We have two Odysseys (don't ask, big family) and both were coming up on the dreaded 100,000 mile engine maintenance schedule. I say dreaded because no matter where you take it or even doing it yourself, it will cost a lot. With HPR, however, I know I can trust them to do quality work with OEM parts and not overcharge for their work. It is a huge job. They got work done in a timely fashion and for a really fair price, especially considering the pride they took in their work. But you do have to get on their schedule. They are in demand.

After success taking my car there a few years ago I tried Sloan's again. This time was very…read moredisappointing. I was very clear about the current issues when dropping off the vehicle but clearly it was not being written down because I had to repeat myself on multiple phone calls. Although I tested the battery and even had tried to jump start it multiple times with my own cables and jump pack from the tow company, they were insisting I replace my battery to resolve the issue. After picking up my vehicle, I took it home and parked it for the night. Next morning I had the same issues as when I dropped it off to them days before. I do not believe Sloan's was honest about the repairs needed on my car and sold me on an expensive service because they knew the battery location in my vehicle is not easily accessible. Every service being quoted had ridiculous prices behind it. $213 to repair a $20 sensor after the car was already taken apart and paying $181 for diagnostics is insane. $574 to replace a $15 gasket is laughable. $262 to pull off a plastic cover and remove/replace 4 spark plugs, $105 for a $20 air filter. I understand cost of labor involved but some of these mark ups are so unrealistic, they cannot expect any person with even beginner car maintenance knowledge to pay these prices before doing it themselves.

Mechanic plus replaced the pump and I drove the car for a few months before noticing the coolant leaking and oil leaking. I went to my normal shop for the oil leaking when they told me the pump was leaking again. I got the oil leaks fixed and took it to mechanic plus and the first time they claimed they pressure tested it and it was fine. I brought it back about a month after because the leak was getting worse. I dropped it on Saturday when they were closed and got a call Monday morning saying they replaced the pump again. No way they did that job in a morning. Sure enough the next day it was leaking coolant faster than before. Took it to my main shop and they informed me that the pump was never replaced and that the problem was just a broken clamp above the pump. Not only did mechanic plus lie and claim they warrantied the pump but they probably never looked at the car or they would have seen the broken clamp. Even if your car breaks down in their parking lot tow it somewhere else.

I got my car fix for 45% less than the quote JJ gave me. This particular shop has prices way higher than the dealership Field BMW. When I went to get my car back, I told one guy they will be out of business soon and he said No I do not think so we are busy. I wish them the best of luck but when someone acts cokie they would not last long. Again I wish them the best but before you make a decision to leave your car in this shop please take the quote somewhere else and you will get a way better price. Also when you take your vehicle there, with the problem you're bringing the car for, you will come out with 5 other problems lol. My quote came to over $5K and I had to laugh. The same problems the car had were going to be fixed for my car for less than $3K. That's a big difference. Please before leaving your car with JJ, take the quote to another European shop and I will bet you will get a way better price. I am not sure how they are getting a 5 Star review in Google either they are paying someone for those or they are asking their customers to give them a a 5 star review. If you look they have been open for a few years and they do not have that many reviews to be saying they are busy. Anyway do your research first before leaving your vehicle.
