The dress code in all Clovis Schools is ridiculous, long hair on guys is prohibited [lower than eyebrows, top of ears, or middle of neck], and all piercings are forbidden for guys and ears-only for girls. The teaching staff is pretty abysmal, not counting the few teachers that really do try. Every year they are in session it gets better and better. The staff is amazing, and the fellow parents are wonderful. This past year our fourth grader went on classroom field trips including the Carmel Mission, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the San Jose Tech museum. My youngest was on the football team last year. I have sat in on Friday Chapel, and it is uplifting for the soul. I can't speak highly enough regarding Clovis Christian Schools.

The priest has brought an extreme conservative ideology to this role that is completely out of character with the tone and values this church has always represented -- none of his predecessors led this way. Policies have changed in ways that feel exclusionary and fear-based, and when families have raised concerns, they haven't been heard. The community that made this church and school special is being eroded. I'd encourage anyone considering this school to ask leadership directly about their policies on family inclusion before enrolling.
