I've been warned that Rhode Island doesn't have good Mexican food, but I can't help but try as someone that grew up in San Diego. Came on a late weeknight and was pleasantly surprised by the birria. It definitely wasn't the best but it did meet my expectations. The service was great and interior was clean with plenty of seating. I do miss the salsa bars and free hot carrots, but you can't have everything now can you? I'll be back when the craving returns, but to be honest the other meat didn't look all too great. read more

We told 3 people keep guacamole seperate. They clearly dont care if they kill someone. Was told the guacamole was seperate but it was touching everything in the box. Order casaquila will guacamole on the side was very clear about food allergies. This is why speaking and understanding English it can be life or death. I will be calling board of health. Authentic Mexican food, tasty enchiladas. The portions were large. I didn't love the rice and beans but my enchiladas were good and loaded with toppings. There are booths to eat in the restaurant but it seems like the majority of their business is takeout. I would definitely order from here again. Solid Mexican foods. Taco, burrito, bowl. Not trying to 'fancy' it up. The menu is on boards above the prep area. Place your order on the left by stating your intention (tacos? burrito? etc.). In a fashion similar to another burrito locations, a staff member will 'build' you order from the items available in metal containers over warming or cooling trays. Think 'subway' style if you will. We grabbed an order to-go, but there are plenty of booth seats available inside, and a couple small bistro style seats out front. They play Mexican style music inside. Very festive. No table service. Bus your table when done. Prices are good. My burrito was stuffed and I enjoyed it's simplicity. Make it as basic or complex as you like. They have lots of choices. read more

This is the 2nd time I dined at this restaurant and today was the last. Here is why. This restaurant is always packed. They get a lot of online orders and get backed up. Which is fine. However, they do not have a good assembly line to mitigate the crowd of people waiting for pick up in a timely manner. To make matters worse, the people in the main assembly line barely speak English so you will find yourself repeating yourself ALOT just to get your order taken. My husband is Hispanic and even when he spoke Spanish, they had a hard time hearing - odd. To be fair, the food has always been fresh and the crew working on the grill or cooking work so hard. However, the customer service severely lacks here. No hellos, goodbyes, thank yous, NADA. You'd be lucky if they acknowledged you between the sea of irritated people. Today's order was : A quesadilla, 3 tacos, and a bacon jalapeño fry. We were in line for at least 15 mins just to get our main entree. We then paid, and the older Hispanic lady was seemingly nice, but again could not understand us. We grabbed our food and waited at the table and started eating, hoping that they'll deliver our fries like they did our previous visit. But no. I got up to go ask about an update on the fries and she just stared at me all bug eyed and then looked at the cooking line and was "asking" about the fries. Basically saying it out loud acting like she was checking up on my order. She didn't acknowledge me or give me any solution on the matter so I gave up and went back to my seat to finish my half eaten food before it gets any colder. What started off as a nice and quick dinner outing to catch up on the day with my husband, quickly became a bad evening. After we were done, my husband went up this time and spoke to her in Spanish that he wanted a refund as we were done eating and full. And honestly what are we going to do with soggy loaded fries as leftovers? She ignored him the first time and when approached again, she said she will grab a "manager" (one of the cooks) and he instructed her to just take out cash and refund us. This establishment has such potential, but their lack of customer service is evident as there is a group of upset people every time I've gone, myself included. Our first trip wasn't as bad.. and I try to be understanding to a certain point when places are busy. I hope they read this review and take it to heart and get some workers in the frontline that is more fluent in English that can keep up with the demand and offer better service in general. I myself will not be returning, but hope to see an update in the future. read more

If they had a chain of restaurants, they would bury Chipotle and Moe's. The Kingston fire burrito and the Nacho bowl could definitely feed a family. The burrito is stuffed with rice, meat, beans, sauce. Added bonus, forget the soda and get the guava drink. This is a no frills place which does a lot of takeout business but besides the food being great, the price is a lot more reasonable than the upscale Mexican restaurants nearby. read more

I've been struggling to find a place that makes a plain bean and rice burrito the way I like it. A lot of places are just bland or don't take care on the small details. Caliente is finally the answer to my prayers! I have only gotten delivery from here. The California burrito is usually what I get and I love that the guacamole is included. Definitely coming back to this place! For one, there's always mouth-watering aromas emanating from this little strip mall taqueria; for another, there's always a line of customers waiting for their orders. Good signs - so we gave it a try one Friday night and, yes, worth it. My daughter had a trio of birria tacos (not on their printed menu - but ask for it, they have it!) and she was selfless enough to let Daddy have a bite (big bite) and ... oh wow ... going back to get my own next time! I had their fajita plate and it was a generous helping of corn tortillas, sliced beef, rice & beans, avocado, pico de gallo, yeah, all the trimmings and more that you need. My wife had their avocado salad with fish taco chunks and the fish was well-seasoned and tasty. They appear to be take-out only these days (although there are some tables and chairs inside but looked to be not in use), so to avoid waiting in line, I suggest calling your order in (or on-line) as that works very well. read more

Tried this place loved it started to come quite often since I lived right down the street. The food is good and the ingredients are fresh. The reason I'm giving this only 3 stars is because the last few times I've ordered either online or on online and had it delivered my orders were way wrong. Online it gives you options for things to get on your meal so I checked off a few boxes of the things I wanted and then I wanted extra of certain things. So I wrote what I wanted extra in the box they give you to write. So I asked for cilantro extra jalapeños red onions and extra sour cream. I went to go pick it up took it home and that's basically the only things I got extra jalapeños red onions and sour cream and carnitas. There was no salsa no sauce no guacamole no corn salsa. All the boxes I checked nothing of those boxes was on my meal. So I was just left with chips carnitas cilantro and red onions. Basically dry with no flavor. I was so disappointed I just ended up throwing it away. Then there was another time I ordered online when they had delivery.. same issue they just put on the basic things but not the extra things I asked for. Like I said great food fresh ingredients but I'm just really disappointed and haven't really felt like going back. I think the best luck you will have with this place is if you actually go in and pick what you want. read more
