Pretty solid gym overall, but there are definitely some things that could be improved. The biggest…read moreissue for me is the layout. It's basically one large open space where everything is mixed together--treadmills, weightlifting, and machines all in the same area. There are a couple of smaller rooms off to the side, but for the most part, about 95% of the gym is just one big open room with equipment stacked everywhere. It can honestly feel a little overwhelming. When you look around, it feels like a zoo at times with a huge number of people bouncing from one machine to the next. That said, I didn't really have an issue waiting for machines, even when it was busy--it's just crowded almost all the time. On the positive side, they do offer a lot of amenities: a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and showers. I used the steam room and showers, which were nice, but keep in mind you need to bring your own towel and your own lock for the wall lockers. A day pass is $10, which isn't bad at all for what you get. Parking was pretty easy, and they also have a protein bar along with premade healthy meals available for purchase, which is convenient. Overall, it's a decent facility with good amenities and value, but the constant crowd and open layout make it feel more chaotic than relaxing.

The pool deck screens are covered with yuck, flying bugs in the handicap shower, today paper and old bandaids on the cement. Water was cloudy last Monday and Tuesday pool was closed. I have shared pictures with main office, and been told they are working on it. 40-50 folks work out in the pool every morning but staff acts like we don't work out in the gym so we are just a bunch of old people. Shouldn't take 3 weeks to clean pool grates, and kill bugs. Dont look at the window sills by the equipment facing the pool. Brown sweat is gross.

The Iron Office is nothing like that. this place has a different energy entirely. serious equipment, serious people, but zero intimidation factor. everyone I've encountered here has been focused and respectful and nobody makes you feel like you don't belong. the equipment selection is legit. if you actually want to lift and not just use machines, this is your spot. free weights, barbells, the kind of setup that serious lifters actually want. open 24 hours which I use more than I expected. late night sessions after work are my thing now and not having to think about closing time is huge. William comes up in a lot of reviews and for good reason. knowledgeable, encouraging without being pushy, and clearly invested in the people who train here. that kind of community doesn't happen by accident. I've been going for several months and the thought of going back to a Planet Fitness or LA Fitness genuinely doesn't appeal to me anymore. The Iron Office just hits different. if you're serious about your training or you want to get serious, this is the gym in Fresno to be at.

After moving closer to the Nees location, we started coming here regularly and were honestly shocked by the difference. Compared to the other locations, this one feels neglected. Especially during the summer, it is so uncomfortably hot inside. With temperatures being 105+ degrees lately, the A/C should absolutely be running, fans should be going, and it should not feel as muggy and stuffy as it does. The other locations don't feel this way at all. On top of that, there are times it smells unpleasant and overall just looks like it's not cleaned or maintained to the same standard. I have noticed a cleaning crew more recently, which is appreciated, but for a private gym (especially one that has won "Best Fitness Center" four years in a row) I expected much better, particularly when the other locations are so nice and well-kept. This Nees location doesn't even compare. That being said, there are definitely positives. I love the equipment selection, it's never overcrowded, and the trainers/staff have always been very friendly and helpful. I just wish this location received the same level of care as the others because it has so much potential.
