"Quality" Cage? Pfft more like Garbage Cage Horrible company with zero customer service. Don't waste your time ordering from them. I try to shop ethically whenever possible, so Garbage Cage's "made in the USA" shtick totally got me. I ordered a chinchilla carrier in early August. The shipping time was supposed to be 30-45 days. As of this review it's been 54 days, with no shipping label in sight. They periodically sent me canned emails telling me they hadn't forgotten my order, but the last such email was in early September. I've reached out to their support email three times over the last two weeks. No response, of course. I ended up filing a chargeback with my bank and ordering another carrier from Bass Equipment. Sadly, I was waiting for a proper metal carrier to take my new chinchillas in for a vet checkup. I adopted them at the end of August and hoped I'd have the carrier a week or so later. I considered buying their Chinchilla Mansion cage and now I'm sooo glad I didn't. If I had, I would still be waiting for it now, and my chinchillas would still be waiting for a home. There are FAR better alternatives to Garbage Cage. Buy wheels or flying saucers from Etsy shops. Buy the Critter Nation or Ferret Nation from Chewy (MidWest cages have their own issues, but they're the best I've seen, and Chewy will definitely send them to you on time). Ordered several items in March/May of 2024, including a cage. I am a past customer, who since 2013, has always been a huge fan of this company and always highly recommended this company to other chinchilla owners. Well, fast forward, regretfully I am here today to report otherwise. From being a past customer, I was aware that the production time and shipping times are often lengthy delivery. For this reason, our refrained from reaching out to the company for quite a while. Eventually, in August , I did reach out to inquire of the status. They responded with their default response email, and a few days later somebody actually did respond to me informing me that one of the crafters received a surgery which was cause for extra lengthy delay but my items would ship out soon, I believe they even said 6 more weeks. Of course, them replying advising me one of their employees was going through something health related, the compassionate person I am, I let it go and patiently continue to wait. Out of my entire order, I've only ever received one chinspin (of two I ordered). Six weeks passed and I inquired again, no response, more time passed, I inquired again... I emailed them extremely thorough emails with dates and times of promised delivery dates and no response at all. I was completely in shock. Couldn't even get a hold of somebody to get a fair refund at minimum. I ended up contacting my credit card company around December and reporting the two extremely expensive orders I have placed within that time period of March/may 2024. Supplied them with all of my attempted correspondence, and the one returned correspondence with them. Fortunately, they ruled in my favor and I won the dispute, so they gave me my money back (the credit card company not Quality Cage). I don't wish this upon anyone, it was over $1000 charged to my credit card with absolutely no products, and not even any communication after the initial which promised a six week window in addition to the already several months I had waited at that point. How do you do that as a company? I understand things happen, but do the right thing by your customer at least and don't disappear. Absolutely Crazy... I'm actually wondering how they are still in business? It's a shame, because their products were really crafted well but what good is that if they just take your money, cannot be contacted, does not return messages or your money if issues arise.... I placed an order in in March of 2024, and received an email indicating that they would be in touch and 20 days was typical turn around time. Awesome. I don't mind waiting for quality items. It's now May 20th, with my last update of a $500+ order being March 14th with a turnaround of 20 days. I've sent multiple emails checking in, with a "we'll be in touch in 48 hours" type auto response. The last one I sent 17 days ago, and followed up again last week. There has been no communication on their end, and there is no way to get ahold of this company outside of emails. I have heard nothing but good things about this company, and I am so disappointed in the lack of customer service. I genuinely wouldn't mind having to wait this long if there was just a general check in every few weeks letting me know that the order is still in their queue. Seeing that the most recent comments are indicating the same issue, until this can be addressed by the company itself the risk isn't worth it. read more

I have bought a cage from quality cage crafters 7 years ago, its beautiful, unfortunately my chinchillas got into a fight, and I had to separate them, I had my daughter go get me a temporary cage for one of my chinchillas, immediately got online and ordered a new cage from quality cages. Unfortunately, the next morning I took my chinchilla to the vet and it died in the waiting room, and when I got home, I had my husband call to cancel the order because I was so upset, and I didn't need another cage, my husband called and said you have to email them and they will email you back within 48 hours, and he did. I have never heard from them since and I have emailed them at least six times put reviews on Facebook Instagram and now I'm doing this on yelp. It's so very unprofessional and I'm so upset because I really did love their cages! This all happened May 26 . Please check into them before you make a purchase. Where to begin, not the first time I've ordered from them. Usually I have great customer service but this time they have SERIOUSLY dropped the ball. I placed on order on 2/19/2024 for a deluxe package chinchilla mansion with the new steel shelves instead of the wood. I emailed them to make sure they saw that & got a response within 24 hours that they did & they'll keep me updated every step of the way. Sweet deal! 3/11/2024 I get my first update saying it's been moved into production and I'll be receiving an update in 1-3 business days about shipping and then a final email with tracking. I've checked all my folders, especially the spam/junk folder and I didn't receive anything! I emailed them back on 4/4/2024 asking for an update, got an automated reply saying someone will get back to me in 48 hours. NOTHING! I reached out again on 4/8/2024, same ordeal: automated reply, no response. 4/15/2024 I reach out on Instagram and I still have not heard from them! If I could give zero stars to y'all I would. The last update I received was on 4/26 stating that my order was still under production. I have been emailing since 5/16 with no reply. Their phone line says they don't listen to messages due to high oder volume and Covid. I'm always hesitant to leave poor reviews. Especially with the current state of things with coronavirus. However, I've repeatedly tried to contact this company about my three (3!) orders placed weeks ago. One was through Amazon which I received, though it was late. The other two orders were placed through the website. Despite repeated attempts to call and email, I've received no communication other than automatic replies saying that they are experiencing a high sales volume and will respond within 48 hours. There is no excuse for this. Weeks have passed after this "48 hour" response was due. I'm an understanding person. A simple reply saying they are busy but apologizing for the wait along with a rough eta for the product would have been more than sufficient for me. But they need to actually communicate with me out of courtesy. I held back on posting this review because of coronavirus complications everywhere. But when I saw in the reviews that this is a recurring trend for the company, even outside of a pandemic, I knew I needed to add my experience. It's truly unfortunate and upsetting that a simple reply was never sent weeks ago. I won't be buying from this company again and encourage others to look elsewhere. read more

As of right now, they have stolen hundreds of dollars from us, given us no cage, and have apologized and promised to make it right before completely ceasing any contact. I'm pretty heartbroken. I believe in supporting small businesses that do good work, but my family feels swindled and have no idea how to recoup our losses. They took the time to delete the comment (which was truthful and asking for their help), but still have not responded to where our cage is or if they have any intention of getting it to us. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They came recommended from a prairie dog group. I submitted my order on Oct 13th 2021. Website said 30-45 days. I was fine with that. November came and went... December came and went... January I email them and he claims he had covid (maybe he did , maybe he didnt.. ) said they would be making prairie dog cages that next week and shipping out by Friday. I found this odd since I had ordered in October. Anyhow.. next week came and went and still no cage. I emailed them again 0 response .. crickets. At this point its Jan 21st and I filed on Paypal. Why do you have to choose 1 star to leave a review?! This company deserves 0 stars! I was excited to place my order for an all metal, custom built cage for my Prairie Dogs. When ordering, their site explained it would take approximately 4 to 6 weeks for completion and delivery of my order. When 7 weeks rolled around, I started trying to reach out to them. When calling them, I got a voicemail that says they are not answering phones due to ongoing Covid and preparing orders. When Covid came about, around four 4-1/2 years ago, the world practically stopped. After a brief period, the world resumed, as normal. This is just a poor excuse for them to not face their paying customers that they are intentionally ripping off. When messaging them through their contact forum on their website, I received an auto generated email stating they received my message and would contact me within 48 hours. Not once did they try to contact me. Lastly, when emailing them, I never received a response. Today makes 11 weeks and 4 days since paying them $509.76 for a cage and a nesting box. I have tried to contact them multiple times through the 3 methods listed above. They don't respond, they won't respond. Take warning and save your hard earned money. If you are in the market for a quality cage, I highly suggest Exotic Nutrition. I had purchased from them many times and I had never encountered a problem. The only reason I chose to purchase a cage from Quality Cage Crafters is because they advertise this specific cage to be designed and built for Prairie Dogs. That was a huge mistake! The cage was well made and I have no complants about the people who made it. However shipping and customer service need some serious improving. My topper was made in a few weeks just like estimate said and I received an email telling me topper would be shipped in a couple days, it also told me I would receive tracking number. After that it was radio silence for weeks and weeks. No tracking number, no updates, no response to my numerous emails. I finally have topper now, months after I ordered it, but only because I emailed demanding a refund. That email managed to actually get a response and they finally managed to get around to actually shipping my topper which apparently had been sitting in their warehouse for a few months. No telling how long it would have taken if I hadn't asked for a refund. If you want a nice topper and don't mind waiting a few months to get it this is the service for you. If you want to get a topper before your rodent dies of old age, probaly not. read more

We ordered a chinchilla cage back in July 2020 for over 700 US dollars. We were told it would be ready in 3 to 5 weeks. Fast forward to September, we were told again, after multiple unanswered emails, that due to covid and material shortage it would be ready in November. We decided to wait, after all it has indeed been an awful year. Now, half past November, they have stopped answering to all our emails. No one is picking up the phone. It's as if they just disappeared. We finally decided to start a dispute process with our bank. This is no way to run a business, and I would recommend to not buy from this vendor. read more

I had to post on here since Qualitycage deletes my review on their website. We were told the cage would get to us in 45 days and it took about 3 months. I was in communication with the company and they told me a few times that it was shipped and would arrive to me by a certain day but the packages were never delivered by the day told to me. The parts came in two separate deliveries that were about a week apart so I had to wait even longer to build it. After de-boxing the cage, my wife and I were not satisfied. The metal was not polished at all and had an unpleasant looking rust like exterior. There were also many parts on the cage with an adhesive that was poring out of the metal and made it sharp to the touch. We had to clean the cage and cut off those sharp spots. There was also noticeable damage on parts of the cage making it visually unappealing. Very disappointed with this purchase, especially after paying $700 for what they say is a "quality" cage. read more

Absolutely awesome cages! I purchased a three story ferret mansion from them. My ferrets love it! It has plenty of room for everything and it's well made and sturdy. Each story has a loft, so it has a total of six levels, and each story can be closed off by simply hooking the ramp on the neat little hook. I had my cage powder coated in black which also makes it look really nice. It even has wheels, because I also purchased the stand. This makes it super easy to move for cleaning behind and under it. I added vinyl flooring so that their feet would not be on any cage surface. When we visited their showroom, they were super friendly and helpful. I am really impressed by these cages and would definitely recommend them over any other ferret cage. And based on my experience, after visiting their showroom, the cages they have for birds and other small animals are great too. They work with rescues and pet owners to design cages that are well suited to the animals. And if those won't work for you, they will even custom build one! Very highly recommended! read more

This is the best place to get a really well made cage for your small animal or bird. Go to their website www.qualitycage.com. My chinchillas love their new cage. They use safe materials such as solid pine for shelves (my other chinchilla amputated his foot on the wire shelf of the old cage we got from petco) The galvanized tray & shelf guards catch all their poop so it is super easy to clean. Also love the exercise wheel that doesn't make any noise when they run on it. Customer service is excellent. They sent me a replacement guard that was damaged in the mail without any hassle. I was super excited to find these guys in my area! We don't have much when it comes to safe things for chinchillas around here so I decided to go check out their store and pick out some treats. On google it claimed they were open until 4:30 pm and I showed up about 3:30 to find their doors locked. So I get back in my car and send a message to the owner.. you think I've heard anything back? Nope. From what it sounds like from other reviews this company is sometimes impossible to get a hold of which is incredibly obnoxious. I don't care how awesome your products are, if you can't respond in a timely manner or even have your doors open when you say they will be I will not be wasting my time trying to track you down. I placed an order on February 3 and paid extra for expedited shipping. After not getting any updates I was told there was a small delay and it would be shipped February 14. Upon still not receiving anything I was told there was still a delay and that it would be shipped soon. We remained patient knowing sometimes there are family emergencies and so forth. I got a notification it was shipped March 5, but still have not received anything as of March 21. We have asked through email, company site, and social media and cannot get a response. The tracking number from March 5 still states a label was created but no movement. I spent almost $600 which is a considerable amount for a military family of five and am disappointed in this company's customer service and delivery practices. read more

I'm reasonably happy with the rabbit cages I've purchased from here but they do not take their business side seriously. I can't count how many times I've shown up here, well within normal business hours, and they're randomly closed. SO frustrating! Today I'm wanting to pick up extra carriers so I can bring my rabbits inside during a heat wave but they're randomly closed for 4 days!! Love this place. They make awesome cages. Well built and sturdy. I was able to get a cage custom built to my specs and did not have to pay much more than a standard. I was told the cage may take up to 4 weeks to make. I appreciated that they were up front with me. But I got a call less than a week later letting me know my cage was ready. The staff is wonderful. I did a lot of research before choosing them. What sold me was seeing there cages in many aviaries across the country. I will definitely be buying more from them in the very near future! read more

Buyers BEWARE! This company came highly recommended from several top-notch chinchilla breeders in Florida. My experience with this company and its CEO Josh, was awful. I ordered over $400 in products and paid extra for expedited processing and shipping. Long after the expedited shipping time had elapsed, I received an email stating that my order was delayed due to high order volumes. I then called the company on six different occasions. There is no direct number to the company so all calls are forwarded to an answering service. I left six different messages and never received a return call. I then wrote a lengthy email to the CEO from the company's own website. Again no response. I tried to contact the CEO via his Facebook page- no reply. I finally filed a dispute with PayPal and escalated it. After 10 more business days, the CEO, Josh, did not even reply to PayPal so per PayPal policy my money was refunded. After further investigation, it turns out my order did eventually ship and made it all the way from Idaho to Florida before the sender (Josh) requested UPS to send the order back to Idaho. If you look at other reviews, you will see that this awful customer service is a recurring theme. The CEO of this small business is foolish enough to think that with such poor/lack of customer service, he will continue to have a successful company. read more
