Our Trane HVAC condensing unit outdoors was partially submerged by Helene flood waters. After the storm, I called Quality Comfort to get the thick mud removed from the housing, the coil cleaned, and the mounting pad re-leveled (it was undermined by the flood water). I told the dispatcher that there were a number of my neighbors with the same issue, so she told me she was going to schedule a team to come out the next day and plan on being in our development for the entire day. I got the word out to my neighbors to call Quality Comfort. Not only did the technicians arrive as promised, but they also arranged for the delivery of a tank of potable water we could use for bathing and flushing toilets! When our power was restored, I flipped the breaker for our HVAC system, and it worked as well as it did before the storm. read more

AVOID- we have done business with these guys in the past. 8 days ago we made an appointment for them to top off one of our HVAC units that had lost a little bit of charge when we were moving the head. Pretty much the most basic thing an HVAC person could do. The person said the earliest they could come out would be this Friday and quoted me the price per pound- said it was no issue. It's a vacation rental so we blocked off the rental for Friday so this could be done- thus losing revenue. TWENTY MINUTES before our appointment we get a call from them that they can't do the work and don't want to be "liable" for working on a unit they didn't install (again- they've been here before with no issues) Incredibly unprofessional- I expressed my surprise and the guy didn't care at all. I did let him know that I'd be writing a review to warn others and his response was "do what you need to do" while laughing. I just realized 90% of their google reviews are written by their employees- sad. Harder to scam Yelp so trust the one star average and choose another company. What a joke. read more

We have been customers of Quality Comfort WNC for probably 20 years. They have always been there when I needed them. They first serviced an old oil furnace we had that was always a problem. They had to find an old motherboard to get it working in the middle of winter and they got it done. Finally we had them install a new gas furnace and heat pump and they continue to keep it running in top shape. Andy has always been our guy, he knows our system very well and I am always amazed at how fast he can solve a problem but we have also had several other techs and they were all excellent. Lastly I just wanted to mention that their pricing is very reasonable. I wish I could give them ten stars! read more

We built a new home in 2019 and Quality Comfort installed the HVAC systems. We asked to be set up for routine maintenance and never succeeded despite a couple of attempts. We also experienced a few issues with distribution of the airflow and humidity control so we wanted someone from their firm to assess our needs and they did not respond to that either. Due to a more pressing need to add humidity in the winter months we had them install a humidifier that was installed incorrectly. Although it functioned, it also blocked a large portion of the plenum thereby reducing airflow that we had already expressed concerns about. We had another firm assess our situation and they removed the humidifier and properly installed a new one, they adjusted the airflow issues successfully, they installed a new mini-split system in an area of the home we had neglected to have HVAC installed, they installed dehumidifier for the summer months and they have set us up for routine maintenance service. All of our contacts with the new firm were met with prompt replies and sound suggestions. NONE of the contacts with Quality Comfort were responded to either promptly or with thoughtful assessments. QC may be adequate for a quick HVAC repair or light duty issues, but in our situation they designed an inadequate system for our larger home and completely failed to follow up with us regarding concerns. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the firm for new installs or HVAC design services. read more

I have had Quality Comfort Heating and Cooling do most of my HVAC, work on my house, through AHS warranty program.. I cannot say enough about this company.. The service tech i get most of the time, is named Stephan.. he is the best... I haven't had many major issues, but they are always prompt when sending a tech out, and solve the problem quickly..Today, the furnaced worked in the morning, by the afternoon, I was getting NO heat.. I called AHS, made my appt, then directly called Quality Comfort Heating & Cooling to see if I could get someone out the same day.. They were very accommodating and had someone (Stephan) out by 5:30pm.. He quickly solved the problem, had the part needed, and we had heat again.. I highly recommend this company read more

I have a home warrant via American Home Shield. When my AC wasn't working correctly, I requested service via the AHS website and Quality Heating and cooling was assigned. Contractors are supposed to call to schedule an appointment. After not hearing from anyone, I again requested service via the AHS website (about a month later). This time they called on time and we set an appointment for the following day between 8 and 10 am. At 11:20 that day, I called their office to inquire as no one had shown up or called. The receptionist told me she didn't know why they didn't show up and offered to give me the technician's number so I could call and ask when he might be coming by. I declined to act as their scheduling coordinator. I checked the AHS website and my request had been marked as "Completed". I don't know how they are at fixing AC, but I can say they are fairly terrible at customer service. I wouldn't recommend them based on this limited experience. read more

I had to work with this company because I have a home warranty through American Home Shield. At first the tech said we needed a new AC unit because it wasn't cooling the house properly. Then he changed his mind and said we needed more freon. We spent a ton of money on freon. The unit still did not work. The next tech said we had too much freon. He took some out. The unit still didn't work. Finally the unit was replaced. It still doesn't work because they installed an AC that isn't compatible with our furnace. Now the AC doesn't work at all! read more
