I've played here about 50 times, and I can't believe they only charge $10 to walk as many holes as you want on a weekday. It's $28 to play 18 with a cart on weekends. So, why so cheap? - The fairway and rough grass is basically as god made it. Now, all that said, it's 5-stars because: - It's not an easy course. - The greens are pretty well kept. All the sins of a cheapo golf course are forgiven when the greens are in good enough shape. - It's pretty. It's right there along the Catoctins. - Folks are friendly. When we drove up, we were greeted by the President of the club board. She was friendly and personal and made us feel welcome. To add to our day, this was a fun course to play with a lot of variety. Some short, some long, a few good dog legs, and some water obstacles. Not bad for a decent price, including cart. The tee boxes were well-taken care of and the greens trimmed and allowed for some decent putting, though it is admittedly early in the year. Nonetheless, this place was warm, welcoming, fun, and affordable, making a perfect day for a father/son outing.
