I have been coming to discount auto center for a little over a year now. I started coming here when I got the feeling that Midas on Orlando Ave was being dishonest with me and taking my money (that's a whole other story). Since the start Ravi has been great with my car. He always makes sure to get my car in and out as quickly as possible, works within my budget, and is honest and reliable. He sticks to what he knows, and if he can't help you, will refer you to someone who can. I had a transmission problem, and he filled my transmission with fluid free of charge until we found the source of the leak. He also found out that Midas had put a warped water pump on my vehicle that went bad in less than 9 months of putting it on, and replaced it for LESS than what Midas had charged me. He listens to my concerns and takes them seriously, instead of brushing me off like other mechanics did. He is fantastic. I reccomend him to all of my friends in search of mechanics. I came here because of the high reviews on Yelp, but what I found was a dirty, disorganized garage and dishonest staff. I came in for what should have been a simple oil and filter change just to see if we'd make a good match for the future. No one in the office to greet me and there was no paperwork, no receipts. The job took a bit longer than expected. When it was all done, I went home and found out that the oil filter hadn't been changed. I know this because its in a pretty tough spot (which is why I didn't want to do it myself), and they struggled to try and get to it. Instead of telling me that they couldn't do it, they just said it was done and took my money. I didn't go back to try and fix the problem because I sure as hell didn't want them touching my vehicle again. They might be good for custom exhausts (according to the reviews, anyways), but I would never recommend guys that would lie to your face. read more

These 5 star ratings must be friends of the shop.. BAIT AND SWITCH!!! These guys are crooks! I took my truck in for a simple brake job; got my truck back with 3 new problems. Having been forced to go to another shop, I learn that none of the brake pads are new. So, they took my money and didn't give me new parts. From my own inspection, I found brake lines hanging off their connections and none of the expected work was done. Parts on my truck that were new are now old parts that are broken down. I got towed 2 miles, got charged for 20 miles. And, suspicious fraudulent activity on my credit card immediately after they got the information for payment. It's discounted because you can't count on it. Save yourself from these con artists! read more

Had my flex pipe split on me just before I was supposed to drive down to Miami, they had a new one welded on and me back on the road in less than 30 minutes! The waiting room is sort of non-existent and I agree with the review about it being dirty, but they beat my other quotes and had it done extremely quick. So, I'm not going to complain about it, but I'm sure it would be nice for some people. And after 3 months, I have not had any issues with the new flex pipe or the welding, they did a great job. read more
