This time, while my wife ordered the chicken fajitas, I went with the Mariachi Burger on a regular's recommendation. I know--a burger at a Mexican place? But it was amazing! Two thin patties, perfectly cooked with a great smoky charbroil flavor. If you're not in the mood for the usual menu, the Mariachi Burger is a must-try! I got the 3 combo, which made for excellent leftovers the next day. + They serve you free chips and salsa as soon as you sit down and you're looking through the menu + Something I've never seen before out here: there's a fresh guacamole making cart! Today while in East Providence we searched Yelp for a Mexican restaurant. Coming across El Mariachi we decided to try it out. They'd just opened for lunch and other than the Mexican style music playing it was very quiet. We were offered a nice booth. The service was great and pleasant. Our food arrived quickly and looked very appetizing. I enjoyed how the refried beans were served in a small tortilla bowl a nice little touch to the plating. We both enjoyed our meal and dessert. One of the best COVID takeout dishes yet! We started with fresh warm chips and salsa (always a good start) which were still warm and delicious. I enjoyed my first drink to go with an amazing jalapeño margarita! Sooo good!!! For my main dish I ordered Pollo En Mole. I have found one good way to test the authenticity of a Mexican restaurant is to try their mole. This one nailed it with the perfect taste of peanuts, chocolate, and chili peppers (other secret spices in there as well I am sure. I was there on May 5 and sat in the bar area. I've always enjoyed being there but was disappointed my last visit. A customer came into the bar area holding a small dog. This could not have been a service animal as it was allowed to roam around the bar area and several different people were petting and interacting with the dog. If this was a service animal it would have stayed by the person that it was serving. Also service animals are not to interact with strangers and are trained not to roam about. I love animals, all types but there is a place and time for the family pet to be out in public. It's going to take me time some time to think about going back. read more

Finally, it's open! We had gone to the Seekonk location once when it was still attached to the Ramada and we enjoyed it so we had been waiting patiently for this location to open. So glad it's standalone - we always thought it was a strange setup at the hotel. I had been inside this building so had no idea what it looked like previously, but they did a beautiful job with what it is now. The parking can be tight if it gets packed but we were able score a spot. They start you off with chips and salsa and don't worry, they refill promptly if you finish - try not to fill up b/c there's plenty more food to come. We started with the Fiesta sampler (nachos, mini cheese quesadillas, mini flautas, mini taquitos and wings). Next time, we will go with the table side guac bc the sampler was super filling - but no regrets! I got the Pollo a La Crema and my bf got the Loco Burrito. Wow - everything was delicious! I was on the fence with getting my dish but our server insisted and I'm glad he did! Super tasty and filling. My bf enjoyed his burrito as well - said the steak was seasoned nicely. The sauce especially was amazing and had lots of good flavors. Portion size is huge. All items were around 9-11$. Didn't try any cocktails but seemed liKe they had a good variety there as well. I have a very specific expectations when it comes to Mexican/tacos since that is the majority of my diet lol. My friend had been telling me to try this place for a while so I decided to check it out with my husband. What I liked: Family one business, staff was very pleasant and friendly. Good chips and salsa. We did not order guacamole, however some came with my dish and I still had some leftover chips. The guacamole was delicious and I would definitely do an order if I came back. Did not try any margaritas or alcoholic beverages so I cannot speak to that. What did not hit the mark for me: I like my rice really nice and light and fluffy, this rice was probably a six out of 10. They put the refried beans in a little taco shell which makes it a little bit harder to eat because a lot of the beans soak into the shell. My husband also felt like the beans did not have very good flavor at all. He said his steak dish was OK, the steak was cooked well just didn't feel like there was a lot of flavor to the toppings. Sitting down, we were greeted with warm chips with salsa. Salsa had a little kick but, not too much. Also, the place was busy yet, not packed. Nice and relaxing. The decor was bright, cheery and welcoming. Within minutes Julio was at our table ready to take orders and questions. He was very attentive, sweet and all smiles. My s/o and I started with a pineapple juice each and the guacamole made at your table. Have been to lots of mexican restaurants and this is only the second one that offered that. It's a few dollars extra than just an order of guac but, very worth it. We got the Mariachi #3 to share. (Surprisingly huge portion) We chose a chicken chimichanga, a chicken enchilada with mole sauce and a pork tamale with their special red sauce. The red sauce was a bit spicy for my s/o but, he's not great with anything spicy at all. So, if you have a delicate pallet, I recommend asking for their red sauce on the side. We both loved the chimi and the enchilada. I'm picky about my mole sauce and this wasn't the *best* I ever had but, still very good. Not overly sweet like majority of restaurants. My s/o was more partial to the chimi but, everything was devoured. Being our first visit, we both wanted to try the flan. As you can see by the photo, we loved it so much, only half got into the picture. Creamy texture, rich flavor and not too sweet. Perfect end to the meal. The lack of one star is based on small things. The rice and beans were pretty meh. I liked the presentation of the refried beans though. The chicken in the enchilada was a tad dry but, sauce made up for it. We were asked if we would like sour cream and guac with our meal, which sounded like it was included if we wanted. They actually charge for both ,which was just an annoying surprise since we didn't really touch either. Lastly, a mexican restaurant should have a mole sauce nailed. Just my opinion. Over all, highly recommend if you're looking for some good mexican food. We will certainly be going back. Especially, since as we were leaving, a band started playing live mariachi music in the next room. A good meal, great prices, awesome service and a fun experience. What's not to like? read more

I've said this before and I'll say it again and again. If you want amazing food in a great atmosphere, you have to go here. Thursday nights the Mariachi band plays all the favorites. People were requesting songs like Hotel California, Jingle Bells and a bunch more and guess what, every song requested was played and very good. Awesome musicians. I had my usual Green Chile Soup with a combo 3. That was Rice, Charro Beans, Mexican salad, Ground Beef Chimichanga, Shredded Chicken Enchilada and a Shredded Pork Enchilada. Washed it all down with a great Raspberry Iced Tea. I've never been dissatisfied eating here. If you haven't been, you better get there. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more
