We originally signed up at a different location and absolutely loved it, which is why this review is so disappointing to write. After moving closer to the Nees location, we started coming here regularly and were honestly shocked by the difference. Compared to the other locations, this one feels neglected. Especially during the summer, it is so uncomfortably hot inside. With temperatures being 105+ degrees lately, the A/C should absolutely be running, fans should be going, and it should not feel as muggy and stuffy as it does. The other locations don't feel this way at all. On top of that, there are times it smells unpleasant and overall just looks like it's not cleaned or maintained to the same standard. I have noticed a cleaning crew more recently, which is appreciated, but for a private gym (especially one that has won "Best Fitness Center" four years in a row) I expected much better, particularly when the other locations are so nice and well-kept. This Nees location doesn't even compare. That being said, there are definitely positives. I love the equipment selection, it's never overcrowded, and the trainers/staff have always been very friendly and helpful. I just wish this location received the same level of care as the others because it has so much potential. read more

This is a really nice weightlifting gym in northern Fresno. If you are focused on powerlifting or olympic lifting, you will find basically every piece of equipment you could ever need for both your main workout(s) and your accessory work. They have numerous lifting platforms in different shapes and sizes, as well as different types of squat and bench racks. There's multiple types or barbells, and bumper/metal plates in both lbs and kilos, including smaller denomination plates. There's also tons of accessory machines, a GHD, and even some cardio machines for warming up. There's also a large open area for sled pushes, sprints, etc. This is one of the most comprehensive gyms I have ever been to in terms of range of equipment, and if you can't find what you need to complete your workout here, it might not exits. Two minor criticisms: the first is that the bathroom definitely had some dirty areas and some things that were out of order/needed repair, and the price of a day pass ($35) is a bit high, even for a gym like this. I honestly hate writing negative reviews and truthfully, I'm not even sure if the owners care to improve the facility. The machines here are a powerlifters dream! The gym members are great and you're surrounded by people who are dedicated to the workout. The atmosphere is truly great. All that to be said, if you have even the slightest bit of cleanliness standards, this gym is an absolute no-go for you. For instance, the paper towel wipes will NEVER be restocked, the cloth towels that they expect EVERYONE to SHARE to wipe down the equipment absolutely reek, the ceilings are CAKED in dust and spiderwebs (which is lovely when they turn the fans on), the sauna floor looks like it's never been mopped and don't get me started on the occasional pee smell when you walk in. I really wanted to love this gym. I also do not have a problem spending $100 on a gym but the experience has to match. read more

Pros: big free weight area. Lots of equipment Lots of squat racks Good vibe. Mostly friendly people in the gym. Cons: bathrooms are downright gross. I don't particularly care, but my wife said the women's bathroom is disgusting. Doesn't have soap a lot of the time or paper towels. Sometimes ego lifters break equipment. There's a ton of people with tripods acting like they're special. And just getting in the way and or occupying a piece of equipment (or even two) for half an hour or more. read more

Honestly gone way down since they opened their new location. Paper towels, never restocked, out of tp, hand sanitizer, wipes, their sanitizer spray, always out every single day. A LOT of their machines, although very nice, are missing the correct pins (seat adjustments, etc) and have been this way for months. Their "shop" always empty and good luck finding help if you need anything, no one's here or they're hiding in the back. For 100+ a month most of this should be pretty basic. Besides that, the equipment that isn't broke or missing is great and the people here are awesome. read more

THE IRON OFFICE!!! I can't express in words how bad ass this gym is and how much I enjoy lifting heavy S#%T here!!! This is a veteran owned local business. The atmosphere, attitude & culture of this gym is 2nd to none!!! It all comes down to the owner Will, his passion for powerlifting and fitness is reflected in every aspect of his facility. Nothing but top notch competition quality equipment (Rogue, Texas Strength, etc) HUGE indoor area with plenty of racks, benches, deadlift platforms and free weights to go around! Not to mention space outside to get those work outs in under the California sunshine! The owners, management and members all treat each other like family. Every member is expected to be accountable for treating the facility with respect as if it was their own. Wether you are a beginner or seasoned powerlifter/gym goer you will thoroughly enjoy every work out at this facility! 10/10 for service, amenities, equipment and cleanliness. Staff are AMAZING and their autonomous setup are unparalleled. I was able to get a 6 day pass all setup within 5 min from my phone and seamlessly gained entry to the gym within 10 seconds. No waiting, selling or wasting time. Such a great gym and they don't even need any interaction required! You can buy your preworkout and protein shakes all on your own!!! So cool I wish we had this gym in my area in SoCal. Honest review and fair warning to would be members: If it wasn't for the pandemic I wouldn't sign up for this gym. The equipment is so-so, which is what this place seems to brag about the most. But it is a no frills, no non-sense type of gym. No cardio machines which they are upfront about. And once again no AC so that is something to consider during Fresno summers. It is ridiculously expensive for what little they offer. And they can't even guarantee that they'll be open during this pandemic which is understandable IF they would offer a refund or prorate your membership which they explicitly tell you they refuse to do, so huge points to a chain gym a la Crunch or even Planet Fitness. Also, that should be a huge clue to potential members that if any place of business refuses to offer refunds it's because they know they have a shitty or shady business. The owner isn't the best at communicating and you often find things out last minute with a hand written note on the fence, door, or from other members. But the most concerning issue is that pandemic precautions are NOT observed or enforced here. No one's wearing a mask, no social distancing, and very few people are cleaning up after themselves. Perhaps as a healthcare professional I missed the memo that Covid-19 has been cured? And with the current crap show that we're living in right now it's already been proven that we can NOT trust our fellow Americans to do their due diligence to be honest on the waiver and to stay home if they're sick. No wonder Fresno's number of infections have dramatically gone up. And the owner thinks by signing a waiver he's doing his part to protect his members but really it's just to avoid liability which believe me, will not hold up with the Department of Health or the court of law. I would suggest signing up for Crunch Fitness instead because it will eventually open back up or saving your money and buying your own weights which is what I'm doing. The gym we've been waiting for. My husband has wanted a gym that will supply him with what he needs to get the job done. He's found just that. After a few months, I decided to join as well and have been getting personal training from Jasmine. She's kicking my butt, while making sure I'm doing everything with proper form to avoid injury. She's also very encouraging. While I have not personally worked with William, I have heard nothing but great things about him as well. We're very happy to have found this place. read more

While I am not a member of this gym, I recently competed in a powerlifting competition that they hosted. The facility is perfect for powerlifting, the competition was professionally run and I really enjoyed my time and the meet. The owner and staff were responsive, reasonable and supportive. I'm not a member but I go to the boot camps weekly and everyone there is awesome! It's a great atmosphere, small and private, and you just feel comfortable there. I switched to this gym from a commercial one to train with equipment that is similar to competition in the IPF, and I've never looked back since. They have everything you need to get what you need done. The environment is perfect for people that are serious about lifting, and you don't have to worry about waiting to squat or use other equipment because everyone is nice and approachable. I wish people would put their weights back more often, but they address every issue that comes up and make it known that they want people cleaning up after themselves which I think is important. They take care of their gym and are always looking to upgrade or get new equipment for their members. read more
