I brought my car in because I was having an issue with extended cranking to start my car. Not enough fuel was getting to my engine for it to start properly. My issue was a little more complicated, because the issue potentially involved a warranty from another shop that was going out of business. I was referred to these folks, as they were willing to accept the warranty for the parts covered under it. I'd just have to pay the labor. On the plus side for them, they were able to take me on very short notice. I called and was able to bring the car in the next day for repair service. I don't know if they are always this flexible with their availability, but I've dealt with another shop where I needed to wait at least two weeks for them to take me. That's not feasible when you need your car fixed quickly so that you can get to work. They took me quickly, which was well appreciated. The staff is incredibly friendly and personable. Every single person there was super nice to me, even from the moment I called. Their customer service is superb, so no worries there. They managed to fix my problem at minimal cost to me. My particular issue appears to just have involved the cleaning of some parts of the engine. They only charged me 62 dollars for that service, which was more than reasonable. I also went ahead and got an oil change and tire rotation while I was at it, and that was pretty inexpensive as well. Also, these folks are very honest. They only fix what needs fixing, which is the mark of a great auto shop. My issue was resolved within a reasonable timeframe and they communicated well with me throughout the process. About a year ago I made this extremely smart purchase of a 1984 AM General Postal Truck. (that was sarcasm) To make a REALLY long story short, the truck had tons of problems, one of which included a previous engine fire before I bought the truck. The previous owners did a fantastic job at rigging pieces and parts to get it to run again. So it was a freakin mess under the hood when I got it. I tried to save money by letting "mechanics" come over to try to fix it. I went through three. One of them charged me $800 to basically do nothing. The other didn't have a clue, and the third, who I actually have a lot of respect for and has been a certified mechanic for like 30 years, was also stumped. This whole process took about three months. Not to mention the $100 a pop it was costing me every time it broke down and I had to get it towed. (AAA doesn't cover this kind of truck) Convenient right? I finally bit the bullet and brought it to C & H, where my brother has brought his cars and where I bring my Civic. I've always thought they were fair and did really nice, honest work. Not even kidding you, they had my truck fixed in 2 hours and it cost me $200. I felt like such an idiot. WHY DIDN'T I JUST BRING IT THERE TO BEGIN WITH?! It was at that moment I said nobody other than Jeff and Scott are touching my truck again. I had zero problems *knock on wood* with my truck since they fixed it. About a month ago my oil light started to flicker and was leaking oil a little bit. Awful! They overcharge and are rude! Took the car in to get a sensor replaced, my mechanic friend said it would take less than an hour, they took 3! Then charged $200 and said I was getting a deal because they only charged me for 2.5 hours! Then I leave the lot and my car died! Have AAA tow it because the owner won't pay for towing! Obviously they messed something up and don't want to fix their problem that they created! Never again and not going to recommend unless you want to be overcharged and given attitude while you have service done. read more

I've been going to C&H Garage since about 2007/2008. One day I was speaking with a co-worker of mine, "Drew", about some car work I needed done but how with being a female I was nervous and worried about where to go because I tend to get taken advantage of. Drew recommended C&H to me...and my husband and I have never looked back. Scott Connatser is the Owner and Master Tech. Scott has taken such good care of us and developed such a high level of trust with us, that for the rest of my life I will never use any other mechanic. Michael and I just had one of our vehicles in his shop; Scott had given us a few "could be this, could be that" scenario's over the phone, with the most expensive cost having potentially been to replace the starter in my husbands Kia for about $400-$500...the final bill was just over $100; we had a few loose wires and some corrosion and he patched a small hole in one of our tires. Time and time again Scott and his team (family owned) reinforce to us that they are indeed there to HELP their customers, not financially hurt them. I don't trust anyone other than C&H. My husband and I live on the far side of West Orange County and (after being referred by 2 family members and a friend of the family) have brought our vehicles to C and H on numerous occasions. Brothers Jeff and Scott are very honest and have saved us money on costly repairs we were told were needed, only to find out the issue was something completely different (and less money to repair/replace). Recently, we tried using another garage that was very close to our home, since it was AAA approved. We were told we needed ball joints for our Ford Taurus and nearly collapsed at the quote. We decided to call C and H and were quoted $250 less!!!! After having C and H do this recent job my husband and I agreed that we will make the nearly 40 mile round trip drive to come to this garage for every one of our servicing needs.
