We were passing through the area and needed to get off the road. I called and spoke with Laurie. Even though they didn't have space, she offered up a dry camping spot inside the resort gate. I took it. I arrived around 10pm, I saw there was a swimming pool and the resort looked clean. Laurie had told me where to park and I located the spot without an issue. There were a lot of full timers in the park, most appeared to be working in the area. Loni, the manager, told me most of the full timers were linemen for PG&E and had brought their families for their long stays. It worked out well, my family felt safe, so it was worth the $25. The 76 station nearby had fresh coffee and I fueled up before heading out. I'd definitely stay at Dutch Flat RV Resort again. read more

We had a great one night stay at Dutch Flat RV Resort and will definitely stay again! We booked with Laurie day-of and were lucky to snag one of the last spots. Since we checked in after 9pm we were given clear directions to our spot and Laurie checked with us to be sure we made it in ok. Lois, the camp host, greeted us in the morning and was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful/peaceful setting, walking the trails and the picnic areas. Our dog enjoyed it too! Sometimes, you find a place that you really like and then everything goes sideways for no particular reason. It is refreshing to do a 34hr reset in a place that you're not offered drugs or have to be paranoid that everything is locked. About a year ago. I stopped at the truck stop/C-store which sits in front of this place and after using the restroom and walking Minnie, found some huge blackberry vines at the back of the parking area. Adjacent to the parking area were even more bushes, but there were No Trespassing signs all over. I respect private property so I called the number on the sign and asked permission. I was told that if I rented one of their little cabins i could pick as many as i like. I replied that i had to leave before first light to go get my backhaul and it would be a waste of money. The lady on the phone was very friendly and said because of "liability reasons" that i couldn't pick berries. (Everyone's a lawyer these days, but OK) No worries. I try to respect others' businesses and their sensibilities. So...fast fwd to now. I have had this place in mind for awhile. Berries are almost ready. Wife is with me these days and we stop in here to do a 34hr reset. That's a long time to sit in the truck. I call the Campground again. Lady is apologetic that no cabins are available. She suggests that we pay for "day use", which will allow us to use the showers (very tiny and primitive...but adequate) and the pool. (which is very clean, very nice, has nice lounge furniture all around, cool shade structures, just wonderful) Sadly, there are no laundry facilities "but plans are in the works". Excellent. We go over to Space 1 and sign the release of liability and pay. Cool. Wife and I have the nicest reset in a long time. We go for a hike, with one dog, down to the creek and back up. A good reminder how out of shape we are. We keep our dogs in the truck, idling, with the A/C on, while we hang out at the pool. We use the shower, and get cleaned up for dinner, across the street at the Monte Vista, where they're not 2-faced Aholes. The lady even comes over and gives us a heads-up that the showers (theres only 2) get congested once the construction workers, who are currently staying and paying monthly in all the cabins, arrive from their work day. Literally EVERY conversation we have with the lady, and her husband, are positive, friendly and I admired these folks, remarking several times to the wife that I could see us taking a month off and staying here to hike and fish. We followed all their rules, and everyone else we met, residents and their kids, were friendly as well. So, I get up the next day and sat at the picnic tables waiting for the pool to open. Pool opens at 9. I'm playing on my phone til then, watching fishing vids on YouTube. Lady from Space 1 rolls up in her car and asks if I'm staying in a cabin. "No, I reply, we paid for Day Use yesterday..." She interrupts me and says "that was yesterday, you can't be on the property any more." No explanation. OK, so I get up and start walking toward the gate, she has stopped to make sure I left. I walk up to her window and tell her I will happily pay for another day just to hang out by the pool so i don't have to sit in the truck. "No, there's no more Day Use, 'the husband' (her words) was really upset about it." Funny, because they were real nice in our conversations. One thing which truly annoys the crap out of me is two-faced weak a55 people who are smiley and friendly to your face but put someone else up to do their dirty work. For this reason, this place and these people typify why Commiefornia is literally THE WORST in the nation. When I told lady from space 1 that I had intended to leave a glowing review online, but now I wasn't going to, she replied with a smug "I don't care". California, Uber Alles. Dutch Flat RV resort is absolutely FANTASTIC, Ron and Laurie (owners) are wonderful people and I would consider them good friends at this point.. they are always doing projects and building up/ maintaining the park along with there 2 hard working boys... I lived there for 5 years and very much enjoyed my time spent in this beautiful place... Jen the RV park manager/ never ceases to amaze me handyman is AMAZING she will do absolutely anything to help you at the drop of a hat!! The park is clean and quite, it's a nice mix of contract workers, vacationers and full time live in rv'ers.. everyone is friendly and communicates well, occasionally you get a odd ball that stirs up strife then leaves a crazy review but 99.9% good people... the bathrooms are clean (cleaned very often) the electric is new and works great, the pool and trails are awesome and well kept... I would not hesitate to say this is the best RV park I've ever been to, not uptight, and very friendly open community... I've seen Trump and Biden flags being flown in adjoining spots and the people having beers together and an adult conversation on it's ok to have differing opinions we are all Americans at the end of the day... thank you Ron and Laurie for running such a shining example of what an RV park should be!!! We loved our stay here. We were lucky enough to get an end spot so it was nice and quiet and it was nice that at night it was actually dark. So many places the rigs are jammed in and the noise and light from other people make it hard to sleep. We walked down to the creek and it was very quite and lovely. We also went over to the pool and it was nice as there was not much activity. It was a nice weekend getaway for us. read more

I have called and e-mailed numerous times...they answer the phone and say they will call back...they have never responded to me by either e-mail or phone...obviously they have no interest in having new members or having people come to their camp ground...after I complained that they never called me back they told me I wasn't a good match for their park read more

Disclaimer: I have not actually stayed there however seems nice. The manager seems very friendly and called me back to answer my questions right away being within an hour. I talked to a few long-term linemen and they seem to like it. Looks like a good spot if you like ATV, Motocross, and other offroad sports. Be mindful if it's windy. Lots of California drought stricken pine trees. Not only widow makers but forest fires to. Just keep in mind where you are staying and enjoy the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. read more

I did not stay at Dutch Flat but did go there to dump our RV. Lois was very friendly and helpful. From what I could tell the RV park was well maintained and what a great location... right off 80 and close to all of what the Western Sierra has to offer. This is a wonderful RV park! It has a mix of long term residents and weekenders. But regardless of how long the people have been here, the community is always awesome. We have made life long friends here and have never felt more welcomed anywhere. We have been living here for a year now and reluctantly, we are having to move due to my husbands job. We could not have been happier here. Its a BEAUTIFUL Park. Clean amazing pool, bathroom and showers, and a rec room with a full kitchen for use. The roads were recently paved and yes the park is "rustic" but the forest is so peaceful and beautiful to be in. If you are looking for a concrete crap jungle, by all means - go look elsewhere - please don't bring that mindset here. This park has all the "amenities" and some. Hiking, a creek with a small part you can swim in and relax, blackberry bushes and cherry trees on the way down in summer! 4 Wheeler path and wonderful cool weather. Yes it is tucked behind a gas station, but that just adds to the convenience of being here, and does not affect that park in any way. Our kiddo attended elementary school in town, which was one of the best little schools I have seen in a very long time. He got to live in a community of people who cared about him. Including the camp host and the owners. He was safe and happy. Speaking of the owners, I have never met a more dedicated, hard working, caring couple in my life. They are truly amazing - constantly working hard to keep the park clean, efficient and maintained. They are working hard to improve everything, and are even building a locked gate to protect the residents of the park! If you come across this park, you will not be disappointed. read more

We went to this campground on our maiden voyage in our new trailer. We wanted to get high enough up the hill to be in the mountains but not too high and in the snow. This place was perfect for that. The camp host was one of the most friendliest people I have ever met. Also the lady over the phone that took the reservations was very nice. This place is a lol different because it is mainly people who live there with about 10+ spots for people like us to use. That was no biggie. The place was very quiet. Had a dump station if your spot didnt have full hookups. Also had a bathroom. They have a seasonal pool and clubhouse. The walk down to the river was super cool. We really enjoyed that. Cool place just don't expect a whole bunch. read more

This is our second time coming here to stay. The park is conveniently located directly of highway 80 tucked back in the tall pine trees that offer lot of shade during the summer months. The temperature tends to be a lot cooler here in the mountains if you need to escape the sweltering heat of the city. The park offers a beautiful cool refreshing pool for cooling off and lots of trails for hiking that leads to running crystal clear creeks if this is more your style. While hiking along the trails you could stop and pick some blackberries if in season. The park also offer a clubhouse where you could host a gathering or just use the BBQ. Directly outside of the park gates there's a convenient store for anything you might have forgotten or need. The park manager is readily available to help or answer any of your questions all hours of the day if needed.Her name is Lois and she is one in a million. The park offer full hookups and partial hookup. They do also offer a dump station for anyone that might have been passing through after dry camping. I have enjoyed staying here each time. The only thing I wish they offered was a 50amp hookup. Currently they only have 30 amps. read more

I would like to take the time to state a few remarks about this RV park. We live in Reno and wanted a close place to go to for my birthday. We arrived on May 4th 2017. We have a 40 ft Class A Motor Home along with friends with the same Class A. At first we were taken back by the lack of maintenance to the park. We were then greeted by Lori who explained that she inherited the park and had a partner who no longer exists. They have plans for renavation. We parked down the lower end and found our self quite comfortable . The permanent folks were nice and we had a good time. LORI was exceptional with printed coppies of where to visit etc. If you don't mind rustic you can't ask for a better host and owner!!! I look forward to coming back. read more

I'm sitting on my front patio, realizing that I came here a week ago yesterday for the weekend. We just decided not to go home. This is only 30 miles from Roseville, 30 miles from Truckee, 50 miles from Tahoe city. I commuted to work all week just so that I can come back here enjoy the mountain air, the swimming pool and the friendly staff. Lois, you rock. Although they do have some ohv trails, the best ones are on the other side of the freeway. It's quite easy to pack up your ride and drive over there and spend all day riding. This place has a gas station with everything, a great restaurant across the street and is just an enjoyable place to stay. I highly recommend it. read more

Decided to go for a quick short weekend getaway, yelped it and I found this place. Nice little spot , spaces are big , not crowded and close to sac. Full hook ups were nice, and for the price of 20 bucks a night well worth it. Our host Lois was very nice, accommodating and friendly. There's a full service gas station you can walk to and get supplies. Not much to do at resort but chill and have a drink or twelve . read more

Older RV park, located directly behind a gas station in the gap areas of the Western Sierra range off exit #145. Road in is 'very' rough so take it slow. Mix of semi-permanents with semi-level spots on dirt/gravel. Wouldn't work with the largest Class A motorhomes but for the average camp unit you will make it okay, we did in our 33' unit. Hookups are old and could use some minor repairs, we were not able to drain into the system because of a clogged septic connection. Pool is seasonal so it was closed during our visit. On-site manager was very friendly and cordial, answered all our questions and didn't bat an eye at our non-conventional home. Part of the Passport America program so that's a plus+ always good to save when you can. read more

I travel around the country for my work and stay at campgrounds. My stay can vary from a couple of weeks to several months. I have had the pleasure of staying here for approximately 5 weeks. Louis the camp host and Lori the owner have been great. I arrived several days early and they found a way to get me in. They also have cabins and a great pool. The park is in the mountains and as expected it has a rugged side and there are a few long term RV's but it is definitely a nice park and well maintained . We have loved staying here! Laurie and Lois were always friendly and accommodating. The park is quiet, and, for the most part, everyone keeps to themselves. We never lost a nights sleep due to noise. There are trails down to the creek that are nice to walk along. The pool and pool area are fantastic! It's fun to watch families riding their quads, walking their dogs, or just strolling along in the fresh mountain air. You certainly do not feel like you are down behind a truck stop/gas station on a busy highway! The location is so convenient and with the little gas station store and the Dutch Flat Trading Post just minutes away, you can plant yourself for a bit with the necessities! Is it a 5-star facility? Not by comparison to parks that charge much more and are much more uptight!! Are the roads a little bumpy? Yes, they are - but hardly a mountain road anywhere can be found without bumps! So, for a quaint little mountain RV park for a night, weekend, week, or month long stay - you get a great little secret gem for a very reasonable price with nice-as-can-be folks! read more

Absolutely wonderful park! Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, you're in a central location where you can visit any one of the amazing historical towns in Nevada or placer County. Not to mention I'm under an hour you can be in Lake Tahoe. The park has plenty of room for just about any rig you might have. The owners and staff here are some of the best people you will every meet. Kind and courteous. I've been to quite a few places and this park is by far my favorite. 10 out of 10 I would recommend coming here to see it. We just spent a HOT June weekend at Dutch Flat Campground and had a great time! We are kid free so we appreciate calm and quiet campgrounds and we don't need the playground infrastructure that comes with some of the larger RV campgrounds. Dutch Flat is quiet, secluded and rustic. The camp hosts are, maybe, the best we've come across so far. Our campsite was spacious and lovely. There is a trail behind the campground that leads to a beautiful little stream which our dogs just loved. It's a 1.4 mile round trip walk down a trail that is really a road wide enough to drive a car down, through a beautiful forest. The campground is in a strange place, located behind a gas station, so don't rely on your navigation system to get you there. Follow the directions given on their web site. We would give this place 5 stars except for the fact that their utilities seem to be a bit long in the tooth. Because it was hot, we ran our AC at night but it kept cutting out and reverting to fan mode only. After checking with our RV maintenance provider, they said it was probably the electrical service in the park not providing the full 30 amps we need. It is quite likely that with all the other RVs trying to run their ACs that there wasn't enough juice. We will definitely be back, in spring or fall! Update 7/2/17: Many apologies to the great crew at Dutch Flat Campground. It was not their electrical system that caused our air conditioner to drop back to fan only mode, it turned out to be something wrong with our AC unit. So sorry. Our RV guy was wrong! read more

Nice little spot for adults. Lois is a fantastic host, helpful and nice. There are a few long time residents here. The campground day/night is quiet and people are friendly. There was another review that said they felt unsafe especially at night, we never experience that not one of the three nights we stayed. We enjoyed our stay. There is a nice trail walk to a creek which was rolling super fast from recent storms. Bathroom is clean with hot showers. They have full hook ups and just in case needed propane at the gas station in the front entry of the campground. Which has a good selection of Oops I forgot to pack stuff items, snacks ect. Walking distance. The downside is no open pit fires so no marshmallow roasting unless you have a little Webber or Coleman,or sitting out late with a fire going. Maybe due to the past drought and dry conditions. They do have a ton of huge pines. There is not much to do with kids here unless the pool is open. Its only been mid 40's and rain during our stay. It was still a nice stay. Close to home for our new RV maiden. Oh I should add you should use a water regulator,They have excellent pressure maybe a bit too good which is a pro and con. This really is the mountains, like the area of central Idaho where I camped many times when we lived there. Large trees, dirt (loop) road, nice big spaces (we had a pull thru on the far end by the toilet block). Several trails within a hundred yards for my husband to walk the dogs. Not some Las Vegas style plastic resort with shaved lawns and shrubbery cut within an inch of it's life. Quiet, big trees, and a real feeling of being in nature. The old town of Dutch Flat is just up the road, and the buildings and cemetery are a must see. I wish we had had more time for day trips. Nice pool and amenity area near the entrance. It's a good thing we didn't listen to the Garmin (it told us exit 146) and did listen to Lois because you leave I-80 at exit 145, and then literally pull thru the parking lot of the big Union 76 gas station. You can see the RV park sign from the street, so that is easy. They have a check in space for RV's so you don't have to worry about blocking anyone while you check in. We have a 36' newer Class A RV and tow a Subaru and stayed two nights, August 2 & 3, 2018. It's hard to believe you are so near the interstate, we were not bothered by noise. We did hear a far away train whistle twice. Folks were quiet, no rowdy parties. The staff does patrol. read more

Perfect getaway! We wanted to spend time in Truckee, but all the parks were full. We literally stumbled upon this park and were very pleasantly surprised! Pull thru spots. Beautiful pine trees. Our host, Lois, deserves 10 stars for her exemplary customer service. This is a Passport America Park, so the price was awesome. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because you can't really call it a Resort...roads were pretty beat up, no TV. But it was perfect for a relaxing, cool night. We would definitely return. Girls weekend with a small travel trailer and dog. Having a great time. Could not ask for more friendly management or considerate camping neighbors. Great experience overall. Well kept grounds with lots of trees and shade, convenient bathrooms and showers. Road is bumpy coming in but fine as long as you take it slow. Would recommend. Quiet park, very nice managers, excellent wide and long sites. Beautiful area. Road in is very very rough with pot holes galore. Only 30 amp would be an issue in summer... We will be back, spring or fall. If they upgrade to 50 amp we will visit summers. Close to great gold panning on Bear River, also kayaking on Rollins Lake. Fairly distant train whistles every 1 1/2 hours day and night. Ear plugs help with that. read more

Stayed in space #33. Space was level. Nice and quite. Everyone was friendly. The girl at the gas station just outside the park even went in back to get me a red onion for my husbands famous mushroom burgers. Passport america and good sam memberships accepted. Price was $20 a night. Bathrooms were clean. Park was maintained well. 45 min from Newcastle. Would definitely camp here again. read more
