The staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were older and showed some wear but they were clean and everything worked. We had a fridge and microwave. The shower head is very high up which my partner who is 6'3" appreciated. The water pressure could be a little better There is no elevator on site and it has two levels. The pool is still under construction. There is an onsite bar with a large dance floor. Happy Hour from 5-7. The drinks were not expensive but very basic offerings. The bartender was very kind. The upstairs BW Grill offered a complimentary breakfast made to order from their menu and in addition they also had fresh fruit and warm cinnamon apples. The breakfasts were very filling and even included a beverage. The beds were firm and had four pillows on each with varying firmness. We really enjoyed our stay for the price! read more

Recently returned to Erie, PA for a short trip and after a very slow checking around for a bed/room close to Presque Isle SP that wasn't easy nor quick, we decided to return to this place that we stayed at over a year ago. It was worthwhile with the great food and familiar grounds. Even in summer there is tons of parking available. The same great food is available still in the dining area next to the lobby, and now we discover the dining is available in the evening too! Just check the hours listed on the dining area doors for breakfast and dinner hours. The internet also has improved with FAST internet and very quick easy check in to use it. This is the first stay in a hotel that actually had REAL [not thin as a thread] and an area guide that included the TV channels! We were very happy with our stay! read more

But hey, I knew exactly what I was in for from the Yelp reviews, but my sister & I desperately needed a place to stay for a few nights on a July 4th holiday weekend & quality inn & suites had the best rate in Erie. Overall, the room was not terrible. Carpet had some stains, but beds were comfy and the bathroom was pretty clean! The shower was such a treat! The water was hot & the pressure was strong! I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it has gown progressively worse, condition wise. The carpet made my socks black. The toilet leaked water on the floor. We stayed five nights, and they never changed bed linens. They dropped off fresh towels daily but never changed bed linen. We thought by stripping the bed and leaving linens in a pile they would get the hint. They didn't get the hint. The free breakfast was great in the past but not so now. We didn't go back a second time for this. The price was reasonable, but I think next time I will spend more money on a nicer hotel. read more

So... I didn't even stay....... Because I couldn't.I absolutely COULD NOT! This place was absolutely repulsive as soon as we pulled in the parking lot. However, I decided to give it a shot and remain optimistic (Spoiler alert... Bad call on my part.) I had to go to the front and ask to cancel because girl BE FOR REAL! The lamp shade was stained??? The ceiling was stained and CRACKING???? THERE WAS BLOOD ON THE FLOOR??????!!!!!!?? The filter for the AC unit was absolutely the original one that came with it/was never cleaned. The bed sheets and blankets were wrinkled.... The hallway smelled like cat pee (thought it wasn't animal friendly, so whose pee was it?) .... If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a night, then this place isn't it. One would think that the place being out in nowhere, it'd be quiet, but that's not case. The room I got was on the first floor, middle of the hotel, next to the parking lot, two doors down from one of the entrances. When you get into the room, make sure to close the curtain, so people don't look into your room :) Some things I want to share about this hotel. - This hotel is outdated, shows it age. - The sheets used on the beds had holes on them. - The carpets were dirty, make sure you bring slippers. - The room being on the first floor, you can hear all the conversation that's going on outside. - The bar is loud, so be mindful of this and try to get a room on the other side of the building. Unfortunately, I did not get a good night sleep... folks were walking up and down the hallway having conversations, there were folks in the parking lot talking... Was there a week and they did not clean my room not once. There are low income people staying there in which they get a government subsidy more than likely. I don't have any thing against this, but I encountered several people that were clearly on meth or some other drugs. There were nightly drug deals going done in the parking lot that I witnessed. It isn't often when you score a room for $45 on Priceline and still feel cheated. We checked in late and woke up Walter the front desk clerk. Walter was openly confrontational in a way that would have been amusing had he not been so counterproductive to us having a nice stay. He is sort of like Comic Book Guy bitterly working a hotel gig third shift. The hotel is weathered with every corner cut possible on half assed repairs. Walter mentioned some Indian tyrant was the owner and wouldn't pony up for doing quality repairs. There was a crappy enormous box of "fun sized" bags of snacks which we were refused because "they are only for elite members". Heads up if you are thinking about becoming an "elite member"! You could get a comp mini sized bag of Cheetos when you arrive! Boo rah! This is a good hotel to engage in a sordid extramarital affair or shoot a discount porno. The bathroom was dirty. The staff was unorganized and trashed their manager (who they were unable to get ahold of to fix a matter with my check in). The hotel is aging and smells of cigarette smoke. The connected bar attracts an interesting crowd, and the staff is not friendly. The shower got warm, not hot. The room was fairly clean, but all the other factors are why this place gets one star. The reservation cannot be cancelled through email. #1: this Cancellation Deadline is brutal. Industry standard is to allow same-day cancellations. We were helping our son move cross-country with wife & 3-year-old. We got behind schedule, called to cancel that afternoon, but were reminded of the policy (which I had not read) and in order to keep our reservation had to drive until 2:00am. There is NO WAY we could have known on Friday 4:00 pm EDT, which was 3:00pm CDT, that we would be so behind on Saturday. are you maximizing profits over maximizing customer satisfaction?? #2: the hotel air was stale. Even though we were in non-smoking rooms, obviously there had been smokers in our 1/2 of the hallways and there were a lot of smokers just down the hallway. #3: the water pressure was terrible. Taking a shower, if someone used water in another room (not even our room), the cold water disappeared and the water became scalding/too hot to stand under. I kept having to jump behind the shower curtain until the cold water returned to finish my shower. #4: carpets were stained in our rooms and the hallway. #4: the staff: courteous and friendly, especially in the restaurant at breakfast. #5: great beds and pillows. #6: surroundings: all parking lot, paved and gravel. The only proximity was to the highway. So it's not like we were paying for a view or great location. All this to say: they were $75-99 rooms, not $142-155 rooms. This hotel has the sensory experience of the most disgusting and unkept truck stop possible in reality. The entire property needs to be condemned. Most of the surface area in my room was covered in dust, rust, scum, mold, and grime. Every area of the room from the light switches to the sink handle was coated with grime. The radiator was covered in bug's nests, stains and tears everywhere in the carpet and covered in dust, hairs and stains in the bed, and the lampshades torn. The bathroom had mold everywhere with cracks in the bathtub and walls, wallpaper torn out, and I even found moldy sunflower seeds in the completely rusted out toilet paper holder. I felt dirtier after I took a shower than before I took a shower. There was water pouring from the bathroom fan and it completely flooded the floor and was leaking out into the room, and you will get soaked when using the toilet. The rooms have no insulation so every next door conversation and television usage is crispy audible and I could even hear the neighbors' urination during my entire stay. The hallways of the hotel have black mold and filthy carpets, and the stench of the premise is horrendous- stale cigarette smoke and spoiled Burger King. The odor permeates into your clothes and your hair and sticks with you all day. The walls of the breakfast area (near a foul-smelling bar) are painted with a gray/black color and are decorated with teenager-like 1990s posters of country music stars. No joke. When eating breakfast (on styrofoam plates and plastic utensils), you can enjoy the view of the graffiti-adorned and weedy abandoned truck stop across the street. Like other reviewers, I am being generous when giving this Quality Inn one-star, and the experience felt like something out of a Stephen King movie. read more

I stopped by here this past Saturday night for an overnight stay with my fiance, best friend and his wife. We ended up all staying together in a smoking room with 2 queen sized beds. At first glance the outside of this place looks much like a motel that I would pass on the road and keep on going. There wasn't much too it and while it wasn't dilapidated, it wasn't the best looking place either. The hallways of the hotel were in the same state, not too bad but clearly not good either. That seemed to be a trend as the bedroom part of our room was in the same state. Where our room clearly needed some improvement was in the bathroom. The first thing that I noticed was the very stained and old yellow looking grout that clearly needed either refinished or redone. That wouldn't be the worst of it either as part of the white tub was stained black and finally the kicker was the area above our shower head had some black areas that looked like mold was growing on it. That left all of us in the room feeling somewhat uncomfortable. Breakfast the next morning was included in the hotel price. It was a buffet style brunch in the restaurant that was attached to the hotel lobby. Whenever we first walked in I thought that the place looked a little dirty and that was possibly because it was dated. There were probably about 20 different items on the buffet including a fresh quiche. While nothing was great, nothing was horrible either except for the coffee which everyone at the table agreed was reminiscent of brown water. The bottom line for me is that I would not stay here again in the future. While getting the breakfast as part of the hotel room is nice, we did end up paying more for it and the price we payed for this place was nowhere worth the cost. read more

This is a cheap motel and you get what you pay for. It's not quite cheap enough for the quality that I'd choose to stay here again. PROS: Easy location with easy on-off from I-90. Surprisingly legit breakfast included for free...none of the little breakfast bar, there's a full service restaurant and we got quite a lot of options, good portions, good quality food, and it included fresh fruit and coffee or tea. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff people at the front were consistently friendly and professional. There was free wireless internet, and I found it was surprisingly reliable, although it got slow (slowed, not cutting out) later at night, presumably when the most people were using it. CONS: The electrical wiring in the place was iffy. Two of the outlets didn't work, which was a nuisance for charging phones and my laptop. The shower had some pretty big scratches, which exposed some of the underneath surface and made the shower look a bit ratty / dirty, although it was actually clean. Also, the water was a little sketchy...when we first got to the room, the water was brownish until we ran it for some time...probably just a sign someone was working on the plumbing between when the water was run last, but I'd think a diligent hotel staff would look into this before renting the room out. Final opinion? Meh. Not enough of a bargain to deal with the crappiness...I'd pay an extra $10 for the luxury of functional electrical outlets, clean water, a prettier looking shower, and wireless that doesn't slow down to a snail pace late at night. read more

The hotel was very sketchy! Very Dirty! and not up kept and smelled very bad. The door in our room looked as if was about ready to fall off the hinges. The continental breakfast was terrible. They did not have enough for all those that were waiting for food and was located and served in a smelly bar/ cheap restaurant that is attached to the hotel. The room looked like they had decided to start painting and replace the trim but did not finish. When I turned the shower on, the water ran brown for the first 10-15 seconds which could be rust but who knows. Terrible, Dirty and not a safe or friendly place to stay. I would have went somewhere else if if it was not so late or early in the morning. I would not recommend this place! it is gross! The price was right...and cheap! Room seemed clean, nice hot and strong shower. Adjoining restaurant staff very cordial and helpful. Hot breakfast made to order! Towels were better than motel6 so acceptable. One bedside lamp did not work(switch broken), but enough other lights in the room that did work. Free WIFI was nice and actually worked quite well. Biggest problem was a couple of men that were either out in the hallway or in the room next store talking on the phone to their families (in India I believe) in LOUD voices....until 1 or 2 in the morning! My partner and I booked a room here for a Friday night to sleep for the night on a long road trip. We arrived at 1am exhausted and looking forward to a good nights rest only to be told our room was cancelled and no more rooms were available. They did not call, they did not email, just cancelled. ***If you are thinking about staying here because of the location and price please read this*** A picture is worth a thousand words Look at the picture that i have uploaded! That will give you a pretty good idea of what you are about to encounter. Giving this a 1 star is being very generous. Let me explain... As we pulled up to Quality inn, the initial thought was "wow this place is runned down". I had an open mind as me and my family has stayed in a lot of hotels and motels during our family vacation. After check in we pulled around to the rear of the building to access a door closer to our room. As i walked in, i immediately noticed a musty smell that was mixed with cigarette smoke. Now if you are a smoker which we are not, this probably would not bother you but when my two oldest boys are complaining of the smell there is a problem...but if that was it, that would be easy to get past...but there is more. a lot more! As we walked in after encountering the smell, I noticed that the carpet was very old and had a lot of stains. We got to our room and I opened the door (see pictures). We had 2 a-joining rooms that were in disarray. My IMMEDIATE thought was "we cant possibly stay here more than 1 night let alone this evening". We needed to search for another hotel right now! Quality Inn claims that there is free WI-FI at this location. Yeah...not in our room or any other location where I tried. Forget about trying to use your cell phone either. I could barely get a 3G signal along with my wife's phone and my 2 older boys cell phone. So I ruled out that it wasn't my phone that was not working by using their phones. Both rooms that we were in we so dirty. The carpet, the walls, the bathrooms, the windows even the mirror next to the door...the mirror for God sake! how can you not clean a mirror properly. From the exposed wires from the broken wire chase on the wall to the hole in the exterior window screen to the most disturbing of all....the blood/fecal spot on the tub (see picture). The outdoor pool was also lacking. First the pool was located about 500 feet from the main building and you have to cross a dirt/rock parking lot to get to it. I don't smoke but I do drink occasionally and the first think I noticed was people smoking and drinking right by the pool. Now because I have my kids with me, I do not want them to be exposed to that. The pool was falling apart. The painted concrete was chipping and cracked. It was tolerable compared to the mess 500 feet away. Obviously there is a lack of management overseeing the maintenance and cleaning crews of this facility. Now I am sure that there will be people say "you didn't research enough...your expecting too much...your too superficial...your just complaining to complain...you get what you pay for....or i may get a response from the hotel saying some garbage like " we are sorry we did not meet your expectations blah blah blah... plain and simple "this place was disgusting and if i was the owner or manager i would be totally "embarrassed" to read a comment like this. But the problem is, this doesn't happen overnight...this took along time for this place to get like this. What i don't understand is when I read other reviews, especially on https://www.choicehotels.com/pennsylvania/fairview/quality-inn-hotels/pa548#hotel-reviews, there are good reviews??!! I can only assume that the people that are reviewing this hotel are really oblivious to the conditions around them or staff are purposely lying to get customers. At this point anything is possible.. For $60, I was not expecting much, but this exceeded my predictions. AC worked well. THEY EVEN HAD HBO - not to be expected from budget hotel. Wish I could get this every time I spent $60/night! Walter at the front desk was very proficient. UPDATE: I just went down for the FREE breakfast and was blown away! Table service with a choice of about 15 options. I had coffee, milk, 2 pieces of toast, 2 eggs, home fries, and ham. All was delicious! I would have spent at least $10 on this meal in a restaurant. Oooops. Lesson learned - just because you trust a brand (Choice Hotels) does NOT mean all locations are created equal. Preeeeeetty sure this is a halfway house of sorts. Which is awesome - just not a place we want to stay with two small kids. The pics on the website are NOT representative and do nothing to convey the smell. Though we were in a non-smoking room, the lobby and halls you go through reek of decades of baked-in smoke. We all woke up with congestion and puffy faces. Could have been related to the mold in the bathtub as well (to be clear, none of us actually got into shower - eeeesh). Aftter some work we were able to secure the window (on the first floor) but it was questionable. Messing with the window gave us opportunity to pay our respects to the long dead, impressively sized spider hanging out on the sill. We should have just cancelled our reservation and moved on down the road a few miles but were exhausted after a full day of travel and opted to just deal as we were only sleeping and then getting back on the road. The breakfast is fairly disgusting with all items on the buffet mixing in with adjoining items - for example, the vat or syrup became "breakfast soup" as bits of scrambled eggs, toast and other pieces of food fell in. Whatevs, the kids ate it. Moral of the story, unless you're just looking for a bed to sleep in for a night, look elsewhere. Anywhere else. read more

Like others who have reviewed this hotel before me, I also chose it based on the price and the on-line photos, which make it look much better than it actually is. The room was a little cleaner than the public spaces in the hotel, and the bed was comfortable, so it's not completely unfortunate, but I still would not choose this place again. They really need better maintenance and to update the rooms. Old carpet gets smelly, and I detected a moldy odor. I skipped the breakfast, as the restaurant just didn't look appetizing or appealing in any way. This whole property gives off the impression that no one cares at all. Moving on. read more

Worst hotel stay in 20 years! The place is a disaster. Very truck stop like. Our access key cards did not let us into the hotel. We experienced brown water in our sink and tub. We could not use them and resorted to bottle water for our kids to brush their teeth. We found cooked onions on our floor, terrible Wi-Fi, and hallways smelled of cigarette smoke ( on the non smoking floor). The tub had mold and a grab bar that was ripped out. One wall outlet was soft and recessed into the wall. Lamp switches were faulty. These are fire hazard for sure. The manager was never available. There was no resolution to our complaints. A free breakfast was included with the stay but we could not use the water and we were not about to trust the food. The price was $135 plus fees. It was not exactly cheap. I don't mean to be overly critical, I needed a hotel in this area to attend my daughter's graduation and all of the hotels in Erie were sold out and the price was right. However, this hotel is a hotel for smokers- there are smokers in the halls, smokers in the rooms, the hotel smells of smoke. My room smelled of smoke, and there is an ash tray in my room on my desk! I have not seen one of those in ages! All of the hotels in California are non-smoking. The infrastructure is aging and slowly falling apart and there does not seem to be much maintenance done that I can see. The room numbers are handwritten on the walls, the door locks and opening mechanisms are falling apart- I could not get into my room and had to walk all the way back to lobby to see the manager- I was told that you have to push up on the doorknob lever to get in- the door lever has been pushed down so many times, it has worn out and then only way to get in is to pull UP on the lever. I did not know that! Water runs hot and cold, depending on the water demand, the shower could get suddenly hot and suddenly cold, had me dancing in the shower. Really tests your reaction times. Internet is an open network, no password or security needed, but is very slow... too slow for me to do any real work on. Walls are very thin so you can hear any voices in the room next to you or from the hall. Bring earplugs! Heater and A/C work fine, bed comfortable. The hotel pool is a little ways away from the hotel down a gravel cement and dirt path, and through a parking lot, a very strange place for a pool. There is a shortage of electrical outlets in the room and I had to unplug some lamps or the coffee maker to make room for my device charging. The TV, microwave, and mini-fridge were plugged into the wall socket through a multiple plug adaptor, which is probably not the safest for a hotel, it might be prone to overheating and overloading. The vending machines are funny.... I needed some chocolate and the Snickers was labeled $1.00, but when I put in my money... no candy. The real cost was $1.05! I had to find an extra nickel! Breakfast is free but uninspired, mostly the same eggs, sausage patty, overcooked and crispy quiche, lot of processed foods, and it took me the third day to find where the fresh fruit was kept. A lot of traveling families bring their kids here, it is probably convenient and inexpensive. The staff is friendly and are really working hard, there seems to be adequate parking and it is close to Erie, so I could stay here if all of the hotels are booked. So, I might not stay here again. It is too bad that the management is not taking better care of this hotel. read more

I needed a place to stay driving to buffalo ny, got in at 1am they had breakfast between 6am to 10am only, put half my things in my car on way to breakfast, came back at 9:30 to find my room being cleaned and rest of my things gone, told me they were at the front desk. When I went to front desk manager said my things weren't there, he went back to cleaning staff to find my things . Never apologized or tried to make it right. Instead got loud and belligerent defending their actions , paid for full days accommodations and spent less than 8 hours on premises, will never stay there again probably will never stay at quality inn chain any more because of it read more

I don't get the low reviews...if you're a debutant this may not be for you. If you just want a clean room, warm shower and great breakfast and don't care what the outside looks like check this out!! You can't beat the price! FREE BREAKFAST is REAL, you go to the attached little restaurant and order from a menu. I travel through erie once every 6wks roughly...after trying other hotels in the area I have settled here. Free tv, comfortable beds, very clean rooms, staff is very nice...etc. Yes the outside is dated but I'm not here to live, just to crash for the night. ALSO, great location! An exit or two down (a few miles) you have everything....Steak & Shake, Cracker Barrel, Texas Roadhouse, Golden Corral etc. read more

Unless you have no other choice, I recommend not staying here. Granted, the staff is very friendly, but that's the only reason I'm giving one star. My husband & I traveled to Erie due to a family emergency and needed to stay close by, which is why we chose this hotel/location. Upon entering the room, it is severely outdated, except for the flat screen TV. It was clean but there was a huge stain on the, what looked to be 20 years old, carpet. The bathroom door would not close all the way, some of the electrical outlets were hanging off the wall, and the mattress was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever been in. It was as hard as a rock, as if we were sleeping on just the box spring. We told the manager about the mattress but he said "That's funny. Everyone loves our mattresses and is ranked #1 in the country." I'm not sure where he got that statistic from but it's wrong. We did not get a chance to try the free breakfast so cannot speak to it. We tried the free WiFi but it would never connect. Next time, we'll just stay at my parents' house on the pull out sofa. read more

The place is old and smelly with all outdoor rooms. It should not be considered a quality inn. The only reason I stayed here was because I was able to park my truck (large lot), but they waited til I checked in to inform me that that they no longer allowed trucks to park there and that I had to park across the street in a truck stop that was already full !!! wtf !! you guys need to get your act together. I've stayed in a lot of gross rooms. This room didn't have a bad smell to it. There was no smell in the room. The door itself needs to be painted again. The bathroom was really clean. No mold, no dirt, no rust, the wallpaper is not peeling. The bed was made nicely. The room has a mini fridge and microwave. It was quiet. There's a bar restaurant attached to the hotel, I didn't not go inside but it appeared to be nice. If you happen to get here late at night after the restaurant closes, do NOT order from Lucchetti's pizzeria. I was told about the place by the person who checked me in... maybe she doesn't know how bad the service really is. Check their ratings first and you'll see why. I ordered at 10:30pm and the food didn't arrive til 12:25am. I had canceled my order at 10:38pm and was told it was on its way. The pizzeria is 10 mins down the road. So yeah. Hotel is great. But make sure not to order from the pizzeria. There is free breakfast from 6am-10am. read more
