It took me several months to finally decide that this practice was probably the best one, going by the various dental websites for the area. A tentative initial phone call, to ask if they were accepting new NHS patients, went extremely well and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. This resulted in my husband and I making an appointment and going along to have a check up a couple of days ago. The first impression of the place was good; the waiting area is large and comfortable, nicely carpeted with pleasant soft seating and attractive pictures on the walls. We were both more than delighted to find we were registered with Anthony Bannon as he could not have been nicer what a friendly, gentle and thoroughly professional dentist. He put us both entirely at our ease and (when our mouths weren't wide open!) we had a good chat, not only about our teeth but about our move to Kilmarnock too. While I was waiting for my husband on the landing, I saw a couple of the other dentists welcoming their patients, which included young school children, and they were also very warm and welcoming. It's probably obvious by now that we were extremely pleased with our choice of dentist and, even after only one appointment, I would not hesitate to recommend this dental practice to anyone.

From the grand old…read moreage of fourwhen waiting to see the 'dentist' I heard a little boy totally lose the plot, and concluded that dentists were something to be 'afraid, very afraid' of. Until I was fortunate enough to find Breeze. I am one of the unfortunate portion of the population that have poor quality (not for the lack of taking care of them) teeth (unlike my very jammy husband, who, every 6 months gets laughed out of his dental surgeryseriously!) and have had everything from a simple filling to RCT (root canal treatment). From the greeting when you open their door to the caring treatment from the nurses and dentists, I have to say their name precedes them. Although I may not ever 'look forward' to visiting my dentist, I have to say that attending my 6 monthly check up doesn't phase me at all now, because I know whatever I will need sorted in the future, the guys at Breeze will sort it with care! The door at the ramp is locked from the inside so every1 has to get their prams up the stairs at the main entrance to get the health visitor to unlock the door at the ramp to get out.

Ayr Hospital A& E can be very busy and sometimes the staff can be a little 'occupied'. Doctors are very good. Paramedics are exceptional. Very over run now in wards with beds being scarce. There is a cafe on entrance and shop which are run by the WRVS and are value for money but if you are staying in on the first floor for staff and patients that is better for food value and taste, where hot meals are served.

We arrived at the accident and emercency department during the night with my father and i was impressed by how quickly we were seen and how upbeat the staff were. The service he received that night was outstanding and has been everytime i have been there. Also due to his illness he was kept on a ward for a few days and the care he received there was also outstanding. Also at the hospital they have a small shop and snack bar which is completly run by volunteers. The prices are great especially for the snack bar and everyone is so nice and helpful and they are doing it without getting paid

My gran was in ward 2b of Crosshouse hospital with a broken hip. Although the hip was healing fine gran had other complications which they seemed ill-equipped to deal with. We found the staff to be uncaring, unprofessional, uninterested and downright unsympathetic to my grans needs. If you asked for help with something they were too busy, but they seemed to have time to congregate and talk about what they were doing at the weekend. My gran was very poorly and did not receive the care she deserved, she has since sadly died. I had a kind of rosy picture of what nursing was like but the nurses in that ward seemed just to be pen pushers, too busy with paperwork and not enough time looking after the sick. I found the staff very obnoxious, the nurses and the auxiliaries, with one nurse in particular called Kathryn who seemed full of her own importance and would give incorrect information on the phone saying things like my gran had a good night, is fine this morning etc. but when my mum went in she found that gran had had the opposite kind of night. It is just so unacceptable that relatives are told this rubbish and totally unacceptable to treat patients in this way. I am so sad at my gran's treatment in ward 2b. it has been a terrible time for our family that my grans last days were so awful for her.

The reception desk is accessible either by stairs or a ramp and is situated just inside the main door, on the right, and the receptionists are friendly and helpful. The modern building is light and airy with an unusual triangular open-plan waiting area with a high glass roof. Cushions would be nice on the wooden seats but that's just a small point and not worth taking off one of the five stars. I've now seen a nurse and one of the doctors and liked both of them straightaway; they both inspired confidence and were very pleasant. There's a car park immediately to the left of the building or, if that's full, there are metered spaces on the main road.
