One of my favorite places for a date or to bring friends! I feel like I'm always talking about how much I love it here. The menu is small and yet there's always plenty of yummy things to try when I go, even as a picky eater. There are multiple vegetarian and even a vegan option or two. I always have to get the guac when I come here - it's the perfect amount of creaminess without too much onion. Their red salsa is a great slightly chunky - slightly juicy texture and has a bit of a kick. The vegan burrito bowl is my go-to as a vegetarian, and the street corn side as an app is elite! It is a little spicier these days since the recipe was updated from on the cob to off the cob (I much prefer off for ease of eating and sharing!) The Coconut Cartel margarita was creamy and smooth and went down *quick* haha. Others in my party loved the spicy Margarito, although they were out of the main spicy tequila but the servers offered substitute recommendations. I came with a very large work group today, and the servers were so patient and flexible when we asked for modifications from the menu. I even was able to order the queso dip with the chorizo on the side (yummy but very thick cheese dip!), and they were very attentive of my colleague's mushroom allergy and made sure she got dedicated dishes, even when we were all sharing apps. The churro donuts seem to have changed recipe and got mixed reviews - some thought they were dry, another says she Uber Eats just those regularly Sitting outside in the summer on the patio is nice. Tasty, interesting dishes with modern urban twists on Mexican recipes. Truly the only slight downside is that sometimes parking can be tricky in this area, but you can always find free street parking, it may just take you a little bit. We came here at 5 PM on a Friday night and had a very delicious dinner. The food was all very tasty and the margaritas were great. We were able to get seated quickly and had a great waiter. My only complaint is how loud it was. I know that makes me sound so old, but the music was loud enough that it made it hard to hear the person across the large circle table. Great food and service we even tried the grasshoppers. It was a different experience, but a fun memory to create. We tried the cauliflower, lobster, carnitas and barbacoa tacos. You definitely have to try the lobster tacos. We also had the chips with guacamole and salsa as well as the queso. They serve a ton of chips with the sauces, which is really nice. Xaco Taco was our pitstop before seeing a show at a local bar in Providence. The restaurant itself is very large, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoyed the cute hightop tables outside, but there must be some kind of wasp nest near the place because there were wasps flying over to us and like usual there was one that wouldn't leave me alone! :( For some reason wasps and bees love to fly around and bother me, im like some kind of bug magnet. We ended up putting one under a plastic cup so we could finish our food. (We let it go before we left). The margarita flight was very good, it came with three different margaritas with a couple different rims and flavors. We had fun tasting them all and got a nice buzz. The chips and guac were nice but unremarkable, and then there was the tacos. They were great but pretty spicy. At first I loved the flavor but as the spice built up I couldn't continue eating them. The least spicy was the fried shrimp taco, the other two were pretty hot. I'm not super great with spice but I can handle it usually. So long story short, the tacos were good but it could be helpful to have some kind of spice meter listed for those that are sensitive. But overall good food and good energy in this place. read more

I love Xaco taco. Their food is delicious, fresh and super flavorful. On this visit I stuck with water, but I usually pair tacos with a fruity marg and some chips and guac. It's all wonderful! Whether you are looking for a quick bite or want a night out and some good quality food, they offer that! The service is always great. They're attentive and helpful. They check in often too. Much appreciated. The restaurant is vibrant, fun and inviting. There is tons of seating! The only downsize is they charge more if you use a card over cash and it's street parking with meters. The vibe at Xaco Taco is so cute -- very metro, very mindful in its design. Honestly, the space alone makes it worth a visit. The food, I'd put at about a 3.5 out of 5. As someone who is very picky when it comes to tacos I am so ecstatic that we found this place. I've passed this place so many times and didn't bother going, they have a big parking lot, which is free and perfect. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the decor is what catches your eye first. I love how it brings culture out, I love it. Day of the dead and skeletons everywhere! So cool! We were greeted upon entry and seated at a high table right next to a mini suv old fashion van, I freaking love it, so cool! They had TVs pretty much everywhere and I noticed all the employees worked as a team and all seemed to be smiles and helpful. We had Nikki as our server, super attentive and sweet. We really enjoyed Nikki she's a great server and you can tell she enjoys her job and the atmosphere didn't seem to stress her. We got $2.00 tacos, they were so flavorful and stuffed. They aren't cheaply made at all, weren't stingy with the meat I love this. We also got margarita flights, which also had great taste and a great trio. When the bill came out I was shocked only 40 something dollars for 7 tacos and 2 margarita flights, excuse me? What a steal. Oh yes I'll be back! I want their tacos now! My new taco spot. Short summary: VERY good tacos, great atmosphere, but one major complaint! Please wear hair nets! We came on a Saturday for lunch and got in fairly quickly, we sat inside which was nicely decorated. Our server was nice, and we got the guacamole and the queso- both were yummy! The presentation for the queso was fun. I got the shrimp diablos taco (the best by far!) and the Baja fish, also great. I also got a side of beans, with a hair in it. I'm glad I ate the beans last, it turned me off the rest of my meal. You can see into the kitchen and no one is wearing hairnets, I think that's a huge miss as the food is wonderful, but hairs are not!! Please wear hairnets, it's for hygiene, not fashion. We've been coming to Xaco Taco, a funky street taco place with a fun vibe and great bar, for a few years. But summertime is when it really shines. The wall of window/doors are opened up to fantastic patio dining. The servers are happy and the margs are flowing. And the LOBSTER taco is in season!! I wait all year for these! What I like about the menu is that you can order tacos a la carte or as a platter. We did the lobster taco platter to split which gave us 2 tacos and a side of rice & beans. And then we each ordered a second type of taco. We also started with the shrimp and scallop ceviche- which looks smaller than it is. The tacos are more street taco size so keep that in mind when ordering. I'd say 3-4 if you're on the hungrier side. I love that all of the tacos have their unique toppings. The Al Pastor has pineapple, the fish has that fish slaw stuff (that sounds more gross than it is), the fried oyster has carrots. It's not the typical lettuce and cheese which some places just change the proteins. I highly recommend giving this place a tray, even if your ascared of bones that form a human body. read more

The vegan bowl was decent and I'm thankful they have vegan options. I don't know if I would come back. It had been many, many years since we'd visited here. Not sure why - just fell off our radar. The RI Food Fights Taco Mania competition brought us back, and, wow - are we glad it did! We arrived early at lunch hour to a rapidly filling place & found a comfy spot at the bar. It's such a fun, festive atmosphere in here - so perfect for a night out with friends! The friendly bartender quickly hooked us up with a delicious Pineapple Mint Agua Fresca & a fun, fantastic Margarita Flight. While we hadn't planned on a "liquid lunch" today, it was great to get to try a good sized taste of three popular margaritas. While they were each delicious and very well balanced, we agreed that the Blood Orange was our favorite. On to the food... We started off with a Queso Fundido. As one of us does not eat pork - we asked for it to be made sans chorizo - no problemo. This "vat o' cheese" appetizer is one of our favs, particularly when made with rajas poblanas & good tortillas. We absolutely love that the tortillas here are made freshly on site all day long, using GMO free corn. This truly sets Xaco apart from other taquerias in the area. On to the tacos... Shrimp Diablo, Baja Fish, El Chingon and Coliflor Frita were all unique & delicious. The dark horse, and our unexpected fav was that cauliflower taco - just an amazing explosion of flavor & texture! I'm sure I'm gonna catch a lot of flack for this review, my co-workers LOVE this place because it's got a cool vibe and has many vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options to pick from plus a full bar, delicious drinks, and outdoor seating, so we end up here by default when we get together as a group. I think the food here is average - there are definitely better Mexican restaurants in the nearby area. I think their sister location, Oz tacos & tequila in Lincoln is significantly better. The service is slow and in the dozen or so times I've been here, they have always magaged to forget something that someone had ordered - literally every time! You need to park behind Neck a knee the restaurant; there you can park for free. If you want a Latino experience with music this is the place for ya. I've been to Xaco Taco twice already and it never disappoints!!! Their delicious tacos have something to offer for meat lovers, vegetarians, pescatarians or vegans! Their mushroom tacos are incredible, and so are the zesty shrimp and fish tacos!! Their service is also extremely fast! Even on busy nights we were served shortly after ordering! Xaco Taco what a gem, I have passed by this restaurant multiple times and finally stopped in. I gave to say from the moment I walked thru the entrance it felt like I was being transformed to another place. The greeting, the decor was all beautiful organized. I loved the bike spelling good and the buggy van what a treat. The service was A1 our waitress Nikki was so nice, attentive and understanding when we mistakenly ordered something incorrect. I did take advantage of the $2 tacos deal and I also ordered the margarita flights. They have an atm machine for your convenience and a bar if you prefer. They also had T.V.s. Parking is easily accessible. You can dine outside or inside, we chose inside and for our first visit thought it was a great choice. It's a casual, chill vibe. When I lived on the east coast 25 years ago you could not find a taco to save your life. Now they have places like this! Wonderful $2 taco menu in a casual but elevated setting. Solid carnitas, barbacoa and chicken tinga. Deliciousness on homemade corn tortillas. We had a late lunch (3-5 pm) when $2 tacos were on the menu and boy was it also a cheap lunch. We arrived on a late afternoon on a very warm day, which happwned to coincide with their Happy Hour. Happy hour tacos were only $2 (hard to argue with that value), and I think they offered 4 types of tacos. The waiter was very attentive, took our drink orders for ice water and ice cold sangria. We sat just inside the restaurant, which was completely open to a large outside patio. I ordered three Happy Hour Tacos, which included: Chicken, Carnitas and Wild Mushroom. My co-diner eschewed the Happy Hour offerings and opted for the Lobster Taco and Shrimp Diablo Taco. The drinks arrived in about ten minutes and the tacos followed about ten minutes later. The Lobster and Shrimp Tacos were very good, better than the Happy Hour Tacos, which were good but not great. I thought the Chicken Taco was the best of the three. This a loud, trendy place, a cross between a bar scene and casual restaurant. I bet it's packed on Friday and Saturday nights! Overall we enjoyed our visit here, and would return. However, there are two other very good restaurants within 20 seconds of Xaco Taco, so there are some good choices to be found here. read more

This is a very good taco place, and if you go between 3-5pm you can get $2 tacos! I enjoyed two of these, one with beef and one with pork and pineapples. Both were very good. I also got the sweet corn side and was surprised to see it was a large corn on the cob coated in butter. Healthy? No! Delicious? Yes! The original margarita was good too. My only disappointment was the bar stool table seats are so narrow and short that it's hard to sit on them. And all of the glasses at my table had stains on them. Yes I looked at them all trying to find one I could put water in and none of them were truly clean. So the food is great but the environment could use a bit of an upgrade. read more
