This wide pathway is also the boat launch. Walking unto the stable floating marina, lots of boats for rent, restrooms, a beautiful outdoor seating area, sundry/snack shop, great boat rental place, emerald waters and CARPS. Kids and the kid in me thoroughly enjoyed their smacking mouths sucking up their pellets. The sundry shop provides the food for free. The meandering forest ride passing the dam made it a fun trip. Enjoy a snack, coffee, ice cream and/or beer and enjoy it on that floating marina. There is a Sheriff hanging around, so behave!

Worth the three hour drive for a day trip. I wasn't sure on what to expect specially since I've…read morenever had a reason to go to Yuba County BUT I'm so glad we found the New Bullards Bar Reservoir, which is where the Dark Day Camp Ground is located. Great for swimming, boating, and camping. If you are going for day use, get there early preferably before noon. Parking is limited. The area where we parked only had space for less than 20 cars and that's parking creatively to fit all 20. Bring a portable grill because there are plenty of picnic tables but limited number of grills and they are not always near the tables or clean. I hate sharing food with bugs so we placed our canopy with a mesh screen over one of the picnic tables where we had our food. The spot we were at had some, maybe around 5-10 that I could see, unwanted winged visitors but it was tolerable. The drive was not bad. There are areas where the road is winding but not too steep. Not a lot of oncoming traffic and there were also few cars heading the same direction as us. We went on a Saturday and once we passed Sacramento traffic to Yuba County was light. I would have given this place 5 stars if the grills were more accessible and the toilet area did not smell like a toilet area.

You can kayak to such great scenery. The water is clear!!!!!! Very clear There are restrooms right next to the camping areas. Take some water shoes because the rocks hurt your feet. There is plenty of fishing there. It gets chilly so pack accordingly. There are no stores nearby so pack your food and snacks! Lock up your food.We haven't experienced any bears at our sites but others reported so. It's such a great spot. Love it

The trail is about 4 miles long and takes just a couple hours to do at a slow/medium pace. The trail is pretty wide, there were people with their dogs, a few little kids, and lots of groups enjoying the beautiful day. The majority of the trail is shady and covered by beautiful trees, some spots are under the direct sun so bring a hat or sunnies. You'll see tons of butterflies, wild flowers, birds, and of course will see the spillway. Parking is $10 cash paid to the park. This most recent time that I came it was very difficult to find parking, so if you plan to come on a weekend plan ahead and come early. I would also recommend bringing bus spray and being cautious of the poison ivy along the sides of the trail. Overall it's a beautiful hike and I'd recommend it!

After we called around all other businesses, such as this, we realized that Lake Tahoe boat rides was the most professional and upfront about their prices. Many companies didn't let me know that fuel and captain fees would be tacked on at after the ride as well as a certain gratuity. Sneaky! Once we arrived at Lake Tahoe, Boat Rides, Lindsay, the owner and everyone else was super friendly and helpful. They have a store with food/drinks, towels etc.. but they tell you in advance that you can pick it up elsewhere. They helped us carry our bags over to the perfectly clean and well maintained boat complete with our own captain who was incredible!!!!! Ask for Steve-O!!!! I do believe no matter who you get as a captain that you will have an amazing experience as we did. Steve-O was friendly and great with our 4 1/2 year-old. He provided just the right amount of history and information as we rode along and also took us to less touristy places that were also beautiful and so worth seeing. We cannot wait to come back and see Lake Tahoe boat rides next summer, and we will definitely be asking for Steve-O.

It was super cool and a little scary because this boat was awesome getting up to speed. Just went out for a short 2 hour trip and we brought some water toys they offer. Unfortunately we LOST the tube on the way back to the dock. I'm so sorry again for losing the tube. Staff was so sweet and they write on everything "majors outpost" so I hope it is brought back. I tipped a bit extra to thank them for not charging me for the tube. I think next time we need to check out the jet skis! Thanks again I'll be back Side note: Tried to rent last summer but had to cancel due to fire evacuations. I received a full refund which was greatly appreciated after the stress of the fire. Luckily my family's cabin still stands in mill creek and we were able to come back this summer.
