?) the interior is in good condition. Nice date ambiance. I chose the 'New Mexico' which is one chile relleno and one carnitas enchilada. My SO ordered queso beef enchiladas. The food was delivered to the table within minutes. This is one of those things that makes me go hmmmm. The food offerings are quick to assemble: grab a tortilla, fill with a scoop of meat, roll, pour over premade sauce, add the rice and beans, go. Everything prepared, just waiting to be served. The food quality shows this is how it is. While most of the cheese in the chile relleno was very gooey and stringy, it didn't quite reach the center where some of the cheese was still cold. Also, it tasted of old deep fryer oil. The pepper was spicy, no meat, very cheesy. The carnitas tasted burnt and was exceptionally dry. The salsa verde had a strong vinegar taste to me. My SO, who likes spicy food, found the enchiladas to be boring. The cheese sauce was the best part. The service and ambiance are excellent, the food prices good, and the food quality is OK. I don't think we'll be back but we enjoyed checking it out. If you enjoy other chain Mexican restaurants you will probably enjoy this one.

It was a quiet afternoon, so instead of feeling awkward, it turned into a really enjoyable visit. The staff had the match on, and before long we were all watching together. A couple of goals were scored while we were there, and everyone celebrated for a moment before getting back to work. It gave the restaurant a fun, relaxed atmosphere that you don't usually get. I ordered the Burrito Fajita, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. It was generously portioned, served hot, and had plenty of grilled chicken, peppers, and onions. The rice and beans on the side rounded everything out nicely. Nothing about the meal disappointed me. If I'm being fair, restaurants like El Tapatio have a lot of competition. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants around Rhode Island serving very similar menus, and the differences often come down to execution more than originality. That's not a knock on this place. It's simply the reality of the genre. The food here was solid, well prepared, and satisfying, even if there wasn't one particular dish that made me think, "I've never had anything like this before." Where El Tapatio really stood out was the service. Everyone was genuinely friendly without hovering over the table, our food came out quickly, and they made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was also spotless, which is something I always notice. Would I come back? Absolutely. Maybe it won't reinvent Mexican food, but it doesn't need to. Sometimes all you want is a clean restaurant, good service, a generous meal, and people who make you feel at home. On that front, El Tapatio delivered.

The pics speak for themselves I think. The drinks are huge and let me say they have a heavy pour there. They even let me tweak their spicy drink to make it a weird version of a Bloody Mary. the salsa and chips are complimentary, which I love. And both delicious. The chips are thin lightly salted and warm! Yes!!! I got the fajita. It was exactly what I was expecting and wanted. Nicely seasoned tender steak and chicken strips on slightly charred onions and peppers. If I had to complain here, it'd be I like a ton of onions and peppers. Their's is more meat heavy. Not really compliant though, am I right?! Everyone else enjoyed their meals and I have to say it's a ton of food. Not the cheapest place but I feel fair for what you get and yummy. With 7 boozy drinks, 4 entrees and couple extra "side items" ie. A horchata etc it came to about $50pp. It would've been 1/2 that without the boozy drinks for sure. Anyhoo.... Do I recommend? Absolutely! We will be back to eat and drink up another evening until our hearts content. In the meantime, enjoy your meals and... CHEERS!
