Joe the Manager said that he did not have it but he will look into getting it since I needed. I am considered on of the long term customers. Then one day I returned to the store and vitamin C was on the shelf. It was there ever since then. This is the kind of attention that both Joe and Harry afford their customers. I have been a customer for over 50 years and plan on being one for another 50 years God's willing. The prices compared to many other places are amazing. Whenever I am in a Mall or anywhere for that matter, I check out health foods prices and Evergreen Natural Foods on St.Clair ave W are comparably the most affordable.

I just went in to get some oil of oregano for a cold that just won't quit and was very pleased to see that they have a gigantic selection of organic groceries and (more importantly) a TON of dairy alternatives. It's located in the Seaton Village neighbourhood of Bloor St. West (on a quiet residential street), which is walking distance from Bathurst subway station on the Bloor line. From Karma Food Co-op's website: "In 1972, a group of Torontonians founded a food store for a community of actively participating members who felt a connection to the food they ate and the people who grew it. Together, they would be able to exercise political and economic control over their food and help to build a more win-win food system." Upon entry, there is a members' room on one side, and a display of ready-to-eat baked goods and samosa for sale. The grocery store offers various fresh produce and products (many are eco-friendly, organic, locally sourced or grown, and/or carry the fair trade certification label). Grocery selection includes produce, bread, grains, bulk nuts and spices, everyday household and cleaning items - all the daily essentials. There is a large chalkboard listing the current and upcoming events such as participation in Jane's Walk and Doors Open, plant sale, plant swap, and more. Sometimes they hold workshops as well (most are geared towards environmentally friendly and healthy living), e.g. DIY Fair Trade Body Scrubs Workshop, DIY Natural & Effective Bug Spray Workshop, Vegetarian Onigiri Workshop, etc. The full list of events and workshops can be found on their website. I loved their bakery section and purchased two of their gorgeous looking sourdough bread. The bread tasted so good! And it's great with my avocado and fried pastured egg toast. It's also tasty with my grilled cheese sandwiches! I am always on the lookout for traditional, authentic sourdough bread and was happy to see the ingredients listed on the plastic wrapper: Filtered water, Untreated whole wheat flour, Natural Levain starter, Sea salt. I asked a worker if Summerhill Market baked their bread in-house and they said they get it from Epi Bakehouse. I loved the taste of this sourdough bread so maybe I should write a review for them too!
